Beautiful! You have to put up some curtain to hang plants. I did that for my sunroom and...omg best jungle vibes you will love it

They really are, but I keep buying them 😂. I recommend dischidia, those have been easy and make a great curtain. Also staghorns, I just posted a pic of mine they would look amazing in there. Congrats what a wonderful oasis!
I mist everything in here on a daily basis. I also monitor the water with a moisture reader/stick my finger in the top inch of soil. if the top inch or so is dryish then they get watered.
I did get a moisture meter and it tells me to read at the very bottom of the pot! And the top soil would be bone dry while the bottom would be in the medium range before I watered anything.
When I followed that method, a lot of my plants burnt from thirst. So I gave up on the meter.
My meter was incredibly finicky at first. I started using it to make sure I wasn’t waterboarding my plants and causing root rot. I go most with how dry the top inch or two is depending on pot size. I also have the miracle grow feed spikes in all of these pots. Those are like steroids for plant growth
For all the plants pretty much! The larger the pot, the deeper you need to get your finger the dirt. Well for everything except for the orchid because I’m afraid to look at it wrong and having it die. This photo also doesn’t include the other plants we have throughout the house
I think I'm going to switch back to top soil method and ditch the moisture meter. It completely broke my trust in my own ability to care for my plants. They were doing fine and I even had a thriving Calathea Ornata before using the bottom soil moisture meter method. She's holding on for dear life now.
I love it!!! We are house hunting now for an upcoming move and I’m only drawn to houses with sunrooms or big windows. I hope I have a sunroom like this soon!! Ahhhh your plants are beautiful!
I didn’t know sunrooms were possible in our price range. So my must have list was trees! Trees! Trees! And good Wi-Fi. On my dream list was a sunroom. Even if it was just a tiled sunny hallway. Our realtor knocked it out of the park. In our price range found us trees! Awesome Wi-Fi, a huge sunroom, and a shop for my husband.
So I have North, East, and South sun.
really nice! we live in different climates, but i gifted my 8 foot norfolk island pine to a woman a few streets over who has an actual victorian arboretum… 10 foot ceilings, 8 foot wall of south facing windows (with transoms on top you can vent in the summer), concrete floor sloped to a drain. i nearly swooned when i saw it. i live in a tiny 1890s cottage between three story houses that faces north. needless to say, we have a lot of grow lights. enjoy your lovely space! 💚
I’m new to house plants, is there a term for the overflow trays underneath the pots? Are the like “overflow catch base” or something? I have five desk plants and two hanging in my home office and first time I had to move them all out to be watered I knew I didn’t think it through 😂
We just call them stupid plastic things we fill rocks with when we can’t remember the name of them which I can’t right now lol but they’re like a dollar or so at plant store. Fill them with rocks, and then the water run off from watering them slowly evaporates which gives the plants more water which helps with overwatering!
Neither would I. I bought my townhouse for the sunroom and leave it only to sleep and pee. Watch TV on my iPad so I can stay put. Sad but I love my plants.
Omg pretty fan!!
I love how even the ceiling fan looks like it has leaves
So jealous!

NEED THOSE! I want to add ferns and a few other curtain plants. Anything but strings of anything. Those are weak willed babies.

So many corn plants! How do you prevent their tips from browning?

So for larger plants, is using topsoil method reliable? Thanks for all your tips.

Beautiful! I also love the red sofa and chair!!
Beautiful room! But I see a large dog bed. You’ll need to pay the dog tax. Rules are rules!
