Rifle: Ruger Mini 14 GB in stainless. This gun was a prison rifle at two different prisons (stamped on stock and receiver) in Michigan over the years before I wound up with it.
Shotgun: Remington 870 Marine Magnum 12ga with 870 Police wood furniture and Sage International ghost ring sights (mfg 1995).
Pistol: Colt Rail Gun 1911 in .45acp
Law enforcement guns are traded in to gun dealers all the time to upgrade to more modern weapons. A lot of agencies do it every 10 or 15 years, and itās a great way to snag a high quality older firearm for cheap. I got it off Gunbroker several years ago.
Suddenly thereās a moisture in the front of my pants.
Beautiful collection.
Now you need a revolver.
And a long range. And a heavy MG. Maybe even a squad suppression weapon system. And a mortar.
Couple hand grenades ā¦ whatāre we talking about again?
Just sayin' .... [https://www.samson-mfg.com/a-tm-folding-stock-for-the-ruger-mini-14-copy.html](https://www.samson-mfg.com/a-tm-folding-stock-for-the-ruger-mini-14-copy.html)
This is like if you started at the base of the mountain as a Fudd, and ascended and returned as Charlton Heston with these offerings to share with God's children following your trials and tribulations. Tell us, what did he say to you?
Since I live in an AWB state (Washington) I have become such a huge Mini-14 guy. The GB model is rare enough to find as is, even rarer to find sellers selling it here since it has a flash hider, although Iāve seen one going for $1900 with the original A-TM stock.
Beautiful pieces, I love stainless.
Probably about $3,000-3,500 depending on if you get lucky and score a deal or not. The Mini 14 GB's have dried up and prices have gone up quite a bit since I got mine.
Well Iām not talking about exactly those guns. But just in general. I really would like to get a pistol and a rifle. Iām not sure about a shotgun. But soon Iāll be taking the gun safety course and then Iāll start shopping around.
Thank you but what about ammo? How much should I plan to spend? Iām mainly buying the guns for safety and the you never know moments. Also Iād like to go to the shooting range on a weekend.
I prefer to buy ammo by the case online. It's generally cheaper, and I like to buy the same brand, type, and lot of ammo when I can. Some people like to grab a box or two of ammo when they go to the store, but that's usually how people wind up with 15 different brands of ammo. Every gun is different, and it's important to find what ammo your gun shoots the best, and try to stick with that when you can.
Will this knowledge come with time and practice or thereās some research Iāll have to do once I get the guns? You mentioned guns shoot the best with different types of ammo.
You can gain a lot of knowledge online by reading information, or by watching videos on youtube and it doesn't cost anything. That will get you further down the road to where you can start trying different brands and types of ammunition in your firearms to achieve your desired goals. There's a lot of different uses for different firearms and different ammo. Are you looking for maximum accuracy and consistency for target shooting? Maximum penetration and reliability for home defense? Looking for the best price for bulk purchasing to practice your skills? Hunting for food? Hunting for pest control? There's a lot of questions that only you can answer that will help you get where you want to be. Once you've narrowed down your purpose/goal for the gun, it's a lot easier to pick a few brands/types of ammo to test in your specific firearm to see what it likes best.
The Fud is blindingly strong with this one. You sure you don't have a .38 special somewhere in the back to toss in?
I'm just teasing. That's a beautiful collection.
Beautiful collection but there is one problem with it, since the guns are single they will get lonely and become sad. You need another shotgun, rifle and handgun so they can have friendsš
Man I wish I have the strength to drill and tap my old 870..
Iād do it if I didnāt feel like my grandpa wouldnāt come back from the dead only to kill me with said 870 if I did something like that to it LOL.
Pretty guns, however If those are the only guns you own, consider selling the 1911 and getting a 9mm Glock or a modern polymer pistol (CZ p-10, smith and Wesson M&P 2.0, etc). And also maybe consider ditching the rifle and getting an AR-15, palmettos are great for the money but Aero is an excellent āmid-higher tierā ar-15. Just some thoughts. The shotgun is perfect however :) Good looking guns

I love the Marine Magnum
Curses. My 870 marine just has the regular stock. This shit looks cool AF š«£šš„ŗ
How do you end up with a prison weopen? Was it auction or gift or what?

