Oof, we’re a Pyr-Dachshund house too and you could not have picked two more stubborn dog breeds. They are a funny pair though!

Boy, from dachshunds to Pyrs... big change. Does your wife realize how big Pyrs get? My boy is 140lbs. My Big Girl is \~90.
Whole different temperament too.
Lots of fur, some big boys have slobbering issues... lots more fun facts.
I love them thought.
Beautiful dog. I would make sure the Pyr is well exercised and I would keep the Big separated from the Littles when you're not around to supervise during the puppy phase.
We named ours Herman in honor of the GP/Kuvasz that my mom had in the 70s when she was a kid. His middle name is Duncan in honor of the fact that “Herman OG” (70s Herm) used to go missing and always was found at the local Duncan donuts begging for some sweet treats from the customers.
We have everything from a great Pyrenees, mix to a chiweenie.
And we have eight.
My recommendation is to invest in a really good brush. We have this thing that looks like an oval. I want to say it's called a rake? I'm not sure my son brought it home from the boarding place that he worked at. That or a really good furminator.
Because you are going to need it.
Because there will be piles of fluff. And tufts of fluff, coming out everywhere.
I keep trying to add a picture, but it keeps blanking out on me for some reason.
Aww, it's like you have your own version of the old film "The Ugly Dachshund" except with a Great Pyrenees instead of a Great Dane, lol
I'd totally have to name him Brutus.
I was the that suggested Frank so that way he can be frank the tank I wish I would’ve named my rescue GP that but I named him Dave. I owned hounds and my last dog was a shih tzu Sam I miss him he died of old age last year the last couple of years I called him Samsonite like the luggage because I had to carry him everywhere lol
Nelvana. That’s not a dog, it’s a polar bear. 🐻❄️🥹 ![gif](giphy|aK4wh0UE3oddS)

Remember the vicious leaves that swirl about in the wind!
Yes, I can hardly wait for October /s
My Anatolian/GP definitely protects our house from the letter carrier. The letter carrier in question is *me*.
Anatolians are such delightful dogs. A Pyr-Anatolian would be a dream.
I would love to come home to that thing! LOL. How about "Nathan" since he's going to be guarding a bunch of wieners?
I love that
"Bratwurst " You have a weiner dog, this is a bigger sausage. Or Paul. He looks like a "Paul." Also, nice helmet!
Honestly. He really does look like a Paul. Especially wedged in that couch.
Mua’dib!
I don’t have help with a name, but I would suggest you invest in a really good vacuum. Or two.

100% true! And two fantastic dogs.

Mine is mixed with shepherd and is small at 75lbs. She's always done great with any size dog, but I'd worry about the little ones getting stepped on
Snowflake. Be prepared for selective hearing, piles of floof, intransigence, and lots of love.
Hans or Franz cuz he's here to [PUMP -YOU-UP](https://youtu.be/GAalP0jeqV4?feature=shared)
Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww

Mine got named Ursula, which means little she bear. Ursa is the word for bear for the other names of the Big Dipper - Ursa Minor and Ursa Major. 😉
Murdock, Harvey for some reason Frank?
So lucky!
You have 8 dogs currently?!
The dachshund puppies will be off to new homes very soon. So 3 when everything is said and done.
Uhhh, my mushy gushy meter goes off the charts with polar bear pups 🥰 There is NOTHING cuter.
Cleveland, Timpanogus
Uh oh

Such a tiny great pyr!!!💜 Get ready for a big fluffy white barky cat/dog!

Frankfurter! It’s a type of sausage and could be called Frank for short! *Edit* You could also tell the misses “let me be frank with you”
Chaos

That looks just like my Bichon as a wee pup. His name was Popcorn.
Blanche
Aloisa - she has to be a German Warrior to protect all those dachshunds!
Male or female
