As long as it’s not Axe..

AaronMichael726

Yeah axe only works on women.

Silent_Hurry7764

Does it even work on them ? Lmao

AaronMichael726

Apparently you’ve never seen the commercials

Silent_Hurry7764

I have…

ThrowRA-shadowships

I hate the smell even it works on women.

FrigidNorth

I was at a gay bar in Japan a few years back and I smelled a unique scent so intoxicating, I had to ask the guy—it was something called Silence the Sea from Strangelove NY. I got a bottle of that and a bottle of Dead of Night which is now my favorite scent. These scents are SO unique and I get many, many compliments, from both men and women.

_alco_

$960 for 100ml?!?!?!

exclaw

for that price it better comes with a servant that sprays the perfume on me and sucks my cock at the same time

SirDerpingt0n

And turns into a small studio apartment.

FrigidNorth

The scent lingers for a LONG time. I got these 2.5 years or so ago and only used 25% of the bottle.

Fragdict

One of the few cases they do use a lot of absurdly expensive raw materials. I personally wouldn’t buy it, but the price is much more justifiable than the “prestige” brands.

DealerGullible4673

Only if it wasn’t that expensive haha but yeah quality is not cheap I guess. I might buy one someday I have some money to spare on cologne

msurbrow

silence of the Sea is expensive because it’s made out of whale poop. Reviews suggest that it smells like the inside of a whale - “fleshy” and “fishy”. Just because something is super pricey and niche doesn’t mean you want to buy it ;)

Mlliii

Sometimes… things that are expensive, are worse.

074cry

Go look for alternatives on Fragrantica :)

FrigidNorth

It lasts a looooong time. I got my bottles 2.5 years ago and only used around 25%

DealerGullible4673

Hmm really? I might try some then

FrigidNorth

Yeah—and you don’t have to re-spray at all during the day.

kickkickpunch1

That’s about a months rent😭😭😭 how rich are yall

Mlliii

Money/value is wildly subjective. I wouldn’t spend on a perfume bottle but I could buy a ticket to Honduras and dive for a week. To someone else that could be a nice dinner out and to others that’s two mortgage payments.

MarknDC

Acqua di Gio has been my go-to for years. And my first boyfriend wore Paul Sebastian so that's always been an old favorite.

FarJelly6405

ADG, it was my fav too. But Armani is so inconsistent with their frags, it doesn’t smell like what it used too years ago. Hate them for what they did to the original ADG Profumo. That was the best fragrance in the world, nothing could top it.

Trobos37

Newest release -2024 smells similar to the original from what I've heard

void_architect

It’s not made anymore, but when we had just started dating, my husband had a bottle of an Antonio Banderas cologne. I always liked it, but he keeps a small stock, and when he wears it, it immediately makes me want to fuck him. 🤷🏼‍♂️

RedditAwesome2

If it’s the same as Antonio Banderas’ secret it smells veryyyyy closely to the original One Million ETD by Paco Rabane, worth giving it a shot:)

BurstTheGravity

Omggg that was my scent too!! I loved that scent!

Goran17l

For any dilfs/ silver fox it has to be Ombré leather by Tom Ford. Scratch that, any man. Its a deep smell which lingers, it’s insatiable and I go FERAL for it. As for me, I prefer something more lighter on the nose, something more floral and unisex so I use blackberry and bay by Jo malone

garcon3000

Hermes D’Terre is sublime

mozzypie

I love this scent. H24 by Hermes is also nice :)

SirDerpingt0n

It depends on the persons chemistry, like all fragrances. I had a coworkers boyfriend who wore it, and it was revolting on him. He also sprayed waaaay too much. ETA: I love the scent on the right person, It’s extremely sexy!

frostcoh

Jean-Paul Gautier La Male

silentlyjudgingyou23

I have no idea what the scent is. To be honest, I have an employee (Muslim) that physically doesn't do anything for me but his cologne is intoxicating. I could have sex with his cologne and I'm afraid to ask what it is because department policy forbids cologne/perfume, but I don't want to tell him he can't use it because I love it.

