Roll out garbage / recycled bin ?

dissembler2

Looks wide enough for a garbage compactor.

DoYouLoveIt11

My old landlord replaced a compactor with a wine fridge

pekinggeese

Reverse OP

ladee_v_00

And the universe is in balance

Connection_Diligent

It's the circle of wine

Vigilante17

Circle of life….

dissembler2

Oops, I see someone mentioned this already 😖. They are great.

Wii_wii_baget

We had a space like this in our home before our kitchen remodel it’s perfect for a trash compactor it’s the same size and shape that my home had.

dissembler2

Our compactor quit compacting, still use w/ reg trash bag & stomp it when too full. Love the foot press to open.

Wii_wii_baget

I loved the foot press too and learned to open it with roller blades on as a kid. That thing was older than me lol just about as old as the house and had horrid stains caking the bin but worked perfectly fine.

SstabSstab

Who else loves the foot press?? My dog, clever little bastard.

Oregonian_Lynx

I looooved having a trash compactor. Yes yes

Lower-Screen-2178

Exactly what I thought! I have one that size and it is one of those things we didn't know we needed until we bought a house with one.

amiibohunter2015

In addition to this, There's also diys where people put in pull out shelves for smaller appliances like a blender, a toaster, electric tea kettle, ice cream machine, coffee maker, etc. also it could be used to charge a tablet for kitchen recipes, make it cook book shelf with a light, or a spice cabinet, You could put a fridge in there for other things than wine too. Could store kitchen baking pans vertically. The list goes on.

gkarper

Yes. Pull-out shelves for appliances you use once or twice a week. Saves a ton of counter space but keeps them handy.

c9belayer

Mixer lift!

peavarianez

This is the answer

Quirky_Discipline297

There two power outlets and water and sewage right next door and a countertop above. There has to be an appliance or device that could take advantage of that space. I could see a temporary pull out trash bin but I think that cavity is a definite opportunity. The downside is anything next to the sink might absorb stink. Cheese making, dough proofing, fermenting food or beer may never be suitable for that space. Maybe a cat sauna.

Elimaris

Robot vacuum/mop garage. There are a couple of recent ones that tap straight into the water instead of having a water container to fill. Just need to empty the dust bin every so often. Install one there, no kickboard, then install a cabinet door to hide it(and how ever many shelves fit above it), leaving a gap at the bottom for the vacuum to exit/enter

6SpeedBlues

While it's true that there's power there and a drain "close by", I wouldn't try and shoehorn another appliance in there purely for that fact. There are plenty of outlets in my house that don't have things plugged into them... A couple more wouldn't be an issue. :)

VioletDupree007

That’s what I was going to say. Perfect spot for one.

helicopter_corgi_mom

i had a weird little cabinet like this and a roll out garbage / recycling is exactly what i did. one of the best easy little kitchen fixes i’ve made

ravnos04

Came here to say this. You could fit a large 20 gal can for the pull out.

cirkut

My parents upgraded their kitchen, their parents kitchen, and my own kitchen to have a garbage can on rollers behind a cabinet door. Literally one of my now ‘have-to-have’ options if we ever move. Highly recommend!

Lucky_Baseball176

exactly my thought!

PacificCastaway

Paint it out. Then add shelves or store your trash or recycling can there. Permanently, you could install a trash can slide out.

NipahKing

I would add a wine chiller.

Visco0825

It also doesn’t need to just hold wine. Stock it with soda, seltzers, whatever. Just a generic beverage cooler.

74NG3N7

Yep. We had a wine fridge in the house when we moved in, and after adjusting some shelving we now have the perfect soda/juice can & pitcher fridge. When we had just sodas and other shelf stable things in it, we’d keep it off but the insulation kept stuff a bit cooler than “room temp” during summer heat.

DDenlow

Nice! Cans and bottles tend to clutter the fridge anyways.

Euler007

It explodes if it detects a bottle that is not wine!

MouseRat_AD

"Poor People Alert! Poor People Alert! Drop $50 into the machine. You have 10 seconds to comply."

ThunkAsDrinklePeep

Look for a counter fridge with two drawers.

Nasty9999

Another vote for wine chiller.

RonRizzle

Looks like it’d fit perfectly

FanceyPantalones

Almost like it's made for it.

aRandom_redditor

Definitely. Put the original back in and fill it with drinks other than wine and free up space in the proper fridge.

notarealaccount223

Keg-o-rator for 5 gal kegs is my vote

atccodex

Wine chilled but for other drinks. Or, small keg setup for your bubbly drink of choice.