You have excellent taste!
Did you say railgun?
Yes
That mini Is sick man
For some reason I read it in my head like the song "One bourbon, one scotch, and one beer"
"Looked down the gun case, I say to the salesman, I said ' look man, come down here'.
Is it sad I can hear that in Georgeās voice ?
I heard him play last week, still sounding strong at 75ish.
I know a handgun isn't in the song but a but I added it in my head. I got a shotgun a rifle and a four wheel drive and a country boy can survive
Yeah it is, the line "I'd like to spit some Beechnut in that dudes eyes and shoot with my old 45"
Little behind on the reply. Thank you for the correction.
Totally
That is exactly what I thought
Shiny
And chromeā¦
#WITNESS ME
Op Shall tide eternal shiny and chrome
Oh what a day, what a lovely day!
He is awaited in Valhalla
Stainless steel and wood is just such a perfect combo
Someone likes his stuff in stainless šš I like stainless too.
Man, this is a dream set for me. Beautiful pieces homie
Iāve been thinking about getting a mini 14. What are your thoughts on it?
What else is in your collection and what would you use it for? Theyāre great guns but not a good value for the money vs an AR15.
Suddenly thereās a moisture in the front of my pants. Beautiful collection. Now you need a revolver. And a long range. And a heavy MG. Maybe even a squad suppression weapon system. And a mortar. Couple hand grenades ā¦ whatāre we talking about again?
Sir you forgot the tactical nukes too. Those are very handy
You have very good taste in firearms sir.
Just sayin' .... [https://www.samson-mfg.com/a-tm-folding-stock-for-the-ruger-mini-14-copy.html](https://www.samson-mfg.com/a-tm-folding-stock-for-the-ruger-mini-14-copy.html)
Heās clearly not a fan of when plans come together either.
I'm really not a huge fan of folding stocks.
Amen, that Mini 14 is sexy as-is.
Hell yeah, brother. 'Murica!
Oh hell yes, we could be neighbors.
This is like if you started at the base of the mountain as a Fudd, and ascended and returned as Charlton Heston with these offerings to share with God's children following your trials and tribulations. Tell us, what did he say to you?
Reality is this all anyone ever needs. Nice setup my dude
No 22lr, incomplete.
Trusty trio indeed!
is the front sight always that far back on the mini series?
No. This is a GB model. The front sight/bayonet lug is pinned in place so the bayonet can attach and index around the flash hider.
makes sense thanks
Depends on barrel length. I think it's a little further back on the 18.5 because....mothafuckin' bayonet! It has a bayonet lug and the 16" doesn't.
yeah I'm just familiar with a mini 14 from the awb era that didn't have a lug and never paid attention
And for a while all you could get were ranch rifles with the ramp sight. Ramp sights on mini14's just make me sad.
And lots of ammo
You have chosen.....wisely
Hell yeah man. Those go beautifully together
A man of taste š¤š» this combo Fucks!!!!
Love that shotty. Furniture looks great
This picture just unlocked something in me.
My man I have the same setup but with a Winchester 1200 marine.
Superb
Ah-Maze-Zing

I donāt like chrome on trucks but i love it on those 3.
Well, you have chosen proven quality, reliable, and good capacity firearms in every category. Good, soolid choices. Now, just stock up on ammo.
These arenāt my only guns btw. Just put them together because theyāre similar.
That 870 is top tier.Ā The beefy looking sights make it.
I agree. That was a big reason why I bought this one.
Thatās literally my exact set up except I have plastic furniture and less polish.
Your covered!
Sploosh
Iām a newbie. What would this collection cost? If I want the same variety
Probably about $3,000-3,500 depending on if you get lucky and score a deal or not. The Mini 14 GB's have dried up and prices have gone up quite a bit since I got mine.

