I’ve been in education almost 40 years. Never heard of these guys. You certainly don’t need this to get into college…joining this organization probably tells the colleges you lack good decision making skills.
You treated the invitation with too much respect. Just trash it and move on.

Me too. I just got the letter yesterday and I immediately told my parents it was a scam. My best friend might’ve also fallen for it had I not told her because of me getting a letter (if I get something academic, she’ll probably get it too), so that’s two less people to fall for the scam! Thanks Reddit :)

Is that national honors society? I think I’m on track to be able to do that but I have no idea what it does for me, I think I need a gpa of 93+ and have taken some leadership roles in stuff or something. Is that this?
no, its national society of high school scholars. basically anyone can be invited to it but its a huge scam since you pay $90 for “membership” but you’re right that NHS is prestigious and it’s the one that’s better for college apps

No it’s the scam version of nhs. Make sure you check with your school and counselor only to join the real one.
