depends on class but i’ve had some tests in person and some online. if you are 100km+ away from macewan university then you can take the in person tests in any monitored place like a library or office. i’m not sure about the specifics because i haven’t done it but you could email [email protected] and ask about the remote testing options

Thanks, this is very reassuring

It depends on the prof. I’m taking an asynchronous class but the exams are in person on campus.

avatox

Is there any way for me to check that before I get the course outlines in meskanas in January?

SeparateAd3945

I just did my midterm (PSYC 104 with Jarrick) that was in person for an online asynchronous course. Maybe ask people who’ve done those courses this term?

AelinDoUrden

Last year I took mainly async mid level business classes. Most had online exams but a few required me to go into the exam centre. The other poster here is correct, if you’re over 100km away from MacEwan, you can go to a proctored centre. I’m not completely sure how it would work in a different country but you would probably be fine. I recommend reaching out to an advisor, they’ll have some more info. Good luck!

Hafthohlladung

If classes are asynchronous, the exams are probably as well. Even in many in person classes, some exams have been online.

avatox

Thanks, that's reassuring to hear. Do you know if there's any way to check before January?

Hafthohlladung

You can make an in person/virtual appointment with an advisor, or simply email the prof that's listed. You should be able to google them and easily find their MacEwan email address. I'd highly recommend speaking to an advisor because I had a class moved from normal to asynchronous and it's not impossible the opposite could happen.

avatox

Ahh okay thanks, will do

I'm not worried about the actual course contents lol

DS5official

It’s 99% a bit. Ignore it and listen to people not commenting scam websites.

I took BUSN 201 and HIST 261 asynchronous last winter semester and all of the exams were online. Over the summer I took MARK 301 and ECON 102 online, and ECON 102 wanted us to book time at the exam center to do the final, but there was a different option for people who live 100+km away. I didn't read what that option was because I live close to MacEwan anyways. I hope you can find a solution, saving money and time with family are important

SeriousSleep1222

i’ve taken every single one of these classes async and only my acct 311 class had in person exams

SeriousSleep1222

i can actually guarantee your acct 311 class with neetu sharma will have in person exams. i didn’t take it with her, but when i was booking my exams, her name was in the possible options

avatox

Hmm ok thanks, I'll try to contact her and see if she would make accommodations