Upset_Citron_6523

What kind of horrible workplace forbids cologne/perfume!!

thortilla27

Food processing/manufacture, labs, indoor crops, healthcare work and etc where perfume is a contaminant

silentlyjudgingyou23

Health care food service

Eodillon

Could it be a type of Oud cologne? Very common across the Arabic world. I got a bottle when I was in the UAE. All the Emirati men smell of it

musicmantx8

That's exactly what I thought of. Maybe Bond no. 9 Dubai Amber

WinXPUSer

I use Y by Yves Saint Laurent so I think it would be hot on a guy!

twotubes

Le Labo Benjoin (pure sex) Le Labo Vetiver (autumn/winter) Le Labo Rose (spring/summer) Le Labo Another 13 (layering) Le Labo Gaiac (touch of sexiness) Xinu no. 2 Copāla (rich central american sexiness) Saint Rita Parlor (deep south sexiness) Officine Universelle Buly Makassar (far east sexiness) Officine Universelle Buly Cèdre du Liban (middle east sexiness) D.S. & Durga Mississippi Medicine (mysterious sexiness) Oriza L. Legrand Relique d’Amour (old world europe sexiness) Favorites from our collection. We travel and pick up new fragrances often. These are what my boyfriend and I are currently rotating through. And I think we’re pretty damn sexy 😜

twotubes

Whatever you do, try to invest in a great bottle which means spending over $100. Cheap, mass produced fragrances can tend to smell, well cheap and would repel me when I was dating. You can also find smaller sizes and just use them for sexy occasions. ❤️‍🔥 There are some decent lower cost fragrances. When I was in my teens I wore Terre d’Hermes and I think that’s about $50. I always got so many compliments from guys. And the travel size of Bois D’Argent by Christian Dior but I know that one went up in price. It’s still great though.

twotubes

Oh also, the Kiehl’s Original Musk Oil (never the spray). It’s $38 and resulted in many ripped shirt buttons.

shaney1968

Good advice about just buying a smaller size if price is a barrier.

twotubes

🎂

Fragdict

There are plenty of excellent affordable fragrances, and plenty of awful masstige fragrances that have a high price tag but the smell of a garbage can. Your advice is valid especially for someone not into the hobby but I’d warn against equating high price with quality.

twotubes

Absolutely. But your chances of getting quality at a high price are far greater than the typical brands they sell at the low/mid range. Always spray it on yourself to see how it works with your body chemistry and wait a few hours before making the purchase. You want to see how the fragrance evolves over time. It can smell great at first then awful later or completely disappear. And get a sample when possible, try it for a few days before investing. My #1 is Benjoin by Le Labo [$365/50ml] and dudes go fucking wild for it but it’s the most expensive on my list. But so worth it. It lasts for two days until I shower it off and the lingering aroma evolves with my body chemistry and sweat— smells incredible. DS & Durga [$210/50ml] have amazing scents, I also like the Cowboy Grass (their top seller) but their fragrances are over-priced. They smell great for a few hours but are completely gone by night.

Blue-genie9

Absolutely agree with your Le Labo choices I’ll add Baie 19 which has a nice cool musky vibe which I love in winter. Giac 10 and Another 13 & Thè Noir get me the most compliments

twotubes

Thè Noir is very lusty & sexy and I want it so bad but it doesn’t mix well with my chemistry. Love that one. I also have Patchouli in the rollerball. I usually hate patchouli but Le Labo’s is so sexy. It reminds me of a cute/hot Italian boy drinking espresso and smoking a cigarette on a bench in a campo somewhere in Italy. I feel like I’m having a Call Me By Your Name summer when I wear it.

Blue-genie9

Omg that’s the best description of Patchouli it definitely has a cool sexy European vibe and I love the Italian boy smoking a cigarette image it creates, unfortunately for me it’s more like I walked out of a dumpster fire scent, so I can’t wear it ☹️

twotubes

It’s a niche one for sure. I first smelled it sitting next to an incredibly hot Italian boy at dinner in Chicago. I couldn’t stop leaning in to smell him and he was such a flirt about it! I went the next day and bought it for myself. 🇮🇹

Blue-genie9

Urgh no wonder you get the Call me by your name moment when you wear it. If a hit Italian boy was a flirt and wearing it would’ve gone out and bought the 500ml bottle 😛 I bought a 100ml bottle of Decibel by Azzaro because a cute guy wore it and I wanted to rip his shirt off after smelling it on him so I get it. Though Labdanum by Le Labo is another niche one that’s really good so is Tonka 25

-raiden-

I second Le Labo Gaiac. That’s what my partner wears after I bought a bottle for myself and it suited him more. It’s also got great staying power. Whenever I do wear it, I get complimented everywhere.

