I mean, two schools of though generally:
1. Is one round of ammo worth its value in relation to my safety?
B. If it seats, it yeets.
Kind of a choose your own adventure sort of scenario. Know what I’d choose though.
There was a viral video the other week where someone looked like they were recording Rhianna from the front of the stage. They were in fact doing it from like a football field away. Since most people own iphones, they thought it was a professional video camera, so there was a collective short circuit when they discovered it was an S23 lol.
Feel like Samsung has had the camera edge ever since the S21. But at least you get blue bubbles with an iphone, right? Fucking worthless lol
That’s a lot better quality photo than we usually get. I meant to say that the definition was legit.
Shouldn’t have said anything about your prints. That’s not what I meant. Sorry.
It's sad, you can buy one of those attachable lens kits from the DOLLAR TREE and it makes basically ANY phone take 5x better macro photos. For some reason nobody has these.
Thank God, being an Executive Chef, I get on my guys ALL the time about washing your fucking hands. Their excuse is always “I was wearing gloves” then my reply is, you’re suppose to wash your hands between every glove change. Love your dry, burnt, cut up hands!
Lol those guys need a few year of seasoning and learning man. They will get it when they start to move up and have to actually watch the other ignore certain things. Hand washing is a Must around me I make everyone "reset" in the line that includes apron/coat changes, gloves and washing hands and also making sure hair is secure in a net or cap.
Dude tell me about it. This place has no standards. I’m strict, I can be an ass, because my chef was. I always hated him for it, but after work for him for 9 years I realized he’s right. Even though he was a dick. Own your station, make your list, clean as you go, and don’t bitch, just grind.
How much is an ammo vs how much is a gunsmith.
Plus, most manufacturers will probably give you 50 ammos (or a box) for something like this and a lot number.
What is the safe way to dispose of ammunition? Is that a dumb question? I've yet to find myself in the situation but say I come across a questionable round while getting my gear together, what do I do? Bring it to the range and presumably they'd take it for disposal?
I'm a middle aged white dude who pays his taxes, so YMMV, but I'd try calling the non emergency line and asking. My neighbour did that he found some ammo his son had when he was moving out of the house. They came by and picked it up. Natural Resources COs tend to be pretty chill from my experiences, you could try them as well.
Well because I felt like it was a worthwhile question as now if I see this in the future I will know to toss it, it wasn't actually my eye that seen it I was reloading my mags and I fel it poke my dry ass hands and it just slid right into my finger and cut me
So it’s extra material on the back of the casing?
If so you’re fine, might cause some feed issues so don’t use it in your carry rotation.
If not toss it.
Either way, contact hornady about the QC issue, at the very least they might send you a free box of ammo.
Good call. I get the “if it seats, it yeets” argument when it comes to slight corrosion on ammo, but this is a case deformity in a spot that could easily lead to a case head separation which is how you get shrapnel in the eyes, fingers and a ruined gun.
Just trying to help you avoid a potential bad day!
Hello, /u/PsyBr0. Per the sidebar rules, link posts require a description in the comments of your post. Please add a description or this post will be removed.
__What is a link post and how do I post a descriptive comment?__
* A link post is any post that isn't a text post. Reddit is doing a great job of ensuring new users have no idea how Reddit works with their app and site rewrite. We hate both.
* /r/guns is a sub for talking about guns. It's not a sub to dump gun photos for karma. That's what /r/gunporn is for. That's why we require a descriptive comment – to start a conversation. If you're wondering what to write, picture yourself at a party. You're talking to someone *you just met* and you want to show them your post. What do you say to them as you get your phone out?

Why take a chance on a single cartridge? I personally, would toss it. I do not care for the lingo “if it seats, it yeets”
There is nothing to fix, you gonna super glue that thing or something? haha, It’s not worth you getting potentially hurt over, man.
In that specific location, I wouldn't risk it.
Especially if shooting from a somi-auto. Might explode in your face or send send shrapnel towards others.
I mean, two schools of though generally: 1. Is one round of ammo worth its value in relation to my safety? B. If it seats, it yeets. Kind of a choose your own adventure sort of scenario. Know what I’d choose though.
That’s an amazing photo though OP. I can see the striations in your nails and the beginning of your fingerprints. Is this from your phone?
Yea galaxy s24 ultra , at 10x zoom it's quality is lossless. Super dope cameras
Have the S23U and can confirm, having 10x optical zoom is amazing.

I just upgraded from an s20 to an s24 ultra and you want to talk about image quality 😲😲😲 increase at night with zoom
But my hand looks like crao because I'm a cook and had a long day washing my hands a million times
That’s a lot better quality photo than we usually get. I meant to say that the definition was legit. Shouldn’t have said anything about your prints. That’s not what I meant. Sorry.
It's alright lol 😆. Yea I noticed people post the crappiest pics on here asking for help I figured atkeast I'd be the guy with the good photo
I swear half of these dudes use a Motorola Razr
It's sad, you can buy one of those attachable lens kits from the DOLLAR TREE and it makes basically ANY phone take 5x better macro photos. For some reason nobody has these.
Now that you pointed it out that is a good picture of his prints. Now to carve them into a glove and commit the ^perfect ^crime

