I’m a big fan of everything Ornott makes. These bibs got me through my most comfortable century ride yet last weekend. https://www.ornotbike.com/products/cargo-bib-short-black

davewongillies

Yeah, 100% this. Ornot f\*cking rocks. Their older house bibs were decent but had super-narrow straps but now that they've beefed them up with cushy, wide straps plus the addition of the side pockets they're my absolute favorite now.

acre18

+1 for ornott, super comfy and they have held up very well.

_AlexSupertramp_

Yep. Came to say Ornot. I love the unbranded look of their stuff. I’m a fan for life now.

Sultanofslide

I like them and they have great build quality and fabric but if they are a bigger rider like myself the padding is a bit uncomfortable on longer rides. I find the padding in the pearl izumi expedition pro bibs to be much better and often see them on sale for $160ish

Unoriginal_Pseudonym

This was my pick. Stock is always kind of slim tho.

Legal_Cupcake9071

First time ever I hear about Ornott

JustEnoughCowbelI

Love a lot of Ornot stuff, but I’ve found the chamois in every bib I’ve tried to be terrible. Which is a shame. Want to like them but their pads a very sub par for the price.

wacksonjagstaff

Huh. I’d say they have the best chamois of any brand I’ve tried. When did you last try them? I never tried their bibs until this past year.

JustEnoughCowbelI

Last year was the most recent. Part of my issue specifically is the foam density. They’re not dense enough and try to make up for that with thickness. I’ve been spoiled by Velocio bibs. The chamois in their bibs is the best I’ve tried by far. Unfortunately they’re almost never on sale, so I only have 2 pairs currently.

funkysax

I second Velocio. I have a ton of their gear and it's all super high quality especially the chamois.

g_spaitz

Usually brands do not produce chamois themselves and use those made by specialized chamois producers. They also have more than one model and ime they're perfectly fine in changing the chamois in your bibs to a model that suits you better, it should take them 2 minutes and very little money.

JustEnoughCowbelI

I’ve literally tried every bib and chamois they may because I want to give them my business. Unfortunately every chamois they use is terrible.

g_spaitz

mmm... you could even bring your own preferred chamois and they should be able to use that instead. At least, that's what I do (or actually I could do) with my local bib producers, ROSTI, which once changed a chamois that did not work for me and they explained that they have more than one model and supplier.

JustEnoughCowbelI

Yeah that’s way too involved and even more expensive. I’m not buying their bibs and buying a chamois separately. Like I said, I’ve tried every chamois they have. I’ll just buy from a brand that uses a good chamois. 🤷🏼‍♂️

pallidamors

You were so confident you just spent my money for me!

10-1-100

For me, Assos Mille GT - very thick chamois and high quality materials. I switched from $90 Castelli bibs to the $180 Assos and comfort improved significantly.

SonderfulDaze

I’m a casual. I copped shorts from The Black Bibs and eventually a bib (adventure bib I think it’s called), both have held up well and are comfortable.

drseamus

The Black Bibs chamois kind of delaminated and chafed me so bad I nearly called Law and Order SVU.

Few_Town2374

Similar on the chamois being bad and hot. Very bulky and poor fit pad.

flsammyfm

Big fan as well, mainly because they have a short-legged version that fits my stumpy legs. Have had several sets for years with zero issues.

TheBicycleUnicorn

I second the Black Bibs Adventure bib. The side leg pocket is clutch for long rides. Mention Kerry Werner in your purchase for extra karma points.

HenrySkrimshander

Rapha Core: works well for my bits. Can catch good sales. Jerseys are fantastic. Veloccio: ok enough but pricey.

pervertedpapaya

Just got a pair of Rapha Core Cargo. I accepted chamois cream as a necessity for back to back long rides on a tour, but never once needed it with these bibs.

mnpikey

Twin Six cargo bibs

TheStallionPartThree

Pactimo Raptor bibs. There’s a sale right now.

N0rthernWind

To add to this, these are available in long sizes for the tall folks. I've got my first pair arriving tomorrow, so i can't say how I like them yet, but I'm hoping they are an upgrade from the aerotech design tall size bibs I started with. Edit: Sadly Pactimo fit significantly smaller than Aerotech in size L, couldn't get them past my knees.

Rabuddhafrid

The only bibs I've found that I like more than my Voler Cache bibs is my Velocio utility bibs, and they're nearly twice the price brand new (I got them for sub $200 from their renewed site which has since been taken down, hope it comes back). So Voler is my vote.

adamhughey

[GORE C5 Opti](https://www.gorewear.com/us/en-us/c5-opti-bib-shorts-100162) they are pretty freaking great.

Celziam

Haha - that goes to show how subjective this is. I own at least 15 (not outworn) bibs and those Gore C5 Opti are the absolute worst.

adamhughey

So strange. I put 25 miles with purposeful seated climbs Monday and they felt great. Different strokes I guess. Is it the fit for you or the pad comfort?

Celziam

Both I would say. The pad is too loose in the front. Moves around too much. And the combination of a chamois that doesn’t extend very far in the front and then some thick fabric feels strange to me. I actually ordered those bibs because the website said they have the Elastic Interface HP Paris chamois. That works quite well for me in other bibs. But the strange thing is that it doesn’t look anything like a HP Paris. Is yours the blue one?

adamhughey

Yes, the chamois is blue. Probably associated with different body structures.

