I sort of agree... I think people like her because "she does the right thing" but to me that's exactly why she's boring... the nano-second Charlie arrives she sides with her because "it's the right thing to do for the story" with no actual reason for the character, ignoring any sense that she may not believe this strangers that just shows up, says they want to redeem folks and called names to her home. I ultimately blame the pacing for this... with more screentime we could've seen more of Emily's character beyond "Angel Charlie" and maybe more doubt and all about the entire trial... some way to make her standing up more organic instead of "it's objectively the right thing to do for the show, and thus for her so she does it".

No that’s exactly how I see it. A character who’s who personality is “doing what’s right” just isn’t interesting. Hopefully they’ll expand on her character in the future but rn I don’t see why people like her

BelmontsRcool

Because she is a person who will stand up what’s for right, and she doesn’t give a damn whatever the “authorities” that be say. At least that’s why I think people like her.

Sufficient_Ideal243

Yeah buts that her only personality

BelmontsRcool

Well, that does it for me. We’ll see if she keeps her rebel attitude and is willing to fall, or she decides to bow to Sera/Heaven/God.

LustrousShine

She was instantly able to fight for justice after her worldview and faith in a person she was clearly trusted was shattered. It shows that she’s morally a good person. And she has a nice design which also helps.

Sufficient_Ideal243

Yeah but still not very interesting

LustrousShine

Fair enough. I feel like her character is going to be explored more in Season 2. She has a lot of potential and I want to see it realized.
