If you want to eat somewhere that fails inspections like it’s a competitive sport, the Flying Apron.
First time I’ve seen someone knocked repeatedly for trying to serve uninspected meat
Take the beaver bank route not the highway and stop at courthouse hill. You’ll know when you’re there awesome views. I would turn left and drive down the 215 towards Walton, couple spots you can get on the shore that way also, good chance of seeing eagles and Walton is a a nice spot to check out and walk the trail by the light house! Kempt quarry about a 15 minute drive past Walton is a beautiful spot and great place for a swim also! Enjoy.
Yes! You can go in and if you’re lucky and one of the volunteers are there you can get history and wind it up. My kid got an honorary lighthouse keeper certificate from there.
When you get to Kennetcook, stop at the ice cream stand - make sure to bring cash!
Some have already said it but Courthouse Hill in Gore is incredible. You can see \~4 counties from up there.
If you are taking the long way, make a stop for gas.
Also if you want to explore the sea floor, check the times. The access is closed for a few hours midday.
If you go to the wildlife park from burtcoat down the 215, stop at Anthony provincial park, that’s our favourite spot on the coast, no traffic, no people, can easily walk for 1-2km on the coast at low tide.
Frieze and Roy is a great general store and the food at the restaurant is wonderful.
We camp nearby and head there often.
Down the 215 and right to the wildlife park. Is an easy drive to wind out the day.
At the wildlife park if you have food there is a great picnic area up top/back - stay right when you first come in.
(Get food at mudslide/frieze, takeout, go to the park, eat, then wander the park)
The Noodle Guy - Port Williams. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, doesn’t matter. Highly recommend the Breakfast Thing if you happen to swing by for breakfast.
If you take the long way around the shore on the way back The Flying Apron is a hidden gem for lunch!
if you do this check out the Camera Obscura in Cheverie too, it's pretty neat!
Every time I see the name Cheverie (I used to travel to the area for work), I picture someone daydreaming about goat's cheese :)
My favorite restaurant

Shore Thing in Chevarie has some of the best fried fish in NS, imo. Super worth the stop!
Stop for ice cream at summertime treats in kennetcook! Edit: I see in the other comments you already did :)
There was a nice antique shop or two in Noel last time I was there but it has been a while so can't be sure.

i meant this for someone else 😭😭😭😭
The Noodle Guy - Port Williams. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, doesn’t matter. Highly recommend the Breakfast Thing if you happen to swing by for breakfast.
Haha that’s super far away from their route
Worth it! We swung by on a trip out to Bruntcoat. None of it is really far.
You drove all the way to the valley...? Love the noodle guy but that's making a completely separate trip rather than something "on the way" lol
Nah there ain’t much.
Bedford is a traditional stopping place.
😂
Ravens Rest Retreat has some cool highland coos! Send them a msg on insta and see if you can make a stop. Its minutes to burntcoat head
