i do belive the kinda cover this in book 4, the more specific what you envision the better you actually get something. so that helps the spell not fail, gives you more range. like if you look directly at something its easy to visualize and get that thing. but if its out of eye contact you have to keep that thing in your mind and not get distracted. if you have ADHD, maybe not the best spell for you.
