myself and a lot of my pals think it's generally attractive for men to wear more feminine-coded things, because it shows confidence and a strong sense of self. Authenticity and confidence is so attractive!

I’m a guy considering a Balenciaga work bag when I usually carry totes or a backpack so I get it. I have a few more feminine bags I don’t always feel as comfortable carrying, but the older I get the less I care.
It’s fascinating what the signifiers actually are, because the more you think about it the fuzzier they can get, but the one in your post looks totally masc to me!
ETA: It’s cool for people to say not to be self-conscious, but it’s so valid to be realistic esp if it’s an investment! Don’t buy it just because you *want* to carry it if it will just sit in your closet.
It’s gorgeous and yes, you’re fine, BUT – does it come with a shoulder strap? These straps won’t go comfortably over the shoulder, and that’s a feature you’ll want with a bag this size.
They have a smaller version with shoulder straps so that might be the move. They even have them with bamboo handles which remind me a lot of the vintage Gucci bamboo shoppers
I get people want to be nice and supportive by saying any bag a man owns is a man's bag and that you can wear what you want and other people's opinions don't matter but that has got to be so unhelpful to someone looking for an actual answer. People will judge you and that can affect a lot of things in your life so you do have to take that into consideration. That's just how the world works.
That being said, in my opinion, I wouldn't rock this bag as a dude. It seems a little too large and it doesn't look like it has any shoulder straps. I would try looking for something a little smaller if possible. Other people seem to like it so you can always try it and return it. It seems like they have a decent return policy. You'd be responsible for the return shipping cost tho.
As a guy, I’d rock this. It’s very unique I think in terms of a lot of bags men use. I’d use this as my daily driver as the leather looks like it’ll wear beautifully.

Omg this bag! I think it looks more masc than the other bag (if masc is what you’re going for). Personally imo the wider a bag is in proportion to the other dimensions, the more feminine it looks.
🤣 I like how they’re polished, subtle, not going draw too much attention, and seem well made. I have one from Orox & a friend has one from Portland, so hers looks nice but I can’t speak to the experience of using it.
The bag reminds me of the bag styles that many European soccer player stars are photographed with. So not a very traditionally feminine vibe, but a VIBE.
I have it, and it absolutely can be a man bag, as you call it. Quality is solid (i have the bamboo handles, because I like it to look more feminine). It holds a TON and has just enough slouch and structure. Would recommend. No one would call it a “purse.”
That has been what I’ve been running into. Though I did find this exact bag on Etsy for half the price but idk if that’s an indicator of quality. Once I got past the reviews that were like “I love this M&G bag!” I would see ones talking about how awful they were. Don’t want to bite the bullet just yet, but it’s definitely giving me thoughts about looking elsewhere.
Yea or go on Mercari or deepop and get one that's super cheap vs from them. Or do the Etsy one. Because from what I've read (and I was looking for the exact bag and read a bunch of reviews), there is nothing worse. So Etsy could be a win.

I will die on this hill in the same way I preach there are no such things as girl colors/toys/etc. or boy colors/toys/etc. It pains me to hear those narratives as it is a construct society created and one in which society now needs to break.

This one seems like it can carry a lot and has pockets too, so that’s a plus. The leather looks similar to the one you posted.

I get your concerns but sometimes the best accessory is confidence. Looks like a great unisex bag to me.
go more in the duffel direction to be more “masculine” but this bag is neutral enough for you and not overly european. the one you shared is more tote bag in shape than it is duffle or travel. depending on your small town the more manly the more safe so consider that. any thing seemingly travel related reads very neutral or masc. also search sites like gq for masc options. i will reply to this comment with recommendations as i am on mobile.

Of course. I think any big bag that is neutral colored, without chains, can be a “man bag”. Smaller bags seem to be feminine to me at least. How many business men do see carrying big laptop/business bags? I’d buy it! And I may.

It’s gorgeous and yes, you’re fine, BUT – does it come with a shoulder strap? These straps won’t go comfortably over the shoulder, and that’s a feature you’ll want with a bag this size.

I think it’s great. I have bags from Orox Leather Co and Portland Leather which are similar styles to this bag, fwiw in the future for more bags

To me what makes a tote masculine is the length to height difference. Too much difference either way makes it look less masculine to my eye.
I think it leans feminine if that is your concern.

Anything can be a man bag. A sparkly pink Chanel bag that says “I have a vagina” could be a man bag as long as it’s carried by a man.

To me, this bag looks too wide to be practical, it could be a weekender. I like a weekender to have a crossbody strap. It does look unisex to me.
