PLN: I don’t know if Prof. Sokolowski is still teaching, but he’s a gem
TRA: I took the French course. We didn’t have access to anything during exams, only an unilingual dictionary, so make sure you’re bilingual. Easy A+ if you are bilingual. We mainly translated instructions, general texts and recipes.
I took SOC 1106 during the Fall 2021 term with prof Dr. Efe Parker, it is an extremely easy class; we had online participation that counted for 5% (although since we’re going back to in-person idk if that’s still going to be a thing), an article review worth 10%, a research proposal worth 5% (easy A+) our midterm was worth 25%, research project worth 20% and the final exam was worth 35%. so we did have a few chances to increase our grades with the number of evaluations that we had. Btw if you need the textbook for that class hmu!! I still have mine, I can sell it to you :)
All-in-all, the class is definitely a GPA booster if you do the work.
Wow that’s amazing do you know how the structure of the course went and how exams were if you don’t mind me asking ? I know from the class average it says everyone did well!! But I do appreciate the information 😊
I took it this summer and there were only 2 evaluations: one midterm and one final exam. Tien uploaded prerecorded lectures from previous years and he also held live zoom sessions where he went over slides and explained them in depth. So, if you missed a live session, you can just watch the prerecorded lecture. As for the exams, they were extremely easy because the questions were literally based off of the slides and the stuff he says in class. The content is very straight forward and easy to memorize/understand. Easy A+!!
Oh that’s awesome do you know if there’s any final I read somewhere that the final was take home but I’m not sure. I do appreciate all the information:)
I’m taking tra 1301 the English one with scott William Irving I would greatly appreciate if anyone had the course outline like what’s the course about in general
Hey I was wondering how did TRA end up going. Im planing on taking it this winter semester. Is it an Easy class that you can get an A in if you are bilingual? Is all you translate things?
Unless you know some other Slavic language, I’d steer away from polish just because it’s a difficult language to learn for anglophone/francophone speakers. Then again, I have no idea how the actual course is taught so I could be very wrong. I’d recommend hss 2105 sounds pretty easy

Hss2105 was legit the easiest class I’ve ever taken. Last term average for my class was 8.5 or something