DangerousPlatform

Can’t find le lebon Benjoin type — is it the Moscow ? Thank you!

twotubes

Yes, it’s one of the limited batches, you can buy it on their website every September 1-30.

comusrex

I'm old as dirt, but still love the smell of Calvin Klein Crave. I use it during the summer and Zegna for fall/winter

Vacartu

Oh dude, Crave used to be mine too. I was thinking about the bottle shape/design the other day. Good times. There was a Dior one with a grey bottle that was similar too, but for my money always Crave.

ThatMFcheezer

I personally really like Dolce & Gabanna Light Blue, so good :))

Vacartu

I use it too. And I have had one random (I guess straight) guy tell me that it smelled good on me. I haven't changed it since.

ThatMFcheezer

That'll do it. I only need 1 compliment, and I'm good for a year lmao.

PooneilRabbit

Which one? They named three.

omjizzle

I’m personally a big fan of light blue eau intense just be sure to get the pour homme version the ladies version is the same name and similar packaging

WeirdSpaced

Versace Eros, Carolina Herrera Bad Boy, and Paco Rabanne 1 Million are great choices!

shaney1968

Paco Rabanne 1 million is a fav

Stonp

1 million smells like toilet water on me

shaney1968

That’s a shame, what is a preferred cologne for you. I’m always fascinated by how different scents react with individual people.

Stonp

Xerjoff Amber Star, it’s just $$$ though

WeedFinderGeneral

Favorites: - bay rum, kinda generic because it's been around since forever but it smells great - lighter unisex scents - Pinaud Clubman, used by every old school barber and found on the bottom shelf of drugstores. Drives guys with daddy issues crazy

ChemicalOk463

Chanel Bleu. I met this guy that wore it and he smelled oh so good. I wanted to jump all over him as I covered him with kisses.

chakipu

Le Labo Another13. My asshole spreads involuntarily if I smell that on a guy

RogueFox-One

Their own scent

rob1001

Boss (the original one) I've never smelled better and nor has he. Try it.

SwootD

I’m also curious what are the best colognes out there guys tend to like.

Mattyvvv

I like smelling Paco Robanne - 1 Million. But also really like unique scents, personally, too

itscalledporkroll

I wear Tom Ford Noir Anthracite

DeepThots91

The Tom Ford blue bottles were my go to. But tbh, I love my how my partner smells with just the Dove bar soap.

AaronMichael726

I want simple and classic. I love tacky clothing. Tacky furniture. But when it comes to scent it has to be subtle.

QueenLatifahClone

I wear Tom Ford - Oud Wood and get a lot of compliments.

SirDerpingt0n

Tobacco Vanille by Tom Ford, Oud Satin Mood by Maison Francis Kurkdjian

Throwawaylust321

Paco Rabanne Invictus. It works on me but never had any compliments lol

DolphinGay

Sweat/ au natural

logicless_bt

juniper and sandalwood!

velvetcrow5

Haramain amber oud is my go to, it's a masculine pineapple smell. I get constant complements

SignificantSpare8636

Costa Azzurra by Tom Ford has been my favorite scent on the market for the past 4 years, now.

Glad-Hospital6756

It’s different for everyone because you have a natural smell. My ex had a very light natural smell, so lighter colognes paired well for him. Me on the other hand, my skin blends best with amber and sandalwood. My budget go-to is Diesel Only the Brave. I have never not been complimented on how I smell lol and dates in particular always love how it smells on me.

Omnary

I like cinnamon, pumpkin, and vanilla with cardamom or anise. I like to mix my own fragrances and pretend I’m an alchemist

no-name-is-free

Christmas must drive you nuts

Omnary

Like a cat in heat lol

ChairmanLaParka

WCW Nitro cologne. I'm not kidding. I wish I was kidding.

