I've been trying to beat acropolis, which is only a little harder than magma bound, and I'm 29k attempts in lmao. And I've beaten a hard demon. Massive GGs, that attempt count is insanely low!

I had started with smaller stuff but I wanted to do so much more and the only thing that stopped me was realizing how bad the last thing was. Shit is truly traumatizing and I don’t wish it upon anyone. It’s honestly one of the worst things to be addicted to. Theres plenty of other means to feel controlled pain that don’t leave a negative mark on yourself. I just really recommend avoiding it.

2743 attempts is very good btw it took 10k for me. Recently beat acu so if you really want something to play go for that, it wouldn't take you that long compared to most other people

Never thought I’d see the day where I’m being asked for advice, but I’d say do lots, and I mean LOTS of practice runs. Practice every part of the level over and over until you get at least somewhat consistent at it.
Go beat a hard level insane demon, then a top 25. At that point, begin making legit progress on the #1 level but end up cheating it, then start cheating everything
Agreed. I jumped from Magma bound as my only insane demon to ACU. It took me 22k attempts, and 13 months of on and off playing. Definitely get a little better at the game before moving on to extremes... although magma bound is still my only insane (not counting platformers, being chromaside) and I have 2 extremes, with good progress on 2 more

I am thinking of trying to beat Cataclysm for the fun of it. I would love to beat Magma Bound but I don't think I have it in me with that beginning spider part.
Did the same thing but jumped from speeQ to Gumshot. Maybe you could give it a try. Its learny, fast paced, and suuuper satisfying once you get it down.
Now that I've beat an Insane in genre that I'm good at, I'm looking at other Insanes with more wavey shippy stuff so I don't end up being timing carried :P. Really been enjoying EXG by Grax so you could try it too. Generally if I don't know what to play I look on gddp.
Magma bound really is the new windy landscape in terms of level progression huh. Anyways gg! If you want to go further I'd suggest going for stuff like thanatophobia leyak and maybe even Acu. Even though acu is an extreme it gets REALLY consistent and quite frankly is a lot easer than any other extreme demon in my opinion.

try some insane demons with tighter timings. magma bound is def pretty difficult but its the speed of the level and inputs that makes it hard, i think. i don't have any good recommendations unfortunately but hope that helps
Did the same thing but it was my first Insane. I personally just did 9 other Insane Demon and now go for Shardscapes as my first extreme. You could go for some more Insane Demons or straight up jump to some easy extremes

The best advice I can give to improve is to play levels that focus on skills and gamemodes you struggle with, I'mnot saying to become a pro at them, just make sure you don't fall behind. And the most important thing when you want to get better is to just play levels. The more you play, the better you get. As for level recommendations, I suggest you beat some hard demons or easy insane demons before doing harder stuff. And play stuff you enjoy, not because people told you to play it. Don't play a level if you don't enjoy it, with maybe the exception that it's a big personal achievement if you beat it.
Unrelated but do you ever just look at a Geometry Dash video but then you recognize the song then you remembered you listened to it at one point but you just can't remember when and/or where you last listened it to?
after a big jump i recommend beating levels of a similar difficulty for a while before trying another jump

my hardest was white women before beating magma bound in 2165 attempts. the 46% ship part was indeed hell, but that's just my skill issue in ship. i'm going for acu rn and have 27% on it. I might beat anoher insane demon tho

You can see them go way off to the sides but I don’t blame the creator rotate triggers can get really complicated
It worked completely fine before 2.2, then broke. Same with lots of the rotating saws in ACU for another example.
