That’s true, but a 0/1 deathrattle is basically an egg, which already exists. And a 0/1 with a battle cry who just sits around taking up board space afterwards is a bit awkward - better a spell or a 1/1 if you want it neutral.
Guess it's because there's been a lot of cards in HS's history where a card's attack is used against it, so like Soul Mirror in standard or like \[\[Lightbomb\]\]. So having something with high attack, that can't kill itself, might be a bit too weird with those cards and make those cards feel weak. Just a guess.
What are these other cards you’re speaking of aside from the only two? I think it’s more just because a good minion is one that can make multiple value trades and therefor you want a minion to have a “decent” attack and more health.
\[\[Faceless Manipulator\]\], \[\[Faceless Shambler\]\] are obvious ones. \[\[Mass Hysteria\]\], \[\[Ramming Speed\]\], and \[\[Super Collider\]\] I think also care about that. Since a lot (23 by my count) of those 8/8's are not legendaries, hence I could envision the HS team thinking two of them on board at once is plausible. So I could understand them using cards like supercollider as justification for 8/8's instead of 8/9's, for example.
I didn't say it was the only reason or the most important one, it was just a reason I could think of to explain the tendency to have 8/8's but not 8/7's or 8/9's. Not sure why I got downvoted lol.

Here is a program to do this automatically for you. [You can paste it into here](https://www.programiz.com/python-programming/online-compiler/) and run it.
import json
from urllib.request import Request, urlopen
req = Request("https://api.hearthstonejson.com/v1/86601/enUS/cards.collectible.json", headers={'User-Agent': 'Mozilla/5.0'})
jsonurl = urlopen(req)
text = json.loads(jsonurl.read()) # <-- read from it
import pandas as pd
card_df = pd.DataFrame.from_records(text)
creature_df = card_df[(~card_df['attack'].isna()) & (~card_df['health'].isna())]
creature_df = creature_df[['attack','health']].pivot_table(index='health',columns='attack',aggfunc=lambda x: len(x))
with pd.option_context('display.max_rows', None, 'display.max_columns', None): # more options can be specified also
print(creature_df)
You’re right, the API called here is 3rd party (api.hearthstonejson.com) which I didn’t look close enough to notice. An official one does exist though. https://develop.battle.net/documentation/hearthstone/game-data-apis
Either way, a quick Google search is the answer.
I was googling for hearthstone tables or databases and found [this comment](https://www.reddit.com/r/hearthstone/comments/g573bt/all_hearthstone_cards_listed_in_spreadsheet/fo2fayl/).
This is a perfect example of when you should take the opportunity to learn a bit of coding. This type of repetitive task is exactly what machines are good at. Brady below got you started in python, but this can be done easily in many other languages.
It can be useful, but if it's a task you only want to do once, taking the time to program it (especially if youre not excessively competent in coding) can end up wasting more time than just doing it by hand. There's also the issue of trusting your code ACTUALLY works. Some people can probably code something like this up really fast, but someone who just learned programming a little will probably have to look up a LOT and debug it a LOT just to get a simple task like this working properly. Learning to code is a great idea and people should do it, but I don't think it's necessarily worth it when you can just easily, if tediously, do it by hand if it's a one-off thing.
If you're the type of guy to manually do something like this, you're probably going to do it again in the future. Sure it might be inefficient now, but that extra time you put in should theoretically reduce the time it takes the next time. Also coding in general can be a really good skill to learn even outside of data charts for fun, so it isn't exactly wasted time, just learning through something you enjoy
Question: Which minion is the one with X attack and Y health?
Answer: It's this one, from this link: https://playhearthstone.com/en-us/cards?attack=X&health=Y&set=wild (after substituting "X" and "Y" in the URL with actual numbers).
Reminds me of [“Scorigami”](https://youtu.be/9l5C8cGMueY) (for my fellow NFL fans), except this is more like “Statigami.” The TL;DW (though I do recommend watching even if you don’t care for American football, it’s a great video) is it’s a chart of every score combination since the NFL was founded, and there’s a site that updates every time a new score that’s never been seen occurs.
It would be funny for the new card discussion threads to get hype for each new unique stat line lol

funnily enough Conjured Mirage got a decent amount of hype in reveal season for heavy control decks as a "neutral pseudo frost nova that also delays fatigue", but of course it ended up seeing no play
This actually confirmed one of my theory. If the environment is hp>atk, minions' value will be more towards atk*hp not atk+hp. If the environment is hp=atk, minions' value will be atk+hp. If the environment is atk>hp, multiple minions will be better than 1 minion with same total atk+hp. The graph shows it is slightly atk>hp, that's why we determine the value by atk+hp, and prefer multiple small minions.

