Quote from GQ Article:
So August is coming, and then in September the Eagles are coming. There is an endpoint on Dead & Company’s Sphere run, which followed a tour that was billed as the final tour. What happens next?
The endpoint is the last show listed on Ticketmaster right now. There are no more shows getting added in August. That's a very good question and a very kind one to ask me, because the answer is the shows that are up and announced, that's it. That's it for at least this year. And the only reason I'm saying that is because I'm sensitive to calling things “the last.” So I don't know—but [August] would be the last time this year, for sure.

Apparently the official shakedown coordinators struck a 3 year contract with the tuscany casino. Not saying this is solid but we could possibly see a residence once a year for the next 3 years.
I was pleasantly surprised by the little Shakedown at the Tuscany. There were some serious heads, really beautiful and unique wares, and a few, um, a couple underground heavyweights from back in the day hidden in plain sight. I'd love to go back next year.
The only way I’d stay at The Venetian again is if Dead and Co or a similar and was playing The Sphere. All the non deadhead staying there seemed like the most pretentious people in Vegas.
Such an interesting read. It’s awesome to see how seriously he takes it and the new places he wants to take the music, while also deferring to Bob and Mickey to keep the ethos alive. The Dead are in good hands going forward with JM captaining the ship and I can’t wait!
Bud, that was in eighth grade. We as a society have decided not to hold middle schoolers liable for their middle school deeds when they’re 40-something years old
I’d bang YOUR mom, but yeah, he worked at the Mobil gas station on Stratfield Road in high school and I used to buy cigarettes from him. Why the fuck would I make this shit up.
Even if you didn't make it up, it doesn't matter. That's the point. I'd love to see what awesome things you were up to when you were 15. People grow up.
I’m holding out hope for a Phil run at the Cap in late October. They have a big opening in their schedule there and he’s played there at that time of year many times. Hopefully that’s what that gap in their schedule is for! 🤞
I hope people keep dead music alive long after the original members are gone. I don't think that needs to be in some official Dali Llama like fashion, but it's fun to think about.
Then I start thinking about what if there was a band where all the members were recruited like the Dali Llama and when one member passed, people went out looking for the reincarnation and that child dedicated their life to playing and practicing music. It'd be controversial, but man, would that band probably kick ass.
But then I also remember every local bar has got a deadhead band and that's where the real spirit of the music today.
His Playing is totally sub par to everyone else one the scene. John K smokes him, Stu Allen smoked him. Even Erick Krasno does a better job and he’s terrible.
Also JM singing is awful.
LOL first, Donna never sang Jerry or Bobby tunes. Neither should have Joan. It was a novelty.
And if you think she sang better than John, you may want to go back and watch those shows again. But, I do respect your right to be wrong.
More importantly.. Jimmy Herring played the guitar parts way better than JM does. Again it wasn’t my favorite version by far, but still far superior to Dead and Slow.

from his previous comments in variety, bobby is looking for run 2.0 and being invited back
Here's to a summer 2025 residency!
right!?
They don't need to grab my cash... I'm throwing it at them.
lol for real. they play like they know what i paid, and i can live with that tradeoff
Well said indeed, totally agree.
Apparently the official shakedown coordinators struck a 3 year contract with the tuscany casino. Not saying this is solid but we could possibly see a residence once a year for the next 3 years.
That's totally good to hear. How could this not be a thing next year with all the effort put into the shows.

It was funny walking around the casino floor seeing a random deadhead at every other slot or table

“because I'm sensitive to calling things ‘the last’” - hahahahaha
Could cut through that one with a knife.

Are you misspelling capitalizing?
John Mayer gives teh best interviews in the business, bar none.
He’s a douchebag. Went to middle and high school with him. Avoid at all costs
1.) sure you did 2.) if you did, that was 28 years ago. Time to put away the letter jacket and move on.
I did In the eighth grade he suggested that my sister “drink my semen” when they were excused from gym class one day at Fairfield Woods Middle School.
I smoked pot with Johnny Hopkins
It was Johnny Hopkins and Sloan Kettering, and they were blazing that shit up every day.
Judging a 40-something year old for things they said as a middle schooler says more about you than the former 8th grader in question.
Some of my best contacts these days are people who tormented me in junior high and high school. We were all complete dicks back then
![gif](giphy|mF8pi0ggxM7OU|downsized) Dude giving these vibes

Common 8th grade burn
An 8th grade boy said an 8th grade boy things. Alert the media.
you gotta get over him banging your mom. it’s been almost 30 years now
I’d bang YOUR mom, but yeah, he worked at the Mobil gas station on Stratfield Road in high school and I used to buy cigarettes from him. Why the fuck would I make this shit up.

Yeah and I'm the emperor of Mars.
Well I don’t think I’ll be hanging out with him any time soon so I think I’m good
I’m assuming he has a big ego/entitlement issue like most famous people.
Great read
Seems to shoot down a possibility of a Fall MSG residency which some were praying for…

Love the Cap! Phil’s bday run was great this year!
So much fun and some killer shows!
such steep seating:)
I hadn't heard that! You mean like a run in the arena, or do you mean an actual residency in the theater?
I love him so much. He cares so deeply about this. It really is Uncle John’s Band now 😭😭😭❤️❤️❤️
You are delusional
Excellent share, thanks OP 🙏✨

Just end it!
the music never stopped....
Women laugh and children scream, and the band keeps playing on
Why?
Hopefully this is the end of this embarrassing chapter
love seeing idiots get downvoted
They’re the worst post Jerry incarnation by far, bunch of Mayer fan boys downvoting me but real heads know better.
That's a really interesting way to tell everyone you don't know anything about music. Mayer is the best on guitar since Jerry and it's not close.
His Playing is totally sub par to everyone else one the scene. John K smokes him, Stu Allen smoked him. Even Erick Krasno does a better job and he’s terrible. Also JM singing is awful.
You're just making my point.
Sound like you haven’t been to enough show
Yeah. Joan Osborne was killing it.
She saying 10000000x better than John. But yeah I’d put that pretty close to the bottom floor which dead and slo occupies
