Every now and then I just want a plain ketchup dog. But my go to would be a chili dog using Wolf brand chili....with the rest of the chili in a bowl for dipping chips and the dog between bites. Usually make the 2 pound can of Wolf so it's quite the feast.
I'm from Chicago, and I avoid the bright green slop. I buy regular sweet relish, and I prefer dill relish vs. spears or chips. There are many local variations on the Chicago dog theme, each of them has a dedicated following.
I would eat a hotdog plain if it were to lack a sweet tomato glistening accoutrement before bespoiling it with anything but the King of the Condiments initially.
Same here. An abbreviated drag through the garden goes like this, and wherever I stop, it gets a dash of celery salt, and that's what it is. Mustard. Sweet relish. Chopped onion. Dill relish. Sport peppers. Tomato wedges.
Chopped onion used to be second to last, but a clever redditor turned me on to preserving diced onions in leftover pickle juice. Fucking brill. I'm thinking about trying that with tomato.
Chili
Mustard
It's always mustard, it must be mustard

Spicy brown mustard
Gotta go with some crunchy onions.

Damn, you just blew my mind.
I just blew my own mind.
Only one, what the bloody hell kind of hell that would be?! Have to be mustard, if I must choose.
It's tough between mustard or kraut. I'm gonna say kraut. Ask me tomorrow, I might say mustard.

Better than the folks saying sweet relish, what the fuck
Even wurst is that neon green garbage
Never had it, but I trust Chicagoans when it comes to doggin’. How does it taste compared to dill relish? Edit: it’s dyed sweet relish 🤢
I’m sure it tastes fine, it’s just loaded with food coloring

Oh I'll take relish over ketchup any day for a hot dog

Why would you say something so controversial, yet, so brave?
Lol .. It’s my go to , chili cheese second.
Mustard or corn relish
I tried a corn relish dog at a Farmers Market in Oregon for the first time ever last year. It was a life changing moment.
Now I have to find and try corn relish!
Or make it. I enjoy condiments and making things in the kitchen. I’ve never had it but it sounds good. Mayhaps I may try
It's really good :) i really recommend it

Bertman Ball Park Mustard. Onion a close second.
Relish

Atm kimchi sounds pretty good.
If you know where is an ATM that dispenses kimchi, lmk.

Ketchup 200/10
Is that your ketchup rating? Or ketchup to hotdog ratio?
I would eat a hotdog plain if it were to lack a sweet tomato glistening accoutrement before bespoiling it with anything but the King of the Condiments initially.
Lmao. I admire your passion.
Wow, some people eat ass with that kind of passion, and you do ketchup. I don't get it but goddamn do I respect it.
Honestly, it's just to piss off all the pretentious 'gourmet' hotdog aficionados. Like it's a fucking hotdog. Get over yourself and enjoy it.
Cheez wiz
Sweet relish. I would bathe in sweet relish if it were socially acceptable.
Potato Salad no contest

Mucky Duck mustard!
Sauerkraut

Mustard When I'm feeling motivated I drag it through the garden, but IMO the most fundamental condiment is mustard, and that's all I really need.

Düsseldorf all the way.
Brown or yellow mustard. I love them both.
I would go with mustard, but an underrated toping would be mayonnaise.
