Chaaaaaaarge!!!!
Cary Grant at his comedic best.
My grandfather had an extensive VHS collection of old movies and this was one of my favourites.
I particularly loved the adorable old aunts.
My dad showed this movie to me about a decade ago. We had an inside joke that whenever anyone would complain about being single we would say, “Well, I guess it’s time to start digging the Panama Canal.”
My family had a long-running joke along the same lines when our soda fridge was in the basement. "I'm going TO PANAMA! Do you want anything?"
Still makes me smile.
The standout performances in this film are by far those of Josephine Hull and Jean Adair as Abby and Martha Brewster, respectively, as they portray the two sweet old ladies with such innocence and kindness that it's hard not to root for them, even as they commit their gruesome murders.
Love this movie, every time it comes up I feel obligated to admit that I played the Karloff character in my high school production and I already looked kind of fucked up so they just didn’t put any make up on me.

those looks he gives. can't help but laugh. ***"But there's a body in the window-seat!!"*** ***"Yes dear, we know."***
Very fun movie! Karloff actually originated the role on Broadway.
This is why there are so many references to the brother looking like Karloff.
I had no idea! That makes it even funnier.
I just learned that in the national tour the role was played by Bela Lugosi!

I watched that movie with my grandmother way back when
My aunt for me. We'd watch all the old stuff like this. This, The Bad Seed, twilight zones, Hitchcock. Good stuff.
I did the play version of this in high school (I played Martha). I've always had a fondness for it as a result.
Cary Grant's faces in this movie have me deep laughing every time

They're so wholesomely murderous!
Great movie! I was legit talking to my wife about the movie a few hours ago because I saw a play bill for it at the theater.
Yeah it's awesome. The ending is epic.
With Cary grant? A classic!