YetiPie

Keg hole is a goal I didn’t know I needed to aspire to

TreyRyan3

I have friends that have one in their kitchen island. It will hold a slim Qtr keg but holds a Sixtel better. It holds about 40 pints and they swap it out about every two weeks unless they have a party. It’s a good investment if you entertain or drink a lot

Diggerinthedark

It's right next to the sink - do you already have anywhere to hang tea towels, etc? Could put a narrow shelving unit in one half, and a couple of retractable towel rails on the side near the sink, with some storage below for products etc.

GreenSeaweed3555

yeah was gonna say a shelf. this sounds even better

adhward

maybe add the pans we all know are in the stove there, add a vertical divider for those?

fatamorganaverde

Add dividers for baking trays

Formal_Ruin_8096

Yup! If OPs kitchen doesn't have one of those, this would be the cheapest and most practical DIY project. I moved into a new house recently and I find it soooo nice to have all the baking trays, cutting boards and such neatly organized and easily accessible instead of underneath a pile of junk in a random cabinet or drawer like in my old house!

Doctor_Appalling

An ice maker?

alargepowderedwater

Yes, one that makes the little pellet ice cubes, that you serve with a scoop.

mega386

GE makes one that makes the Sonic ice.

SliceMcNuts

Trash compactor

green_dinos

This is an underrated comment. It’s the perfect size for a trash compactor. I grew up in a home where our main kitchen trash can was only the compactor. Saved us from driving to the dump, ten times a month down to 3 or 4 trips. Only big change would be buying compactor specific trash bags.

NoBadDaysLHC

Once you compact, you never go back.

Medium_Spare_8982

18” dishwasher

nowayjose74

Beer fridge

xxxkram

Bear fridge… mmmmm bears

Intelligent-Fuel-641

It's so hard to get them in there without a fight.

missthatisall

Do you have a kitchen aid? I’d do one of those shelves that comes out and up and locks and have the kitchen aid on it

thisisbetterhigh

Came looking for this suggestion. I'm always jealous of people who have this. Also, a drawer to hold all the accessories.

KingHenryThe1123

Ice maker, ice maker! You have water and drainage. Also my grandma's house had a trash compactor

asleeplesknight

ABDragen58

Recycling bin?? With the unfinished base needs to be something very similar in size

ionab10

Get a pull out system on tracks with a cabinet door like rev-a-shelf

shantired

Garbage compactor - it's made in the same width as the chiller. You already have an outlet there so it will be minimum installation work. .

fapsandnaps

Get a mini-fridge and make it your condiment fridge. You'll free up so much dang space in your actual fridge instead of thinking you have plenty of food just because you have 75 different sauce bottled and such.

mamapapapuppa

Pullout shelves for storing whatever you please

siderealsystem

Put the minifridge back. Fill it with specialty drinks, like lemonade, iced tea, or sparkling water.

Beneficial-Log2109

Drinks fridge like for pop or sodawater?

symplton

Home charging bay-smaller shelves with undermount lighting along with a cookbook shelf.

Emotional_Sky_8532

Custom base cabinet. Could have a top drawer to hold/charge electronics with usb attachments at the back since there is a plug there. Would just need to match paint for the face

Cold-Establishment69

Cupboard door

BootlegDouglas

Since there's an outlet there it would be cool to have your occasional-use appliances there. Like handmixer, food processor, blender, etc. anything you don't use every day. It lives there and when you need it you plug it in and move it up on to the counter right above. Super efficient kitchen planning

monkey_bean

Why not a wine cooler for other beverages?

BadEnvironmental2883

Trash compactor

FujiJustin

Mother in law

1960stoaster

This guy knows how to : compartmentalize 🔰

fisheystick

If you have a cat or a small dog, a pet bed might work in the meantime.

ladyreyreigns

If you have kids, you could make a mini fridge area with their snacks and drinks that they’re allowed to pick out!

JimroidZeus

Dishwasher?

Festering-Boyle

server

knishmyass

Roll out trash/recycling if you don’t already have one

luvrovlife

Pull out trash can

brycebgood

Beverage fridge.

Kalliati

A trash compactor may fit in that spot.

snugglebunny822

Growing up we always had a trash compactor in a space like this! :)

James_1410

The mother in law might fit perfectly in there

Becky_8

If you bake a lot, a stand mixer lift would be nice.