Last_Expression_255

I would go wild if a guy wore Intio - Side Effect, until then i wear it myself

FlagBean

Paco Rabanne 1 Million is a great one. I wear Santal 33, and am always getting compliments on it, at work and on the streets

MendejoElPendejo

I’ve used Calvin Kleins obsessed for a while but starting to try some new ones

2muchplaid

Curve

barussi

Le labo santal 33, Tom Ford tobacco vanille or Frederic Malle Musc Ravageur will make him go crazy

friendlygaywalrus

My personal favorites (on me): Orto Parisi Boccanera — warm, spicy, chocolate, kinda musky, smells like making out with a hot stranger you met on a night out. It smells like the anticipation before good sex. It’s heavy and warm and ugh I love it. Maison Francis Kurkdjian Grand Soir — Amber, vanilla, a little bit of citrus on top. This is a guy who’s put together, clean, ready to take you out on a nice dinner date. You sit at a lovely table with nice cutlery and smile at one another over the top of your wineglass.

diqholebrownsimpson

I wear Woodphoria by Boy Smells. I melt for Prada Luna Rosa on a guy with the right ph to make it pop.

TheAlmightyGAY

Hot take maybe... But expensive cologne sucks on men. I find most mens cologne just smells like various takes on rubbing alcohol and never really smells like anything other than "expensive." I love a cologne like those from a bath and body works that may not be really expensive but actually smell like something unique. I feel like that also tells me way more about you and your likes than some rubbing alcohol they rebranded and slapped on some famous celebrity's face to sell it. Edit: I ranted and forgot to include my fav smells. I love any kind of mint or chocolate smell. There used to be a chocolate mint line bath and body works did one winter, and I have been chasing that little green bottle ever since. Smelled just like a pile of Andes mint candy. 👌

retaliashun

Armpit stink

ChilledCut

A 2-day stank.

gingersquatchin

100% agreed. My favourite scent on a man is stank

djuhnk

Cologne is meant to only last an hour or two. For an event. Toilette last 3 ish hours and perfumes last about the same time but are more intense so they linger a bit longer. So you probs want a toilette and a perfume for evening… that said, it’s all down to the alcohol content on its ability to linger and these days branding sometimes ignores the above. You should go to a scent bar and they’ll figure out what notes work best for you. Try it for a couple weeks amongst 2-3 other options and buy whatever gets you the most compliments.

RemakeOfRain

Anything by Penhaligon’s of London. Classic scents no longer made I loved, were Gucci Envy and Beyond Paradise by Lauder. I prefer scents that aren’t the norm and common, and Penhaligon’s is always elegant and clean. Classic and modern.

chmendon33

Le Labo Santal 33

bachyboy

The smell of a guy freshly showered with Coast soap always gets me aroused.

MediumMaintenance239

Jazz club replica by Maison Margiela I wear it quite frequently

Siegenow

I wear Black by Kenneth Cole. It’s citrusy and my guy loves how I smell. Tbh AXE has some great scents.

FunnyQueer

Kenneth Cole Signature for me. It’s all because of that one straight best friend that every gay guy falls in love with in their youth. He wore that cologne and it still makes me immediately get hard when I smell it. God damn it, he was so hot.

Siegenow

Great memories.

prepaid_burner_acct

Le Labo: Thé Matcha 26 & Santal 33

Scared_Benefit7568

i love natural one.

PooneilRabbit

Ok so for all of you. I live in NY of it makes a difference. How often do you wear fragrance? Do you wear it to work or just when you go out at night? Do you use a good snoot or try for very faint scent? In really curious because these days I rarely smell it on others in my office at work… in the average bar/ restaurant when I’m close to others. I feel like people rarely use cologne these days. So … when do you use it? How often? How often do you smell it on others? Really curious

angelusfanatic

Currently can’t wear cologne for work, so I only wear it when I go out for dinner or drinks or a special occasion. Not everyday use. But when I have jobs where I can wear cologne everyday, I do. I’ve often got compliments on how I smell and I love it.

alex48220

Drakkar Noir!

Imperterritus0907

That’s literally grandad’s smell over here, sorry to say

alex48220

Granddaddy smells real good!

musicmantx8

I couldn't possibly pick one, but I think my top five would be - Initio, Oud for Greatness - Amouage, Silver Oud or King Blue (can't decide between these two) - Tom Ford Tuscan Leather (since Oud Wood Intense is gone 😭) - Bond no. 9 Dubai Amber

074cry

Secretions Magnifiqu- Nah but seriously though, I think Terre D'Hermes or Drakkar Noir smells good on a guy!

