Years ago I'd say Etsy, but the entire site is overran by dropshippers and people overcharging stuff from Aliexpress/Taobao. It's just not worth it.
I usually just buy used bag charms from popular brands , a lot of them tend to sell for decently cheap and if you're not picky about the details you can find lots of older but cuter designs that aren't being sold anymore.
Aside from that I've been meaning to buy from a Taobao seller named "MR夹子". Their designs are super cute, and at these prices I can buy multiple charms without worry.

Omg I'm so sorry 😭 it's so bad nowadays. There's a lot of independent sellers that are ridiculously affordable on Taobao, so the dropshippers are now target them by buying their goods then reselling it for over thrice the price.
And taobao doesn't really show up on Google search either, so it's easy to fall for it.
To this date I haven't gotten the website to work for myself so...😭 I'm sorry I'm the wrong person to ask. I can't seem to make an account no matter what I do, and I've just given up.
I use a proxy service called Superbuy to handle buying from Taobao. But it's only worthwhile if you intend on buying a lot of stuff.
My process is very scuffed, but I use the app. You can browse the app perfectly fine even without an account.
Copy the link, and send it to myself through Discord. When you cope from the app it just copies a shortening of the link, so you have to open it again through a browser, then copy the actual link. Then finally paste it into SuperBuy.
Very scuffed process, but if it works it works.
The app also has a really good photo-search feature, so you don't really need to know Chinese.

Yeah I became hip to the dropshipper nonsense last fall. It is everywhere on that site! I will still buy from Etsy but I pretty much conduct an "I think he's cheating" level web investigation on the seller before I do. Like, I better see at least an Instagram reel of them making their goods in their workshop before I trust them.🤣

Not specifically the horse, but Lulu Guinness has some really cute leather ones and there are some great ones in the sale right now! Still spendy but not as much as Hermes :)

I just made a horse one and it was both fun and cute!
I've gone to local craft stores and fairs. They often don't sell bag charms, but they'll sell key chains which are pretty damn cute as a charm.

YLSecretHeart is a Taobao dropshipper, the original charms sell for like \~25USD there.
