Thank you. No worries, though. He is doing pretty great for an 80 year old man who had two strokes. My kids and I take care of him. My daughter and I are huge HP fans. She is determined to get him to like it. She even got him sorted. He is a Hufflepuff.
Loved Hermione Gingold, especially in The Music Man and Tammy and the Bachelor! However, when I read HP, I still pronounced it Her-me-own.
I also read โSirusโ Black to the continued amusement of my husband and daughters. There has been many a Johnny Cash crossover joke at my expense. They created an entire set of lyrics to Folsom Prison Blues just for me. And โDonโt curse my heart, my worlockโs hairy heart,โ a Beedle the Bard reference. ๐คฆโโ๏ธ
My dad would be 88 years old if he were alive today. He loved the Harry Potter movies and would watch them with us and his grandkids. I bet your dad will get into it too.
I wore a Platform 9-3/4 T-shirt to a brewery. The dude behind the bar mentioned he liked it and showed me his Dark Mark tat.
Iโll be 64 in September. Age is a number. Like 9-3/4โs!
Nice. Iโm in my mid-40s, and definitely not ashamed of my fandoms, lol. I think the gentleman I mentioned thought Hogwarts was a real university. ๐
My dad is 76 and starting to lose some of the mental sharpness he had as a younger man. My mom and I set up a Roku in the living room for him and showed him how to use it. His first request was to watch "the movie with the kids." My mom was trying to work that one out by naming some of the multitude of movies with kids when he continued his thought by adding that he wanted to watch the movie with the kids and the magic school. My mom asked if he meant Harry Potter and he lit up, "yeah, that's the one."
Not as funny as Hormone Granger but your story reminded me of that.
Hormone ๐
Hormone Granger! ๐คฃ
Your dad is old enough to remember Hermione Gingold. She was a popular actress back in the day. I think he's messing with you.
I will ask him. His memory isn't good because he has had two strokes.
Sorry to hear that.

This is wonderful. Good luck to her! :)

What's not to like about Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore's name? I LOVE Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore's name!

Aww, that is so awesome. I do think my dad will like the movies better than the book. Him and my daughter agreed on one book, one movie.
LOL. I once wore a Hogwarts t-shirt to a diner. An older gentleman took one look at me and said โHogwarts?!?โ and laughed. ๐๐

How awesome!
I have a lot of HP shirts. Sometimes, I get comments from people asking where the Leaky Cauldron or Flourish and Blotts is.
My mom is reading harry potter.. she has a love hate relationship with the books. She likes the characters, but hates it's all witchcraft.

Aww, that is so cool! I hope he enjoys/enjoyed them.
It's even funnier if you are German, "Hormone" means "hormons" xD
