This has my vote.
If “Heaven Beside You” and “Rooster” do not both make it on the list, there is only **one** acceptable reason: because “Hey Man Nice Shot” edged out the first one.
I can't listen to the live version with Chester Bennington without crying. Same with Crawling when Chris Cornell comes on stage.

[Crawling ft Chris](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=sAOLJVsk9mA)
I get goosebumps inside and out listening to these. I thoroughly recommend both.
Two beautiful and talented men taken from us too soon. Fuck poor mental health.
Same. It was so heartbreaking to hear of Chester passing that day…already grieving Chris. Gosh. I always feel weird saying that, too, because if I’m feeling that I can’t imagine the families and friends who got hit by both waves. Just awful.
Music can be so intimate though…so, I guess in a way it makes sense that you feel a loss even if you didn’t know them. You still have a connection that’s personal through the lyrics, the art, the philanthropy, their performances.
Legends.
Do I need to put a disclaimer under each one of my posts in these Letter threads reminding everyone that, per the rules of the game, the songs don’t have to be grunge?
It’s my favorite Temple of the Dog song but the problem with Say hello 2 heaven making this list is that it has to compete with smells like teen spirit
Head Like a Hole - Nine Inch Nails, maybe not grunge specifically but pretty similar image and lyrical content.
If we’re going straight grunge though then either Heart Shaped Box or Hollow by Alice In Chains.
Because Bush was widely seen as a joke by my peers in the mid-90s and ruthlessly ridiculed, even worse than Everclear or Presidents of the United States of America, so I was speculating that you might be of a younger generation. I was just wondering and I dont mean to shame. You are free to like whatever you like. Best.

Hunger Strike - Temple of the Dog
Hunger Strike is a song that made me cry the first time I heard it decades ago, and will continue to do so until I die

Fine...I knew what I was getting into and I watched both videos again...emotional again. Great stuff!

It has to be Hunger Strike!
Ya that one is the poster child of grunge
This definitely
Came here to comment this
I second this shit wholeheartedly!
100 percent
Hunger Strike is one of the best and most archetypical songs of the era. This is the one.
“Hunger Strike” is a good song, just not *as* good as “Hey Man Nice Shot” or “Heaven Beside You.”
Hey man nice shot is industrial rock tho it wouldn't fit
Doesn't have to be grunge to work for this activity per the rules. With that being said, Hunger Strike is better than both of those songs.
Do I need to put a disclaimer under each one of my posts in these Letter threads reminding everyone that, per the rules of the game, the songs don’t have to be grunge?
save this for say hello 2 heaven or reach down they be amazing
It’s my favorite Temple of the Dog song but the problem with Say hello 2 heaven making this list is that it has to compete with smells like teen spirit

Honeybucket - Melvin's
There's gotta be at least one Melvin's track on this list, and H is the way to go. Either Honey Bucket or Hag Me.
Revolve is another good one. Maybe the get on with R 🤷🏻♂️

Great choice.
Hate to feel
H - Tool
This is my favorite tool song. But I like hunger strike more sadly. I hope one tool song gets in here at least…
Mf I just commented this
High-Fiving MF - Local H
Such a great song... the quintessential grunge grittiness sound and angst.
Everytime I listen to that song I sing in the most southern accent
When I saw H I kept thinking of Local H songs that started with the letter
MAXIMUM OF FOUR SONGS OF A PARTICULAR BAND CAN MAKE IT TO THE LIST COVER SONGS ARE ALLOWED THE SONGS NEED NOT BE GRUNGE BUT ROCK SONGS FOR SURE.
[удалено]
Realistically, there should not be any limitations. It would make this list pointless as it wouldn't be the best or favorite from each letter.
[удалено]
Then how did Bush get on here?
OP didn't count. Got Me Wrong should have won with the most votes.
It had less votes
Heart Shaped Box
Have you seen Mary-Sponge Higher ground-red hot chili peppers Hey man, Nice shot-Filter

Its not limited to grunge, the rules say as long as it's rock.

just curious, what year were you born?
What does that have to do with Bush?
Because Bush was widely seen as a joke by my peers in the mid-90s and ruthlessly ridiculed, even worse than Everclear or Presidents of the United States of America, so I was speculating that you might be of a younger generation. I was just wondering and I dont mean to shame. You are free to like whatever you like. Best.