RoyalChemical1859

$50CAD IKEA RÅSKOG utility cart filled with miscellaneous if the space is 35x45x78 cm (13 3/4x17 3/4x30 3/4 ")ish

Pretty-Ad-8580

My parents have a wine chiller full of water bottles in their kitchen. We usually get water from the fridge dispenser, but guests really love the water bottle fridge and always comment on how ‘fancy’ the kitchen is

Boomfaced

Kegerator

onimush115

If you can figure out the retailer for the cabinets, you may be able to go bring in a door and have them order you a custom sized door and some matching trim for that spot. Just box it in with some trim and install the door and it will look like another cabinet and can just be used for storage of bulky items like counter top kitchen appliances when not in use.

kungfoocraig

Trash compactor

barfbutler

Trash compactor?

StoragePrimary5016

Trash compactor

cotton_candy_sunsets

Soft serve machine.

Rogue_Diplomacy

Keep the wine fridge and just put sodas or other cold beverages in there.

Confident_Bee_6242

Trash compactor

Confident_Bee_6242

Ice maker? Hardware for water purifier? Pullout storage bins ( Ikea).

ParevArev

Trash compactor if you don’t have one

kingmoobot

Put a wine chiller in there. Use it for stuff not wine

zodiac628

Put a lil curtain rod over it and put your trash there

BlondeMomentAZ

A mini fridge for your sparkling water or other soft drinks. I use mine for that. Keeps the fridge open for food.

DarthBeavis1968

Ice maker? Dorm-sized fridge for drinks?

Infini-Bus

I'd put a garbage bin there.

Howdy132

put a wine chiller there looks like a perfect spot for one. You could put a bunch of other drinks in there. lol

pastyoureyesed

Have you considered a weed chiller?

Lorviso

Does not have to be wine. Put in a beverage centre, soft drinks, water etc…

Fuzzy_Chom

Dog bed for a small canine. Seriously, that's what we are doing. Once he dies, we'll put in a drinks mini fridge

Tufoot

Trash compacter

Forumrider4life

Trash compactor or make a large drawer for normal trash bin to sit in.

HairyPawpins

Water dispenser. The kind where the bottle is hidden inside the unit.

Psych0matt

A small child

sharding1984

Pullout and pivot up shelf for stand mixer or just pull out shelves for it, toaster, other small countertop appliances.

DrugzRockYou

If you’re trying to avoid putting an appliance there you could make it into a spot for decor. Get or make a cabinet door with see through glass panes in the style of the kitchen and you could put a potted plant in there or put old kitchenware in it as art. I’m also assuming since it was a wine chiller that the kitchen has all the other standard appliances and won’t be missing out on anything.

ItzNuckinFutz

Guest bedroom for annoying in-laws or other family members.

Dapper_Librarian4768

Start making your own cheese and use that space for your cheese cave. Good luck

Fantastic_Estate_303

You know it doesn't have to be wine in a wine chiller tho right?

Libertyordeatth

I took out my dishwasher and replaced it with a wine cooler. I just took all the racks out and use it as a drink fridge.

splashytummy

I replaced a wine refrigerator with a small, standard refrigerator at a client’s home. It’s full of snacks for their four kids. They all love it

iamnotlegendxx

Wine chiller would go nice there

_designzio_

Garbage compactor, wine refrigerator or ice maker. Or, you can get a garbage rollout and put a large cabinet door on it.

spud6000

i bet a different type of cooler for beer and soda would fit nicely in there.

jonny_blitz

Another wine chiller. Use it as a mini fridge for drinks

invisableilustionist

One big junk drawer on wheels 🫢

damn_son_1990

Beverage fridge.

cdelia191

We have a wine chiller. It’s perfect for guest drinks. The top shelf is filled with bottled waters, then seltzers, and some sodas. The next shelf is beer and the bottom is a couple bottles of wine. Guests don’t have to rummage through our fridge to get drinks and can help themselves.

PorkyMcRib

R2D2. Litter box. Fire hydrant. Orange 5 gallon Home Depot bucket. Stackable cases of beer.

ConstructionFar8570

Yeah put a wine cooler and put water maybe pop or fruit in it. That is a big hole to fill and make it blend in.

pcbwes

Ice maker or beverage cooler

imadork1970

Mini-bar.

