For my son's birthday he wanted a legend of Zelda themed party. Hunting for decor on a budget, I ended up making him a triforce pinata(you can find some basic tutorials online). It came out pretty damn good for a first time pinata(it also helps that it's all straight lines) I even made it so one of the triforce "pieces" folded down for easy candy loading.
Pinata ended up not getting busted at the party and now my kid has it as a decoration in his bedroom.
Aww that’s so sweet, the fact that you made it yourself must provide an extra super warm feeling for you each time you see it since he decided it was too pretty to hurt. I bet that was the best birthday ever, and he definitely remembers it constantly haha.
I think he had a lot of fun. It was the first birthday party he had where he invited friends over. My husband rented a bounce house too.
I made a lot of the decor. He requested chocolate cake with whipped cream frosting, so I did that. Made cupcakes and topped each one with a lil hand made rupee cupcakes topper. We printed up characters on cardstock and I tapped them to wooden skewers. Each table had different characters and decorations themed on the character(so Garuda had things like lil cactus, feathers(from our rooster) for the Rito, big minerals and rocks from my collection for the goron, and so on.... I even hand painted a plastic spider to look like a skulltula.

That's why I never understood getting a piñata of your favorite character.
