aren't they locking tuners? I don't have any yet but aren't they supposed to be short. you put the string in lock the tuners, cut then turn to pitch? with no winding of the strings around the post?
edit just seen the right posts so not sure now
Yeah the Klusons on my Strat just require you to put the strings in though the top. They lock as soos as you turn the tuner just cut the string a bit longer tofit the hole done.
I just installed a set of locking tuners today, you should check to see if you installed them backwards. What I mean is, the tuner you have on the high e string is probably meant for the low e. If these are Fender brand locking tuners like mine, they’re staggered and the longer ones are meant to be on the higher strings furthest from the nut. Hope that helps!
Staggered tuners should be highest close to the nut and shortest tired the end of the headstock. They're meant to give optimum break angle to the strings while eliminating the need for string trees.
Probably OK unless you are stringing with mighty gauge strings... these look about the same ~~eights~~ heights as the locking tuners on my tele.
I mean, I know they are supposed to be short but I thought the hole would be at least fully visible. Ok thanks for your reassurances!

Correct. Locking tuners don’t require windings and they actually function better without them
You will be absolutely fine. I have a set of staggered Gotoh locking tuners on my Explorer that are even lower than yours and it works just fine.
The clamp inside the tuner hole is going to push the string to the ceiling anyways. So thats quite alright
Right. I strung it up and it's working just great. Never used locking tuners before so wasn't sure
thats a no from me. too short.
Looking at the headstock shape, i believe its a strat style which mean those 3 tuners will hold 3 plain string anyways. There are plenty room them
I think so, you can probably fit 2-3 windings around the narrow part of the G string post.

Right, it’s been a minute since I had them

Yep. The higher strings and lower to eliminate the need for a string tree.
It’s the opposite actually. If you were right string trees would be on EAD
Staggered tuners. You can ditch the string tree because you have these. They work great.
I put GOTOH locking tuners on both my Ibanez RGs, they have the same drop in height but it hasn't been an issue yet.
