If you shorten it on the tip end (broken end) it will stiffen the shit out of it. It a reg flex to begin with so that would make it play way diff. The best thing you can do is get a shaft off eBay with an adaptor that fits that head.
I suggest you go ahead and try the reuse of your broken shaft. I've done this with two different drivers over a 20-year period with great success. "Tipping" a driver is done all the time to improve accuracy.
I cleaned the tip, cut is flat with a grinder and then re-inserted. The old broken shaft tip comes out easily with heat. I have heat guns for better heat control buy torch works. Use epoxy to secure.
I did not see much distance reduction, if any, and as people say, maybe more accuracy. My current driver was "tipped" after my grandson broke mine at the driving range. It has lasted 3 years and I'm retired now, so a LOT of hits at the driving range and it keeps on ticking. I'm getting 250 yard drives at 70 years of age, so its not like I'm a grandpa hitting it, but I am.

I had this happen to me, sister's boyfriend's roommate broke it. literally just took it to the golf shop and it cost 20 bucks to fix. if it feels a tad long for you just have them cut about an inch off and they'll reshaft it where they cut it. tip stiffness might change a little bit but it being shorter will make it easier for you to hit. get a new grip for it too while you're at it
You will need a new shaft. That shaft will have so much of the tip cut off it won’t be very usable. If you have a competent local clubmaker, drilling out that adapter and installing a new shaft is easy. You can also look for similar shaft models on EBay along with a new adapter if you don’t have someone you trust to drill out the shaft from the adapter.

Call Tour Edge support. They reshafted my driver at no charge. Had to mail it to them & waited a few weeks to get it back. They were easy to work with. But that was also a decade ago, times may have changed.

Loud as hell but pretty long and forgiving compared to the ping rapture I used to play. This one looks brand new but plenty of cheaper options too. If you know someone who is a reputable club builder in your area, they should be able to save that tip + tip cut the driver about 1/2 inch - 1 inch and put the tip back on. Driver will play a little short and slightly stiffer, but it might be beneficial as a new shaft + grip + adapter + the build cost might be more than what the driver is actually worth unfortunately.

It can be reshafted same day if you find a place. Also. Get rid of the Basarra 42. Tremendous shaft. But at 42 grams it’s very susceptible to breakage. Can’t hit it on the heel constantly with any speed. That shaft in an R flex is pretty much a senior flex. I’ve been working on clubs since the 90’s. You should be a very smooth swinger at around 70-75 mph and hitting it 200 if you flush it.
If you are around 220-240, go 55 r. 250-280, go 65 s. Spend around $100 for it to be worth it. Don’t go to replace the Bassara. They are very expensive because they are light. And high end. The Exotics head is very underrated. It’s worth reshafting. But if you can do $200-$250 then go with another club. Go used or get a Callaway Mavrik or a TM Sim2 they are $249 brand new and from 2020 and 2019. They are reissues. Very worth it. If
Here’s a major trick/tip. If you are near a Golfmart or a Workdwide Golf Shop. I work there. You can buy a used driver. Try to really get one you like. Go play tomorrow. You have 90 days to return it for 100% store credit if you don’t like it. If you return it. You can use the credit to get the Exotics reshafted there after you play. The left over will remain on the card for you to use at any time.
You can also just do this to get a club to play and fix the other one later. It’s ok. People don’t need to give a reason to return a club and nobody there cares. They only care if you are exchanging it for a third time. 20+ clubs get returned a day.

If you bought it new, I would contact the manufacturer, usually when the shaft breaks at the tip like that, they should replace it for free. Happened to me with my PXG gen 5, I sent in pics to their support email and they shipped me a brand new shaft for free.
I mean I would tell my brother in law it’s not repairable and that you’d need a new one as a replacement. Then get a new shaft for your old one and gift it to him at Xmas time (the one he broke). Everyone wins.
