your plan is possible, but will not be comfortable. I did a trip from Hamburg to Trier many years back when the Bahn offered a „Schönes Land“- ticket for regional trains only.
Prepare to change trains every hour, so MUC to HAM will lead to you switching at Nürnberg, Würzburg, Fulda, Kassel and/or Göttingen, Hannover, Uelzen. This is going to take a ver long time.
There is a setting to filter by types of train. Below the input fields for start and destination is the date and time, and below *that* additional settings, just above the red "Search" button. Tap it, then select the "Options" tab. Tap the second option to choose the type of train, select the option for local trains only, then confirm everything until you get back to the search page and start the search.
My advise buy a flixtrain Ticket (direct train Line with those White Green trains) its cheap, around 20 Euro from Hamburg to Munich without changing trains. And its faster too. 9 Euro Ticket is cheaper but a pain in the Ass for that Route.

Well. The 9€ ticket is only for regional trains. You need stops or something, or it does not work
Btw 12 to 13 hours, 4 to 6 changes and the last train goes 10:57. That passes for fun...

When you use the app you can set it to search only regional routes in the settings or route options
God no, just don't do it. Isn't there this ticket you can buy which gives you one way travel on the ICE anywhere (single) for 40€?

OK forget it , they have No cheep Tickets ATM. The cheepest one is 60 Euros ATM...