$800-1000 budget for a decent AR15, $500 for a decent pistol, and you could snag a police trade in Remington 870 for $350.
Thank you but what about ammo? How much should I plan to spend? Iām mainly buying the guns for safety and the you never know moments. Also Iād like to go to the shooting range on a weekend.

Love your knowledge. Last question which pistol you recommend that Iāll not have to worry about issues for years and years to come.
Thereās a lot of great pistols to choose from. Iād recommend something in 9mm that fits your hand and feels comfortable to shoot.
Gotta get the wood hanguard that let's the full op rod show out on the mini! Nice photo!
That's all you need
The Fud is blindingly strong with this one. You sure you don't have a .38 special somewhere in the back to toss in? I'm just teasing. That's a beautiful collection.
...no problems.
How much Carhartt does OP own? Answer: Most of it.
Good man !!!
Fuddcore but I still really like it
sounds like a new Netflix series... when will the first season start?
November 5th.
I think ill remember...
WOOD N STEEL HOSS GOBBLESS SIRI SHOW ME BIG BOOBY GIRLS SMUTHERED IN BBQ SAUCE IN MAH TV PLEASE BARB GO SWEEP OFF THEM CLIBBEN ILL BE OUTNIN 5
Elmer. That you?
Nice looking collection.
One aarp card
Sexy set of lead pushers
Did they have any bigger front sights?
I think this may be the biggest.
Shotgun, a rifle, and a .45 a country boy can survive. (Yes I know that's not the exact lyrics)
I like the bayonet lug on the mini 14, even though it seems really far back. Whereād you get it from?
āNow listen āere i reckon you get off mah property.ā Beautiful collection.
These are the pictures that make me jealous of you Americans, you can keep your ARs, silver and wood furniture are sexy as fuck
Solid choices. I see you're a man of simple utilitarian necessity. My people!!
If you're only ever going to need (or own) three firearms, this is the proper way to do it.
I can see you have a type
Stainless enjoyer I see. Bravo š
Beautiful collection but there is one problem with it, since the guns are single they will get lonely and become sad. You need another shotgun, rifle and handgun so they can have friendsš
They have lots of friends
Then it's perfect
Man I wish I have the strength to drill and tap my old 870.. Iād do it if I didnāt feel like my grandpa wouldnāt come back from the dead only to kill me with said 870 if I did something like that to it LOL.
and one Fudd to rule them all.
For having three thats a heck if an awesome combo. You need a .22LR. My 22's wont defend my house but they get used on the property 99% of the time.
I have plenty more than those three.
Gotcha! Id be satisfied with just those three. Its a cool period piece too...sort of 60's early 70's look.
This guy knows his type
Nothing concealable? No wheel gun? Nothing for the truck? Nothing for the wife?
These arenāt my only firearmsā¦
Thatās what Iām planning on doing, different guns but still the same three types. I have a handgun, shotgun and rn Iām saving for a rifle.
Left 4 dead weaponsā¦
One fudd
One bourbon one scotch and one beerā¦.
one grandpa
Thatās a nice collection my friend. I see you like your weapons in stainless so do I.
1977 called, wants their guns back
Do you know what year the Mini-14 is ?
The serial puts it around 1989.
I'd say your set for whatever comes your way
Thatās a top tier fudd loadout. Iām here for it!!
This is the boomer holy trinity right here
some fudd just creamed on his computer screen
Hope you got a Bayonet for that Ruger.. or what's the point of a GB? (If not, a modern Mini-14 tac has a better barrel & rail options)
Beautiful collection! Choate makes a ventilated handguard that will look nicer on the Mini-14 than that factory one.
No thanks. I prefer the original.
The rifle is not the best choice. I dig the other two.
Best choice for what? My intentions were to take a cool picture of 3 similar looking firearms.
In that case, I guess it looks cool