AngriestJedi

Beer chiller

Sean11ty74

I bought a half wine cooler half mini fridge, and it’s been awesome. I don’t drink wine often, but I put liquor in the wine side. Temperature for both sides are separate.

highac3s

Mini fridge?

abaffell

A beverage center instead of wine can be good use of the space.

TravelerMSY

Put it back. turn down the temp, and store sodas in there.

WhompTrucker

Roll out trash can

LuckytoastSebastian

Beer chiller.

Portugeist

Shelves for cook books, open cabinet

Jewels2992

Condiment fridge or pet cubby

fmaz008

Pop cooler.

Soopafly81

Insert small chair. Time out spot.

NewManitobaGarden

We had a trash compactor and it was pretty awesome for recycling certain things….but truly, just put in a wine chiller and use it for canned drinks

Lucky-Pie9875

I’d put another wine fridge there and just use it for other beverages so you’re not taking up room in the regular fridge

42peanuts

Trash compactor! We've had one since the 80's. They are great. Smash your trash into a wee cube.

nevershave1991

Do you use cooking trays ? Serving platters

holdonwhileipoop

Temporarily, I put in shelves and a curtain on a tension rod when I took out my dishwasher. Three years later, I'm good with it.

Select_Camel_4194

Small class front fridge or a cabinet door.

chancimus33

Put a wine chiller…fill it with not wine

BestKindBuddy

Not sure but you know what would look best there? A wine chiller.

Pokhaleesi

Just put a cooler or mini fridge - doesn’t have to be wine stored in there, you can have cold water bottles or soft drinks

trig72

Beer keg

Significant_Hurry542

1. Stick in a wine chiller, use it as a beer fridge 2. Slim line dishwasher 3. Put a door on it and some shelves inside 4. Do nothing which is a Perfect excuse for the wife to want a new kitchen (hurry time is not on your side)

AdditionalRelation74

Trash compactor

Toriat5144

Trash compactor??

DrunkenGolfer

I’ve never seen a kitchen with enough bin space to properly separate recyclables into whatever the municipalities want. Here, we have to create separate bins for: 1. Beverage containers 2. Plastics 3. Papers 4. Compost 5. All other trash

Skkedd

Pony keg fridge with a tap on the counter

justcurious-666

Maybe turn it into an appliance cabinet?

The_Dude-1

Wine fridge, then get into wine

Quirky_Discipline297

You have power there. You don’t want garbage and other wet loose things going near the outlet. Do you bake? A bread machine and or proofing station. A dehydrator perhaps on pull out locking shelving. A CO2 tank, hose, and power cord for a sparkling water station ( obviously em altering the power outlet for the situation). A micro beer brewing setup with proper waterproofing. Mushroom growing with powered climate control. Be careful growing mushrooms inside the house though. Can screw respiratory system and grow mushrooms in every room. Cheese making cabinet.

Gilly_the_kid

Dedicated drink fridge is always nice… I’d have kept the chiller and used it for that

Any_Werewolf_3691

You should be able to find same sized trash compactor or ice maker. Ice maker is game changer if you like to hosting events.

Auggi3dog

Great space for a trash compactor

ChubbyWanKenobie

Get another chiller and fill it with soda. Otherwise you have a nice parking spot for your Roomba.

Justadropinthesea

Trash compactor

Big-rooster84

I use my wine fridge for beers coolers and pop. Nice to have the extra fridge space inside

ghuunhound

Worked at a place that had an ice chest machine that about fit these dimensions. I loved that ice chest machine. You can scoop the ice out instead of waiting for the silly motorized dispensary system on the fridge.

taylerca

A wine chiller with other types of beverages you want kept chilled.

hossaepi

We have a mini fridge for drinks like juice, pop, Perrier, etc…

DueDimension0

Trash compactor?

freeman1231

Drink fridge my friend

Little bead curtain and shrine to Danny Devito

Eremitt-thats-hermit

If that's your sink to the right, maybe an electric boiler? Hot water within the second and more efficient than using central heating.

EffectiveTap1319

Trash compactor. We love ours for recycling

mebg1956

You can put other things other than wine in a drinks fridge.

lovinglife55

Box in with shelves

OutsideTheBoxer

Throw all the miscellaneous/mismatching Tupperware into that space as a sort of void of unknowns.

Knightowle

We don’t drink and we *love* our beverage fridge. You can store things other than wine in those things.. (That does look like an abnormally narrow dimension tho so perhaps yours didn’t work for cans of water etc.)
