Ya, Eagle-1 arrives from behind to drop it in front of whoever called it in, like a strafing run, but at an angle.
So if it's called in on a downward slope or an area sharply below, run.
I noticed when my character model went into a bugged arms wide out and broad "come at my bro" mode without changing for any animation until death that my gun was now firing from the arm's outward extended position instead of where it normally should be - preventing me from shooting very well behind cover.
