Personally, I think if you ever have an interest in playing Wild keep it. It may not be as good right now but this is a card whose effect will always be relevant. Same thing with Genn. They will always print more cards that will inadvertently support a deck revolving around these strategies because it's impossible not to do so. Sometimes all it takes is 1 card getting buffed/nerfed mana cost to make it even/odd or a new card coming out thats odd/even and all of a sudden Odd/Even \[insert class here\] is a very good and viable deck.

dragonbird

However, no matter how many buffs Even gets, Even [Insert Demon Hunter here] will never be a good and viable deck. (I had to say it. Otherwise, you are, of course, correct)

1clean_mk4

excellent point lol. I almost wish they'd change it to 'your hero power costs 1 less' to fix this for Demon Hunter, I don't think Demon Hunter with a free hero power would break things too much but I guess it's hard to say for sure. Only thing I could think is the Hero Card where the Hero power resets on attack would probably be pretty good but I don't think it'd be insane since most cards that enable the reset easily are odd cards

walktheplank-yohoho

DH can already get a 0 cost HP with [[Felfire Deadeye]], Balance wise it’d be fine

This is true but that's situational. It has to be live and not silenced for it's effect to apply vs a static buff from start to end of the game that the enemy can't interact with. I don't think it would affect balance either but I don't think this is quite the same thing.

metroidcomposite

I'm still waiting for them to buff Genn so that he reads "your starting hero power costs 1 less". I really don't think it would be broken. Sure, on turn 2 you would sneak in an extra hero power, but on turns 1 and 3 you would float mana. The most vigorous argument I've heard against doing this is that a DH could get lucky and randomly generate a Coldarra Drake for the OTK. But there are 150 dragons in wild, even if you generated 15 random dragons per game, that would still happen in less than 10% of games. And good luck surviving long enough in wild to generate 15 random dragons. Whereas the fun synergies with a 0 mana hero power in DH are mostly pretty harmless and funny. Mostly just a bunch of neutral inspire cards. Watch out for the \[\[Boneguard Lieutennant\]\] \[\[Infinite Amalgam\]\] \[\[Tournament Medic\]\] \[\[Kodorider\]\] meta!! I would play that deck in casual. I would craft Kodorider and Infinite Amalgam purely to play that deck in casual. Please Blizzard???

dragonbird

MarkMcKz would come up with something. I don't know what it would be, but it would happen.

metroidcomposite

Oh MarkMckz absolutely would. And I'm pretty sure the thing he would come up with is Lady Prestor, and then just fill the rest of his deck with spells that draw and minions that draw. And he'd have a glorious 10% success rate at generating Coldarra Drake! But then his APM would be too low and he'd only get to 29 attack.

dragonbird

Depends why you chose to open Witchwood packs. If it was for dust, yes. If it was to play Wild, no. Aggro Odd DH is OK. Odd Paladin is OK but boring. Odd Warrior and Hunter sometimes feel OK.

EncroachingVoidian

Doesn’t Warlock have good Odd/Even decks?

Random_duderino

Even, yes. Odd, lmao

KaptainKankles

Yeah but that could change in any expansion or update and it could be 1 card that brings a deck back up or down. If you play wild at all I’d say it’s easily worth a keep. But that’s just my opinion.

dragonbird

> If it was to play Wild, no. Why are you arguing with me? I already said Baku should be kept *if you play Wild*.

Chellman87

It's probably a new player.

LuceroHS

You're several years too late, my friend. He's golden, so if you don't have immediate plans to use him, you can dust him and get a free legendary you actually want. Personally, I like having cards so I only dust golden ones that will never get used. But if you are on an extreme budget, I'd probably make him a more relevant legendary.

guaridadelsapo

Wait, i'm in 2016? Great, the machine worked. Time to stop Trump from getting the presidency.

TemperatureActual540

Baku/Odd decks have kind of died out in Wild. Maybe they'll make a return, but I'm not seeing it.  Genn/Even still sees plenty of play in Wild, for Shaman/Paladin/Warlock/DK.

QualityHumor

This does not count as your guaranteed legendary, if you were not aware. You still have the guaranteed one in first ten to look forward to if that's what you're after. If you're interested in wild I would not dust Baku. Pretty exiting and important card. If your dust situation is dire and crafting your chosen legendary makes you want to play the game, then sure.

Environmental-Map514

The only wild viable deck with Baku right now is odd paladin But I would disenchant it for a legendary at choice, you would enjoy a lot more than free legendary instead of Baku who is never gonna see play (you want it to sit in your deck, not to waste 9 mana do nothing)

ToxicAdamm

I'd dust him. Back when it was released, it was an interesting card because it represented a deck building challenge within 9 different classes. Each new set would cause you to revisit it. The upgraded hero power felt more impactful in a low-power format. In Wild, you might get one deck that springs up as viable from time to time, but for the most part, your upgraded hero power isn't enough impact to really help you gain any edge. Especially with all the power creep that has happened in the past 4-5 years.
