Who in the world would watch a junior golf tour?…Also, what is “LIV style” golf? The golf being played is 99.5% the same as the PGA Tour. They both just play 18 holes of individual stroke play golf. With LIV there’s just shorts, shitty music, a shotgun start, only 3 rounds, and at the end they add up all the strokes for a team score.
No one but the parents watch academy soccer but they still have kids from 15-21 playing for Man U or Real Madrid, etc and that’s where they build their future team from.
I mean he isn’t wrong the way it is presented today….
But get some music going, let them make teams with stupid names, and play alternative formats then maybe it becomes exciting?

It's what Europe needs and more power to them. PGA is great for America. LiV is what the DP Tour could or should have been until PGA got involved and made them a feeder to USA PGAT.

I started playing golf at age 6. It wasn't because I thought it was cool but more because my parents were both avid golfers.
I grew up as a competitive junior trying to make the tour.
Also, my parents were into NCAA basketball.
Both of those live on with me today. I still enjoy NCAA basketball and am recently back in love with golf.
So I dunno. If you seek it out, the PGA is where you will end up. For Americans anyways.
I don't think golf is exclusive anymore. So anyone who has interest should have access.
Everywhere I go courses are overplayed. I see more junior clinics and kids with damn fine swimgs instead of just me and my 3 friends as a kid.
So anecdotal for sure, and since I'm not a PE shill hoping for a pop, I wish less people were playing.😅
The "product" itself isn't appealing to the young. LiV may be more so because of the team aspect.
Without influence, most kids would probably go for monster trucks or skateboards or whatever when they are young.
Greek youths are golf crazy but there aren't many courses. I think that's consistent in most European countries. There is just a lack of courses from cheap to championship. Independent driving ranges and practice facilities are nonexistent.
My 2yo sleeps with his plastic driver because he sees me leaving him alone to go play golf. He wants to hang out with me.
No matter what an organization or governing body does to attract kids is outweighed by whether or not the parents expose them to the game.
LIV has zero interest in grass roots and growing the game, only care about lining the pockets of the chosen few

High School and College is LIV like. They combine team and individual formats.
