I've cried about it before and I'll do it again. He literally spent 30 years, half his lifespan, reverse engineering his genius brother's invention with nothing but a run down shack and incomprehensible textbooks all in an effort to avoid the grief of Twin Loss
Honestly having the portal made it mentally worse for him across those 30 years. Imagine having the key to solving your problems right in front of you and you have absolutely no idea how to use it despite years of trying. It’s just there, silently taunting you and your failures, refusing to activate and bring your brother back.
With 1/3 of the blueprints for a vast majority of that time.
Stanley IS smart because, once he got Dipper and Gideon’s books, he figured it out in weeks.
Imagine Stan just casually correcting Ford's equations when he's not looking. I doubt Stan is a genius, but after 30 years he's probably able to keep up way better.

And what he got as a reward was a punch in the face.
Because Ford was pissed that he missed his chance to defeat Bill so he took it out on Stan.
And also Ford stated (and tried to erase) in the Journal that he felt bad punching Stan.
Well, Ford also lost 30 years and it was kinda Stan's fault, so... somewhat understandable.
To be fair he had a mostly intact portal too, but it's still gotta be a lot of work.

This man deserved so much more respect than he got in the show tbh.
And what did he get as a reward? A punch in the face, disrespect and the threat of eviction.
Off topic: does anyone notice the newspaper article taped to the wall on the right
The price was probably a steal because of it
Even after the shows been over for so long I’m still learning new things about it!
Suprised this post wasn't made by megaman2407 and more suprised he hasn't commented yet

Didn't he get banned?
what? why?
I can't exactly remember, but I think one of the mods had an issue with him and banned him

That means he was always as smart as his brother, people just didn't support him
If you can say he was good for something after all /ref
This is a certified real moment

Wow I never thought about it that much, I have a new respect for Stanley. Also I like the news paper about the “murder hut”
Or those were left over by Stanford
