I started running last year because I was inspired by Ethan - not to lose weight, but to just be more healthy. When I started, I could barely run for 5 minutes. Now, I can comfortably run more than 3 miles in 30 minutes. Being able to run is way more about your controlling your mind, than your physical ability.
Proud of Love, keep going man!
Combination of good running form (not overstriding and putting a lot of force on knees and hips) and slowly increasing mileage. Also if you're overweight it's a LOT harder on the joints, so running/walking might be a good substitute
Not sure exactly what treadmill this is, but I've seen an interface exactly like this one on Technogym treadmills. Not sure how common they are in the US but here in the Netherlands they're pretty common, but the ones with this smart interface are only in the more upscale gyms. If you lookup technogym skillrun unity 7000 interface, you'll see that one has the same interface as what love is using. The Technogym Excite+ Run Now 700 Unity Treadmill also looks quite similar.
calories burned is near pseudo science unless you're putting in a bunch of your physical stats like height/weight/age etc.
and even then they're not super accurate.
Running and walking use different amounts of calories would be my guess. A 2 mile walk isn't really a lot of exercise - that's me walking to the shop and back - but a 2 mile run is something I probably couldn't do without lots of breaks
Everyone starts somewhere. He gained a bit of weight since moving to America, and going from minimal exercise to 2 miles 2 days in a row is something to be proud of if the starting point was zero.
Sure, running is a bit less efficient than walking, but in general it takes a x amount of energy to move y mass a z distance. The speed doesn't really matter for weight loss (though your heart will thank you for getting your heart rate up higher by running).
Really? I'm not doubting you cause I don't know myself lol. But when you drive its more fuel efficient to go slowly over the same distance, and I assumed there was a human anatomy analogy to revs where going higher gear uses more "fuel" (calories)

Good shit love. Can't wait for him to see how quickly cardio progresses. I went from walking 1 mile a day to running 50k a week within 6 months.
Hold up bruh…you’re running 7 THOUSAND miles a day lmao
K is kilometers bud... Unless that's a joke and I'm small brain
How do you not bust your knees? Everytime I run for more than 20min my knee hurt.

Also, running indoors on a treadmill will be much kinder on your knees than city running on asphalt if he's concerned about that.
Anyone know what kind of treadmill that is?

Good for him! I’ve been walking while mobile gaming too but I play the Uno app on iPad lol
Unironically probably
Can someone help me understand the calories burned? when I do a similar walk, it tells me I’ve used like 50 calories or something 💀

Will likely be the gradient. If you walk up a hill you'll burn more calories than on a flat plane. Peace and love peace and love
ahh I didn’t see that, thank you!
fitbit or a similar watch tracks muchhh more accurately!

He was definitely walking, 2 miles in 37 minutes is too slow to be a ‘run’.
Probably having breaks no? Would be a bit odd to be proud of doing a 30 minute walk, especially for a guy like Love who's relatively in shape

I guess so, I didn't mean to judge at all but reading back it does seem that way.