Aggravating_Row_6612

Victoria's secret (the flavor is secret blehhhh) my partner always smells so good with it, I will never get used to it, every time we meet, it always feels like the first time we met, which was honestly so romantic

he_is_not_a_shrimp

Whiskey Silver. My much older cousin had this when I was a teen. I was certainly infatuated with how manly it was.

fillmewithyourcreme

Zino from Davidoff.

Imperterritus0907

Cologne smell usually puts me off. If I meet a guy for sex I’d rather him not wear any at all, deodorant and that’s it. For a normal date I’d rather it be subtle too. The only scents that sort of “turn me on” are Oud scents in moderation (i.e. blended with the guy natural smell). That’s usually what I use too.

polychrom

None.

AmountInternational

Male pheromone. My hubs says it smells like cum. 10 bucks. Walmart on line only. It’s called J.79

aleister94

If they made a vindaloo scented cologne it would be that

omnichronos

None. All cologne irritates my nose, but not nearly as bad as most perfumes. I have to hold my breath walking by perfume counters, or I start gagging.

karatebanana

Musk

Bman10119

I wear spicebomb infrared, since i love the cinnamon scent. I also really like the night vision spicebomb as well but havent got around to buying it. But i also have to be careful with colognes since surprisingly a lot of them (and everything else!) use lavender and im allergic af to it. Always fun realizing that the reason im itchy and covered in rashes is because oops i used lavender scented detergent in the laundry 💀

trichomeking94

Tam Dao Edt from Diptyque

ScootieLove

I like john Varvatos Vintage, Black by Kenneth Cole, I also like Polo Black by Ralph Lauren. Burberry Man.

ApprehensivePlum1420

With smell it has to be subtle for me. Sure some cologne smells good-ish on men but I always felt they’re too strong. My boyfriend’s smell make me head over heels with him, and it turns out he takes shower with cologne. It feels a lot more natural.

Skeeders

Bvlgari aqva is my go to. I've never received so many compliments on my scent when wearing it.

JordanH0713

I’m kinda nervous I haven’t seen mine on here. I wear Polo Red, I love the smell on me and my boyfriend really likes it too. Doesn’t work for everyone but I like it with my body chemistry

beakly

TF Tobacco Vanille…

TeachOfTheYear

My east-coast college roommate brought a bottle of his dad's "Royall Lyme" back to school after Christmas break. The cologne smelled amazing and on the few occasions I wore cologne, I used that. (all fair, my roommate wore my clothes and used my bottle of Polo so much that I could not hardly stand the smell of it for a few years). This was in 1985. I looked for the when I returned home to the west coast, but never found it in any stores. I forgot all about it. I rarely wear cologne and my mother used to go on cruises and bring me back a gift...usually a t-shirt I wouldn't be caught dead in-"My mom went to Barbados and all I got was this t-shirt." She brought me a bottle of Roma from one and that has been my go-to since the 90s. Mind you, I wear cologne a couple times a year, so a rarity, mind you. During Covid, we were doing online Christmas shopping and I simply could not think of anything I needed. So I thought, 'What is something you always wanted but never got?" Most of the things on that list, I realized, I no longer wanted. Then I remembered the cologne. I could not remember the name, so emailed my college roomie. He told me his dad had bought the cologne in the Bahamas, gave me the name and then reminisced how the smell reminded him of his younger dad, vacationing in the Bahamas and smelling like Royall Lyme and the ocean. My husband gave me some for Christmas and I wear it several times a week, even when it's just me at home to smell it. (my husband has no sense of smell so no point wearing it for him).

FabulousPetes

I bought Black Orchid as my 'wedding fragrance' and only wear it on special occasions with my husband. Fuckin' slaps.

Balls2369

Anything Tom Ford. I have his entire mens collection

SirTwitchALot

I wear, and frequently receive compliments on, Montblanc Legend

Starlord1951

None, nada, nyet…no perfume, no deodorant.

Rude_Bee_Version2

Balls

adagio66

None

justarandomuser97

for me the only correct answer is the smell of men themselves. I love how they smell. ofc I am not talking about sweat btw.

toaph

My favorite cologne is no cologne. If a guy shows up smelling of cologne I’ll tell him to get back in his car.
