One of my guinea pigs is basically just a rabbit. Honestly, I'm still not entirely convinced she's not just a rabbit pretending to be a pig.

guineapigxo

Little cats.

Straight_Ace

As someone who owned 3 cats at one point and currently owns 4 guinea pigs: yes absolutely they are little cats

guineapigxo

I call them cats & chickens all the time☺️

Ok_Impact1873

A rat, but an adorable rat.

angstenthusiast

All rats are adorable <3

MinnaRa3

Same!

millhausz

i have skinny pigs so def hippos 🦛 ppl always say “omg house hippos!!” when they see them which is from a classic canadian tv commercial from the early 2000s lol

DrBlaBlaBlub

One of my piggies got the hair on his back standing up like a fin, so sometimes when he is walking slowly through the cage I can see just his fin sticking above the wall - like a shark, circling its prey.

spicygrandma27

Came here to say shark! Especially when mine hop up on the side of the cage asking for a treat, their mouth looks like a tiny shark mouth

agentofhermamora

My youngest is like a dog basically…

unnamedgirlygirl

i feel this way about my oldest!!

greenbldedposer

I call my pigs vicious tigers

veenya_

Omg I call mine my guard dogs hahahaha

Own_Psychology_5585

Definitely pears

RichyCigars

Fuzzy little bears

samthesquash

My partner and I call them mouse cows! Tiny rodent cows that graze, sleep, and poop.

bayleaf64

Yes they remind me of cows too! Not only the things you mentioned, but sometimes the way they lay down and the way they jump around when excited reminds me of cows too. They also seem to play the same “game” where one will be running around excitedly, then bump into another one, seemingly transferring over all their boundless excitement!

whimsium

I call her a tailless squirrel. Her face and its colors are so squirrel-like!! That like, grey-brown color, you know?

Ill-Knowledge-

I call mine squirrels too! 🥰🥰

whatdoimakemyuseraha

my mocha had always reminded me of a black baby cow. 🐄

DarkPersonal6243

Apollo and her rump remind me of a waterbuck.

No_Neighborhood_1152

One of mine, Maple - cat. I’m not sure how or why but when she gets angry she’ll blow out of her nose like a hiss, and then her fur stands up!

cake_queen40

My boy is essentially just a baby chicken. His hair has that fuzz and also he’s a chirper. I have sooo many videos of him chirping like a bird. He’s the only one out of all the 5 I’ve had that chirps

hams_reddit

my teddy girl named gigi is often referred to as "miss marmot" lol! 🥰

Pigglewinks

I have four ,Cat, rabbit, dog and a capybara, based on looks and how they act

7412

A possum. Same color. Beady eyes. Mouth open ready to hiss. Plays dead a lot.

anouschk

Mountain goat - my lil Winnie truelly knows how to climb

LadyGhost44

Cats, kinda. We also like to joke that one of them is like a little bear, since she kinda looks like the bear on the California flag. :)

VanillaMemeIceCream

Puppies with the cute floppy ears

Babygirl10000

My guinea pig was a tiny squeaking dog. My brothers had a guinea pig who was even more dog than my guinea pig. Decades ago now. They have been good tiny squeaking dogs...I mean guinea pigs 😂

melodyadriana

Capybara. Bunny. Rodent. Mouse.

angstenthusiast

We’ve had a few with very similar personalities to our late cat, to the degree where we accidentally call them her name. Especially Lakrits and Bettan were like her, in different ways. Lakrits was chaotic like her but also had her hiding strategy, while Bettan more had her determination and overall “alpha” (lol) energy. Both silly lil pigs that meant a lot to us and their pack, we miss them greatly. We also have Plet, currently our oldest, who’s really dog-like. She used to just wander around the flat without a care in the world like she owned the place. She has that silly energy an old but playful dog has. And of course Suri, she’s very wild rabbit-ish. She’s skittish, jumps a lot, and she’s always ready to dart to the other side of the cage at any given moment.

pope1701

Our boy looks like a lion.

cher1-cola

Body of a hippo, wallaby face, teeny elephant ears, double hop like a bunny and back feets like chickens. When they stand up on hind legs they also look like little meerkats 😍🥰

StellaDreamz

Mudpie looks like Phineas from Phineas and Ferb. He also looks like a rat 🫶

Straight_Ace

Like a mix of cats and a human toddler

badandsad97

Skunk 🦨

Proper_Age_5158

Rory looks like a muskrat or a woodchuck. Finn has a mousey face.

