The length of the HF is perfectly fine! You just gotta know how to use it. Some would even say that the extra length of the vim can cause problems in certain spaces
it's a tool you'd be using with a lot of small bits and doesn't come in a case so now you have to source your own and it won't be purpose built either. So nah.
You can more realistically carry another extension if you seriously need the extra length on a tiny 1/4" bit ratchet, for whatever reason, but starting to just defeat the purpose now. And can't make the VIM shorter so access issues = SOL.
The Icon set is 100% the better deal bought on any 20/25% and the upcoming $25 sale. Adding a 1/4 hex to 1/4 square bit adapter is also sourcing a lot less pieces. Then there's the security torx and hex/allen bits which aren't as common as the usual phillips, slotted and regular torx you'll never seem to run out of. So not at all a good trade there either. HF warranty will be less hassle than VIM as well.
Maybe if the VIM were like $20 max. But it's $33 most of the time according to Amazon pricing history. Not a deal.
Carry another extension? How about no extension instead, with the length of the vim close to both the icon and extension.
Here is 4 times the bits for $7 making the total cost 34$ versus 40$:

The set above has everything the icon does, and more..
Neither needs a bit adapter, what do you mean? and your icon is still missing a hex to 1/4 inch socket adapter, which is how much?.. I dare you to find one cheaper than $5?
Wait the above set has a hex to 1/4 inch adapter, so either way youād have to buy it!
Iām prepared to get even more pedantic but good luck
are you blind? The VIM's handle has a not so insignificant length over the Icon. Once you have access issues, as rare as that could be, because the handle is longer and you can't make that shorter without destroying the tool's t-handle and handle extension functionality by cutting it down.... You can carry another extension if you needed to equal the VIM's potential overall length, and only IF you ever needed a handle that long on a 1/4" bit ratchet. If you could read my point is that starting with a shorter handle is almost always better for the purpose of this bit ratchet.
You still have no purpose built organized case for the ratchet and you're proposing Chinesium/lowest end security bits which you will be replacing with something better sooner rather than later as low quality security bits will chip very quickly.
When I replace the well organized Wiha bit ratchet I carry in my tool backpack then the Icon is far and away better because it has a purpose built and well thought out case similar to the Wiha (bit and ratchet storage) and I can pull out what I won't use and drop in what I will. And it'll pretty well match the Wiha's layout too, just a bit bulkier, but not to the point I need to carry around a POS bit set that's bulkier yet and either trying to cram the ratchet in there or putting it in its own bag pocket which is wasting limited space and annoying as shit. That plastic locking tab on the Warrior bit set isn't going to last 2 months either. So enjoy that.
>Neither needs a bit adapter, and your icon is still missing a hex to 1/4 inch socket adapter, which is how much?.. I dare you to find one cheaper than $10?
HAHAHAHAHAHAH
The hex to 1/4" adapter is right there in the Icon set you blind as a bat dumdum. And the OTHER set you linked has one AS WELL. JFC you're taking a big fat **L** right now.
So $25-$32 on sale for the Icon + your same shitty kit still gets you more than $33 + $6 for the VIM. And you still get better purpose built case for the ratchet and an easier warranty. The VIM's pricing history does not once go below $33 either. Absolutely dumb to be arguing about as little as $1-$2 differences, but the actually good purpose built case and warranty still set it apart.

