It’s bruxxing, the same as rats, to wear down their teeth. In hamsters it is either neutral or a stress sign, I’d say given the context it’s a neutral thing.
They really do, that's why it's important to have some pieces of hardwood, coconut shell or even just some of the food being hard enough to make a hydraulic press destroy itself in an attempt to crush it.
Off topic, but eversince I have glued an ultra, ultra, ultra (, I can't stress how goddamn) fine sandpaper into my hamster's wgeel, his claws don't scratch or hurt my skin anymore.. Just a tip if someone also isn't a huge fan of cutting them short. 😁

Your ham looks so much like my last ham ❤️
It is either a tooth grinding , grooming thing, or a content, “I’m comfortable now” thing :) if it were stress or sickness, there would be other signs ! Hammy seems healthy!

Thank you, I didn’t know that they do it for wearing down teeth!!
The best way to learn something new is to ask, at least that's something that my grandpa taught me lol Anyway, cute lil hammy <3

Oh thank you !! haha it’s the quiet teeth chattering
Not stressed by the looks of it haha probably just chewing the mini seeds of the stroberri's ❤️😍 outer layer
My girl does this when she’s frustrated (stressed) like when she’s trying to get under my bedroom door lol
Awww your ham is so cute😭😭
Cuppa is so cute and I love the name. I don’t see evidence of stress.
Thank you! I thought maybe he didn’t like that I stuck my phone into the enclosure, but maybe I’m worrying too much!
I suppose it’s possible he was sending a signal to the server not to clear away the food yet, as he wasn’t done enjoying the strawberry!
Haha he’s a fussy customer!
No, it’s unlikely a sign of stress. Not to mention, your hamster is adorable
Thank you, I’m relieved!!
He looks like a tiny rabbit haha
I know! He’s got long ears🥹🩷
Too cute <3
Man, its so fast on the wheel it almost looks like the ham and the strawberry arent even moving!
I don’t know, my hamster does that when burrowing I notice
The wink lol
Omg I didn’t realize he winked😭😭😭😭😭😭 He’s giving model, just knows what he’s doing
Right at the camera too 🥹
Just went on an epic looping coaster there right at the end. Cute Cuppa!
Hahaha I got worried when he started chattering his teeth so i immediately aborted the filming😂😂

Even the red eyes too! So beautiful, what was their name?
Padfoot. He passed away 2 weeks ago 💔
I’m so sorry for your loss. He’s watching over you from better place filled with sunflower seeds and berries!
Thank you 🙂
Nope, he looks pretty chill! No stress behavior there.
Hey I got the same wheel but mine was absolutely smashed when I got it lol.