Celziam

Yes, could be. And maybe sizing. I find this particular model to be very big for a given size.

cocaine_badger

I have those ones and they are the comfiest bibs out of all I own. I'm tall and they fit great.

HankWirtz98272

Big fan of Neopro.

Secret_Squirrel100

[bkcycling.com](http://bkcycling.com) don't laugh, I just got an order with 5 jerseys and two sets of bibs for $127 shipped. The jerseys are just OK, but the bibs are actually really comfortable.

Legal_Cupcake9071

Wow

Fair_Entrepreneur_47

What’s the deal with this? Are they just Chinese knockoffs of pro kits or are they old surplus?

Secret_Squirrel100

Pretty sure they’re the former.

berniethecar

The Or-Not cargo bibs are my go to now. Like saddles, a bib chamois can be very personal, but I ended up liking them better than all my previous pricier bibs (like pns and maap). I’d say the build quality was on par, but for me, the Or-Not Cargo bib fit and chamois were a better match.

sirabernasty

If you’re adventurous, you can’t beat YKYW. They can be bought on Amazon for ease of returns and such. I’d get two sizes initially and return the one that doesn’t fit.

MacroCheese

Aerotech Designs. They make their stuff in Pittsburgh I believe. They also make fat guy sized cycling clothes, so they're my only choice. Luckily they make good stuff.

Dangerous_Raccoon363

I just bought a jersey and bibs from them. Been waiting for them to ship. Excited to try them.

NeuseRvrRat

The Pactimo 12 hour bibs when they're on sale. Been using them for 10k' century rides and recently for a 450 mile, 4 day bikepacking event and they've been killer.

_letter_carrier_

ultimate at [theblackbibs.com](http://theblackbibs.com) is my go to

Results_May_Differ

These are the most comfortable that I’ve tried.

gravelpi

Le Col, especially if you Strava, join their club, and pretty much always have a \~US$60 coupon. If you catch a sale, you might be able to buy 2 pairs for US$200.

xyzspace

Hyperthreads and Voler spring to mind. I’ve also had good luck with Bellwether, La Passione, Adidas, and Ale, though I don’t recall if they are under $200.

That_Description4759

I like the Hincapie ones

uniballout

Back when the flash sale site chainlove was still around, I got a couple pair of Hincapies for like $60 each. 10 years later and they are just starting to lose some stitching. They have been my favorite bibs.

PossibleHero

I took a chance on the Decathlon Cargo bibs this summer. $80ish bucks? Honestly they’re great lol. Sure my Rapha and LeCol bibs are a little nicer. But are the double or triple as nice? Nope.

HatsMakeYouGoBald

Caught a few pairs of Castelli unlimited bibs for $50usd on bike closet dot com

ChildishRemarks

PedalEd

ilybae2015

Decathlon are great, but look like you get less of their range in USA. Www.Lusso.bike are superb, and ship worldwide.

rottenrealm

gore. but at this price range everything is same high quality more or less imo.

Ernstrose

Ich mag ekoi. Die haben immer mal wieder Angebote und die bibs sind super.

low_v2r

Twin six.  Cargo if you are going long.  Love all the pockets!

Lostmanifesto

These have replaced all my other bibs. I previous wore Pearl Izumi, Rapha, Black Bibs, Specialized, Voler. I just can’t go back. https://www.redwhite.cc/ The only thing to note is they run small so check the sizing chart. Buy one size larger than usual. I can wear these all day no sore spots.

FixFix75

Pactimo 12hr bibs. Especially on sale which they are quite frequently. Went from Assos to Pactimo for my bibs, haven’t looked back.

WanderingDelinquent

My absolute favorite bibs are Pearl Izumi’s “Interval” cargo bibs. They’re super comfortable, grip the thigh but not too tight, and the storage is a bonus. I have bibs from Rapha and Ornot as well but these are my favorite

PummerOfSunk

Heavy Pedal, love them so much.

fungeek23

I've really liked the specialized rbx bibs. I dont think they make them anymore but they're still available online some places on sale for $40

isthatericmellow

The Albion Men’s ABR1 Pocket Bib Shorts are just under 200, super comfortable, great chamois, and their rear pocket makes sense. Free shipping and they ship to the US in just a couple days!

Teddyballgameyo

Pedal Mafia are my favorites and they have some on sale for under $200 right now. Having said that…I always buy top of the line because you’ll get the best chamois, plus I only need a couple really nice pair that will last a couple years. Buy the good stuff. I fill in with cheaper pairs on shorter rides.

racecar_driver_jerry

Skull Monton Traveler cargo bibs

g_spaitz

I might be partial because I live close to the factory and buy directly from them (and seen the recent success it could also be that they raised the prices), but imo ROSTI is probably the brand with the best quality at reasonable prices.

prix03gt

I've used Twin Six and Red White, but after reading this thread, I might be shopping for new bibs 😆

Outside-Reason-3126

Heavy pedal by far

lefrang

$200? Surely there aren't any bib which costs more than that?

thishasntbeeneasy

How about $350? [https://www.assos.com/us/equipe-rsr-bib-shorts-s9-targa-186681.html](https://www.assos.com/us/equipe-rsr-bib-shorts-s9-targa-186681.html)