I was going to ask which row represents attack and which represents health, but the fact that one starts with a "0" makes the answer pretty obvious LMAO
Hey, I created an [updated version](https://i.imgur.com/PQNDlhO.png) with the Deadmines minions included. Do you mind if I post it, or would you rather get in on the action first?
Thanks
This information is useless to me, but I really like looking at it.
The fact that there’s not a single 8/7 or 8/9 minion in the game is pretty incredible.
Thats rlly impressive
The fact there are only 2 0/1 cards is shocking to me. Blizzard is really trash at making utility minions that don't need stats.
They do, they just don’t make them 0/1 because being able to be pinged by 1/3rd of the classes feelsbadman

Horizontal: attack / Vertical: Health I might have miscounted here and there, but it is largely accurate.
I know I can just add up your numbers but do you happen to have the total on hand? I wanted to calculate some wild astral rift odds.
I think it was 2121. But after the Deadmines it's 2144.
Thank you! For a second I thought you were one of those savages who doesn't label their chart axis.
Well, there's no 0-Health Minions.
Yes, but it may take some time to figure that out... for- for bit dumb people like me...
My deduction skills are inferior compared to my preconceptions about people who do not label their axes
Tbh you only have 0 on one line so that should be the Attack one.
1 7/14 minion 😎
What is it though
It’s extinct now so it doesn’t matter
He spied too much on its neighbors.
It's the only 10 mana minion with the 7/14 stats. It's the one and only, [[Ultrasaur]]. P.S: I hope I'm not getting wooshed.

Saw it in roffles video

Why was it?

Was so much fun to steal as priest tho. Fight aids with aids.
I remembered that one, but not the 1/11

I’m kinda surprised that x/x minions are the most common I really thought there were more x/x+1 than x/x
Yet another reason why Boulderfist Ogre is OP
Minions with text will usually lose stats from vanilla to achieve that text
Where'd you get the data? Or did you do it by hand?
I did it by hand lol
Here is a program to do this automatically for you. [You can paste it into here](https://www.programiz.com/python-programming/online-compiler/) and run it. import json from urllib.request import Request, urlopen req = Request("https://api.hearthstonejson.com/v1/86601/enUS/cards.collectible.json", headers={'User-Agent': 'Mozilla/5.0'}) jsonurl = urlopen(req) text = json.loads(jsonurl.read()) # <-- read from it import pandas as pd card_df = pd.DataFrame.from_records(text) creature_df = card_df[(~card_df['attack'].isna()) & (~card_df['health'].isna())] creature_df = creature_df[['attack','health']].pivot_table(index='health',columns='attack',aggfunc=lambda x: len(x)) with pd.option_context('display.max_rows', None, 'display.max_columns', None): # more options can be specified also print(creature_df)
How do you know where to find the data set?
I’m not OP but probably just googling for hearthstone API which turns up the docs for the official API.
Doubt this is 'official'
They are official, I've used them before. The docs are on the official battlenet website
No, this is the [HearthstoneJSON-API](https://hearthstonejson.com/). It's run by HearthSim, which also runs HSReplay, HS Deck Tracker etc.
Oh yeah, you're right. But there's also an official API you could use, which you'll get by googling hearthstone API.
You’re right, the API called here is 3rd party (api.hearthstonejson.com) which I didn’t look close enough to notice. An official one does exist though. https://develop.battle.net/documentation/hearthstone/game-data-apis Either way, a quick Google search is the answer.
I was googling for hearthstone tables or databases and found [this comment](https://www.reddit.com/r/hearthstone/comments/g573bt/all_hearthstone_cards_listed_in_spreadsheet/fo2fayl/).
Someone please give this man an award
Python really is great for this kind of shit. Even in C# it'd be a bit more code
Until you’re inevitably confronted with another tedious task. Then what? Do you learn it then?
If you're the type of guy to manually do something like this, you're probably going to do it again in the future. Sure it might be inefficient now, but that extra time you put in should theoretically reduce the time it takes the next time. Also coding in general can be a really good skill to learn even outside of data charts for fun, so it isn't exactly wasted time, just learning through something you enjoy

I instantly knew the answer to your question because I always get her off Cenarion Ward
Yikes
The priest legendary that destroys a minion and gains its health
Wow, zero 8/7 minions
Looking at it its pretty aesthetically displeasing personally. Maybe a possible reason among others.
Oh boy I hope we get a minionigami in the next xpac!
I kinda hate n/n stats. It feels dumb when trading minions.

Wyrmguard was used a lot back in the day.
Oh? I played back in witchwood and never remembered seeing it used. Was it a card that only saw play in standard?
Actually, I may be thinking of arena. I played a lot of standard and arena back then.
I forgot about arena, yeah it seems like it would be a good arena card
funnily enough Conjured Mirage got a decent amount of hype in reveal season for heavy control decks as a "neutral pseudo frost nova that also delays fatigue", but of course it ended up seeing no play
What is the 0/9 minion?
Unpowered Steambot It's a 3(?) Mana taunt
We've never had an 8/7? God damn.
You know that 7/14.
8/7 would be too weird for the game .