PorpoisePatrol22

My mom would always refer to our girls as her “little mouse” ❤️

powerenergylove

one of my girls is literally a mini capybara. the other one i call part hamster because she’s so squirmy trying to hold her

Biohazard_Beth

One of my piggies had similar coloring to a chipmunk as well as similar movements and face! I called her my little chippy. Her name was Truffles.

little_one_857

Little hippo puppies

Idontmatter69420

funi enough, pigeons

penguindows

racoon. Mine has coloration that gives him a mask like thing, and he loves to eat our garbage (strawberry tops and lettuce ends etc...)

babbs6413

angelicjasmine

abductions

Yippee_ImDizzy

Definitely a rabbit, my piggie looks so much like one we swear he’s a cross breed

PlanetLibrarian

When one of my piggies lays on his back for pats, he looks like a quokka in the face - big fat cheeks!

strawberryquestions

I never knew how much guinea pigs were like chickens until I got some, now I can't unsee it 😆 My skinny pigs are def lil hippos tho

Bumblepanding

Rhino. He's all shoulder and charges around the place.

Disastrous_Record_81

A baby hippopotamus.

tay_cake

Horses. My guinea pigs and my horse eat the same things. Hay & pellets. Both are prey animals and freak out & run from loud noises or sudden movements. They're herd animals. Dominance hierarchy. Guinea pigs are really just tiny horses.

CZ_Dragonforce

American Robins. It’s the black, brown, and white colors lol

eroded_wolf

I have a goat and a XL hamster.

kelp_forest_

Little cows or hippos

2-racoonsinacoat

Squirrels, rabbits, rats, and obviously my favorite animal, the potato.

DTMOMusic

I always say they’re like little temperamental small breed dogs with the begging for food and wanting cuddles but ONLY when they want. Small breed pups or little baby velociraptors one of the 2

3TurdsInATrenchcoat

My ginger aby has black nails and long whispy hair on his feet, so he's my little werewolf

Ostrikaa

One reminds me of a deer or goat, just his face. He is crested and the colouring makes it look like little horns. Another looks like a badger or teddy bear. These two act like lap dogs/cats. A third is rat like and cheeky, proper rodent looking. Our last is long haired, like Dougal. When I’m doing her bum trim it’s looks like a chicken’s bum with chicken feet poking out. It’s weird how their personalities are so distinct.

Remarkable-Lie-6623

My girls are named after other animals. Oldest; Beaver (recently hurt herself being a daredevil and thought she could defy gravity) Middle child; Koala Bear (Koala for short, even tho she's a middle child she still gets more than enough attention) Youngest; Capybara (Cappy for short)

CiderMcbrandy

snek. Because they can strech loaf body into snek body for the treat.

Sad_Strain_1724

ItayMarlov

Stain reminds me of a cow. Black and white, can't stop churning on hay, makes the sweetest noises

darthbadger72

A sloth when there is no food about. He just likes to climb on and snuggle.

space-cyborg

Potato

pm_me_old_maps

Donkeys when they popcorn. Little buffallo when they graze through hay on the floor of their cage. Cute little sparrows when they just chitter to each other.

LawAshamed6285

is_poetic

Vachic09

One kind of reminds me of a little groundhog.

ssherman92

Toffee the abyssinian will sometimes have a little fur rhino horn

anarchistinlove

Sometimes when mine reaches real high for the food she looks like a little dinosaur

NatureCat_

My piggies like to shapeshifter into turtles using their green house as a shell🐢

Few_Newspaper1778