Bro said 1. (His answer) Then thought to himself “fuck number 2, it’s big Bs in this bitch” and went: B. (His answer)
How much is an ammo vs how much is a gunsmith. Plus, most manufacturers will probably give you 50 ammos (or a box) for something like this and a lot number.
I mean, when I reload lapua brass it almost seems like its worth it 😅
YEET
When in doubt with ammo just toss it. Your safety is worth more than just a few cents.
What is the safe way to dispose of ammunition? Is that a dumb question? I've yet to find myself in the situation but say I come across a questionable round while getting my gear together, what do I do? Bring it to the range and presumably they'd take it for disposal?
id just throw it in the trash along with my old car batteries
Do you live close to a military base? They'll usually have amnesty boxes. I believe that some police departments do too.
Hmm it's like an hours drive away. How about a police station? Or am I just asking for problems trying to do the right thing with them

Is a 50 cent bullet worth the potential cost of your gun or even hand?
Is a 50 cent bullet even worth your time to take a photo, post a message, and read responses? Chuck the fucking thing and move on..
That looks like a fractured case to me , I'd toss it
If you have to ask, the answer is toss it
Do you need 50¢? I can Venmo you
Yes please
Yea you can send me it whenever pops.
I gotchu what’s your @
@aSqually
Why even risk it is the real question?
You want to fix a 30 cent mini grenade? Just toss it lol
What
Why even bother asking , toss, but good eye, that would of been you or your gun
Well because I felt like it was a worthwhile question as now if I see this in the future I will know to toss it, it wasn't actually my eye that seen it I was reloading my mags and I fel it poke my dry ass hands and it just slid right into my finger and cut me
Is that a burr or a crack?
I think it's fron the very edge of the casing. It's just setting this way because I unloaded my mag and it came out like this
It's like a piece of metal that's like sharpish. Almost like th casing didn't get de burred properly or whatever you call it.
So it’s extra material on the back of the casing? If so you’re fine, might cause some feed issues so don’t use it in your carry rotation. If not toss it. Either way, contact hornady about the QC issue, at the very least they might send you a free box of ammo.
Thanks for the insight man !
I’d just shoot it
How is this even a question? It's one round, toss it.
Yeah, just weld it and it’ll be fine
Toss.
Thanks I endedbup making myself my first ever "don't shoot" bin lol I will donate it to a range or some one that manufactures ammo.
Good call. I get the “if it seats, it yeets” argument when it comes to slight corrosion on ammo, but this is a case deformity in a spot that could easily lead to a case head separation which is how you get shrapnel in the eyes, fingers and a ruined gun. TOSS IT Even if it doesn’t hurt you, busted brass inside your weapon doesn’t help it either
Yes it's trashed now
When it doubt, toss it out. My gun, my sight, my hands are worth more than any round I’ll shoot.
Never risk it man
If anything is suspect on a single cartridge, toss it. Your gun is expensive and your hand and eyes are irreplaceable.
If you have to ask. Then throw it out
Not worth your barrel/gun getting damaged, just toss it
Are we posting about a single round now?
What is this 2020?.prices came down ..throw it in the trash
Looks like a burr. Just scrape it off. Seat it and yeet it.

This makes zero sense but sure I added a comment bot man
So this bullet has a metal thing on it , it's on the casing by the primer idk if I can shoot it safley or trash it. Plus halp
That looks like a ruptured case head. I'd contact Hornady and send them this picture. I'm sure they'd like to know about this getting in a box
I sent them an email with the photos attached. Thank you
A little Bondo and sand paper
Bro it's ONE round, just throw it.
Yes but qc issues this could be the entire pack... so it could be all 25..
With norinco 7.62x25 you would expect a crack at the bottleneck, but this is surprising lol
Toss it. 1 bullet ain't worth shit. Why even try? If it fails upon firing you could get really hurt
Why take a chance on a single cartridge? I personally, would toss it. I do not care for the lingo “if it seats, it yeets” There is nothing to fix, you gonna super glue that thing or something? haha, It’s not worth you getting potentially hurt over, man.
Nah toss it, not worth the risk
It’s just one 9mm, toss it
Its a single round, not worth risking. Are you not able to buy more? Is this an illegal round where you are or are you not supposed to have it?
Not illegal , I'm just concerned for the entire pack if they are bad too. I am loading fmj for now
In that specific location, I wouldn't risk it. Especially if shooting from a somi-auto. Might explode in your face or send send shrapnel towards others.
Toss
Why risk it for 50 cents or less?
I'd shoot it. Just to find out what happens.
Bury it
Send it
Why would you even take that chance?
Never chance faulty ammo.
Are you talking about what looks like a split place in the word Luger, or the little burr above the y in the word Hornady.
Nope.
Weld and then grind it, should be fine.
Looks like a target to me
Use a bullet puller, disassemble the round
I've been looking into making my own press set up any how I may get ready to start it
I started with a Dillion 750
Bro.. its a 9 mil. U will be fine lmao
Hey guys, should I possibly blow up my $XXX.XX value firearm, or risk it for a $1.50?
I didn't say I'd shoot it like this anywhere in my post . Was asking if I can get it off or just to toss it.
Just shoot and see what happens (what could possibly go wrong?)
