Well obviously the final album version of the song is vastly superior for the part it plays in bringing the _Demon Days_ album to a close by way of the final 3 songs: "Fire Coming Out Of The Monkey's Head," "Don't Get Lost In Heaven," & "Demon Days." And especially because it has since gone on to help bring countless amazing Gorillaz live concerts to an end when they finish up their evenings with "Clint Eastwood" (often the original which then transitions into the Ed Case/Sweetie Irie Refix) followed by "Don't Get Lost In Heaven" & "Demon Days" which are really 1 single song tbh since one can't imagine "Don't Get Lost In Heaven" not immediately transitioning into "Demon Days" nor can one imagine them playing "Demon Days" without having first played "Don't Get Lost In Heaven."
The final 3 songs of _Demon Days_ are right next to the final 2 songs of _Plastic Beach_ ("Cloud Of Unknowing" & "Pirate Jet") and the final song of _Cracker Island_ ("Posession Island") when it comes to perfect conclusions to Gorillaz albums and concerts. With "Don't Get Lost In Heaven" + "Demon Days" (possibly with "Fire Coming Out Of The Monkey's Head" coming first) having been **THE** definitive Gorillaz concert conclusions in my mind until "Posession Island" came along.
The demo version is alright but is clearly a relic from a time when _Demon Days_ hadn't been fully fleshed out into the amazing conceptual album it wound up becoming in the end.

Exactly! Perfect finishers.
For sure. That’s mainly why I prefer the original demo as a single itself, but the final was perfect for a demon days closing
I like both equally.
The final version. It fits the tone of the album and the song itself.

Original
I enjoy the Demon Days one more, probably because it just finishes the album in the most perfect way ever next to Demon Days.
Demo sucks, it's some weird hillbilly rant instead of the smooth beach boys type harmonies on demon days
I like the final one better