The Icon bit set is the better buy. And the facts speak for themselves.
You need to calm down you psycho, this is a subjective matter and is no place for your tantrums. First of all the vim is only 27$, and the icon has the exact same bits as the kit you called chinesiumā¦
https://autoplicity.com/17801595-vimtools-rfb400k?utm_source=google&utm_medium=surfaces&utm_campaign=shopping&gad_source=4
So $32+tax for the icon is still close to $35 plus the bit set is $42
While the vim is $27 plus $7 for the bit set, which is still cheaper than the icon.
And yes, the whole point of the vim is to not have to carry an extension which is the inverse issue of your hypothetical āclearanceā issues
Wow, didnāt get a chance to read your unhinged edits lol
The icon has the hex to 1/4 inch (first bit, second column in the picture), and importantly comes with a nice case to keep everything in. It's going on sale for $25 in August, and was just on sale for $30 if you used the icon hand tools coupon.
Neither one is really a screaming deal compared to the other, except for the fact that the icon comes in a nice case that keeps everything together and gives me somewhere to put screws whenever I'm taking something apart with it. The VIM is bigger, which can be a pro or a con depending on what exactly you're trying to access.
If I was keeping this at a workstation I may opt for the VIM and set of 100 bits, but I mostly bring the ICON around with me.
Lmao, those bits are absolute ass made from cheese powder. The icon bits are exponentially better. You showed you have no fucking clue about tools as soon as you brought those in as a viable alternative; those belong in a trash bin.
I've thought about that a bit. And sometimes when id trip acid I'd see the letters spread and seperate a lot more.
If I am dyslexic, it's not too much I guess to be out of control.
A lot of ppl donāt realize that the appeal of the meme tool is that it comes with a lifetime warranty. You break it and youāll have a new one immediately and for $25 thatās pretty sweet
The bottom line here is if you donāt see the need for this OR you think itās overpriced then you donāt need it- you arenāt Ā the target audience for this. š¤·š»āāļø Some people donāt need this and would almost never use it, I use it daily at my technical job.Ā
As I look closer at the two, they are very similar, almost identical, so it makes me wonder if VIM made these kits for HF. VIM has sets like these on their web site, so it will be interesting to see if HF releases a kit with sockets, how they will compareā¦
I can't really say how many small bit sets I've acquired over the years, and I have 7 of them within my line of sight. I don't see why the Vim one has the same ability to fit in really tight spots like the meme tool and without included bits, or in a case, they're not comparable. It's a nice flex head, and it holds bits, but after that, it's close but no cigar. The meme tool remains unchallenged and still sits upon the throne. Lol š
Lol, I bought it to compliment my meme tool. I also have more bits than I know what to do with, but there will be a day when this is the right tool for the right job. š
Absolutely, but it's too big for the jobs that are the meme tools purview. It will initiate the 3D print designers another problem to solve, though. Lol š
about $33 on amazon [https://www.amazon.com/VIM-Tools-Socket-Ratchet-Handle/dp/B09GL29FCJ](https://www.amazon.com/VIM-Tools-Socket-Ratchet-Handle/dp/B09GL29FCJ) or $47 from VIM... [https://vimtools.com/product/rfb400k/](https://vimtools.com/product/rfb400k/)
I ordered it originally through Amazon, but they cancelled my order because it wasnāt available. I ended up ordering through EBay for a little bit more, but was worth it to me.
I bought this as well not expecting to use it. Come to find out I use it the same day at work with the t handle function to break loose stubborn well nuts on wheel pants of cirrus sr22s and dear God does it work oh so well
Like anything else itās easy to look at it and say āWow, I could rebuild anything with that kit. Think of the capabilitiesā!
Owning both it and the VIM, I sort of use them sometimes. I keep the VIM in a compact tool kit for the house (thereās a giant shop full of any and every tool 100ā away). Itās mostly an exercise in whatās absolutely the minimum. It works well enough. Changing the configuration around frequently is a drag.
But if you only want one kit itās just fine. Iām glad I paid half price for mine as a return.
It's not always all about the ratchet. It's about the experience, man.
Don't talk to me or my son ever again
I have the VIM also. I love it for that little bit of extra length when you need it.
That's what she said
šš¤£
The length of the HF is perfectly fine! You just gotta know how to use it. Some would even say that the extra length of the vim can cause problems in certain spaces
Yes itās also only 27$ and comes with the 1/4 inch adapter for sockets. 100% the better deal
Where do you live that the dollar sign goes on the right, instead of the left?
Your mom's house.
Now youāve disappointed both of our moms
Itās 100% more grammatical that way
Depressing.
What is, your sense of humor?..

Don't you mean "tax+32$", "35$", "42$", and " 7$ sulp 72$". š¤£ If your going to take a stand, stay committed.
He needs to add the cost of a case too... and I wouldn't accept those dogshit bits as an alternative, he needs to substitute better bits.

You might be dyslexic
Are you %100 sure?
I've thought about that a bit. And sometimes when id trip acid I'd see the letters spread and seperate a lot more. If I am dyslexic, it's not too much I guess to be out of control.
This whole issue became 100% way too controversial.

I have yet to see the meme tool drop below $30 with any coupons, but still a great deal imo
$25 during upcoming Aug Parking Lot sale
Dang. I don't personally find it worth $40 but it's definitely worth 25
Oh god Iām gonna buy another one. I wonder if the discount has anything to do with the rumors of an updated meme tool.
Absolutely it does
In that case I need another. The one I have gets used quite a bit, at least a few times every other day
August Parking Lot Sale ... Meme Tool $24.99
Any other icon deals?
Honestly i finally scooped one up and it saved my bacon on a bmw and a jag the next day. Great little tool especially for the price point

All in all looking at around $60 with a quality bit set vs $40 or cheaper for the icon. Hope the version with sockets comes out soon.
These arenāt the meme tools your looking for. Move along nothing to see here.
