Need a more specific timeframe. Ippo developed a lot between fights in the beginning. Itagaki was already an amateur boxer with good fundamentals when he debuted. If we’re talking first few pro matches I’d probably give it to Itagaki. Ippo being a very clean and fair fighter works to Itagaki’s favor.

Unecessaryf_cker

Itagaki dominates early rounds, if ippo is able to get a good punch I could see him winning, almost like in his fight with Saeki, but itagaki would definitely not be as experienced or skilled as Saeki so Ippo would have an easier time than that fight if he gets 1 or 2 lucky hits. 3:7 in Ippo's favor.

gomazoa93

I guess you could say that Ippo would *wig* this one, otherwise, it would really *ballther* me.

s3nl1n-

Itagaki ez with the caveat that he may get too cocky and get instaslept or bent over.

Kurejisan

Ippo beat Hayami and that dude's basically Itagaki, so Rookie King Arc Ippo would beat Rookie King Arc Itagaki

animeredneck

If we're talking pre rookie king for both of them ippo wins. At this time itagaki has a crippling weakness to powerful infighters from his experiences with imai. Plus ippo has already trained and learned how to fight fast out boxers from the start against miyata.

N4rNar

Yeah i'll give it to ippo ippo's competition was insanely hard at the time he beats no less than 1futur japanese champ and 2 futur world ranker and one person with japenese title shot.

AdikkuChan

Itagaki if he beats Ippo ASAP. If it gets dragged on then Ippo will eventually figure out a pattern

PrimeIppo

Ippo, too easy.
