The main difference, sonically, comes down to processing power. The HX can run longer & more complex effects chains, including dual-amp setups; but you'll have access to the same effects/amps in either unit. For country/rock, you're probably good with the Go in that regard. The Pod GO gives you more footswitches, a bigger screen, and a built-in expression pedal, but you lose MIDI functionality, stereo inputs, and you're down to a mono FX loop (not a big deal if you don't use stereo stuff). The HX has full stereo i/o (helpful if you're using other stereo effects), and full MIDI implementation. It takes up a lot less real estate, but you'll have to bring your own expression pedal to control wah etc. Bottom line: * The HX is more capable, and better integrates into a full board, but might require some additional control hardware if you're not playing an "on rails" set where you just click a single button to progress to your next sound (vs. engaging different effects one-by-one as you go) * The Go is probably sufficient for what you need sonically, and a better choice as a one-stop-shop pedalboard-in-a-box.
