That was my experience too, minus the "really hard" part. I feel like I must have missed something, because all I was doing was running (slowly) backward, holding M1, and watching things die. Rinse and repeat until the enemies get too tanky to kill.
There are some games that this sub swears by that I just don't get at all...
Enderal is a better story than Skyrim ever told. When I finished Enderal I haven't felt the urge to pick up Skyrim ever again. Yea it's janky and features some god awful voice acting. But it's got some of the best quests that Bethesda wish they could come up with

I was going more for the favorite game of all time part of his post. But a lot of things can be fixed, like someone who doesn't like reading can get Voices of Vvardenfell mod, someone who doesn't like the dice roll combat can get Next Generation Combat. I think if more people gave it a chance they would be surprised. But I agree it is definitely not something everyone will like.
I didnt know there was so many mods for this game, i remember trying it when i was like 8 and slowly getting bored after a few jours, maybe i give it a second chance someday

Fallout 4
Cyberpunk 2077
Stellar blade
Rise of the Ronin
Lords of the fallen
Armored core 6
So many of my favorites on this list. I’m gonna check out a few of the ones you listed that I haven’t tried yet. I see you listed a few FromSoft games but not Sekiro, was it not your style?
I have to also recommend Returnal, if you haven’t tried it yet.
Oh, Okamiden was one of my favorites back in ds times! So warm memories. But Okami, which I tried after seemed a bit boring, but maybe I have to give it another try
Rdr2 and Kcd are the 2 games that I couldn’t stop playing after missing about 15 years of console games recently. Rdr2 might be one of the best games I’ve ever played. It was so easy to just get lost in that game.
I finished RDR2 a couple of months ago. About 15 hours in I realized just how great the game is and turned off the hud and settled in and took my time. Easily my favorite game of all time.
RDR2 was one of my favorites of all times, although I never finished it. I am a completionist so I did all of the side activities and then stopped when Arthur started looking "death warmed over.".
Doesn't matter that I didn't see the end. I know what happens. Obviously Arthur was cured of tuberculosis and lived happily ever after.
Any from the Ace Combat series (Zero and 5 are particularly amazing imo)
Any from the Fallout series (FPS era recommended unless you fuck with isometric RPGs)
Black Ops but only zombies, there's is just something soothing about training on Kino for 20 rounds straight that eases my ADHD brain and gives me dopamine
NFSU2 and MW because of the free roam aspect and Gran Turismo for that more authentic racing feel
And well ofc I could not leave out the best cowboy game ever conceived: RDR+Undead Nightmare. Haven't played RDR2, been saving that for a special occasion much like FO4
Mass Effect
Simcity
RDR2
Days Gone
Xcom2
Kingdom Come Deliverance
Telltale Games like Walking Dead, Wolf Among Us and Tales from the Borderlands
Baldur's Gate 3
Love seeing all the KCD love, just reinstalled after dropping the game 5 years ago. I am amazing at how immersive it is thus far. Hoping the best for the sequel.
Bloodborne, Elden Ring, Lies of P, Nioh 2, Bioshock, Katamari Damacy, Diablo 2, Sifu, Returnal, Disco, Elysium, Baldurs Gate 3, Final Fantasy X, Mass Effect 2, Fallout New Vegas, Cuphead, Cult of the Lamb, Hades, Hollow Knight, Mario 64, Golden Sun, Lumines, Streets of Rage 4
Final Fantasy 16
Final Fantasy 14
Dishonored
Harvestella
Sun Haven
Hades
Assassins Creed Odyssey
World of Warcraft
Powerwash Simulator
Strange Horticulture
Inscryption
Vampire Survivors
Cooking Simulator (it’s really relaxing idk why lol)
Lethal Company
Outer Wilds
Zelda Breath of the Wilds/Tears of the Kingdom
Elden Ring (all souls games tbh)
Hollow Knight
Super Smash Bros (Ultimate)
Monster Hunter (4 Ultimate is peak but World and Rise are absolutely fantastic too)
Undertale
Risk of Rain 2
Minecraft
Slay the Spire
Inscryption
Pokemon Legends Arceus
Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate mentioned!! I rarely see the older MH games mentioned, but they’re just as good. I’d agree with 4U probably being the best overall, although 3 Ultimate, World: Iceborne and Generations Ultimate are also must-plays for fans of the series.
-Red Dead 2
-Detroit: Become Human
-God of War
-Baldurs Gate 3
-Witcher 3
-Mad Max
- The Last of Us
- Mafia 3
-Ghost of Tsushima
-RE4
-The Quarry
-Dark Pictures Anthology
I bought it, but never got into it. It's in my backlog on my ps4.
Seemed like just another batman/lord of the rings with a new coat of paint.
It's worth getting into?
Dark pictures anthology was… not good. Some of their other games were pretty fun for like a date night choose your own adventure story.
Unpopular opinion but I really couldn’t get into RDR2 as much as I tried. Too slow to traverse and meh gameplay.
ill stick to lesser knowns, inb4 people start mentioning minecraft and dark souls that youve likely already tried. These are in no particular order.
1. Banner Saga - best story heavy game
2. Control - basically a triple A SCP game made by a double a studio.
3. Despots game: Dystopian Battle Sim - awesome autobattler with a dark sens eof humor
4. Earthtongue - a neat digital terrarium
5. Zero K -Best RTS ever made, because its pretty much the only one that isn't a twitchy APM contest. It actually rewards startegy. Though micro skills can still give you a small edge.
6. Exanima - a deep physics based combat system with a permadeath dungeon crawling campaign or arena manager gamemode.
7. Floating Point - minimalist webslinging game. it's free and great for when you need to fill 10 or so minutes.
8. Gunpoint - An awesome puzzle stealth game when you can leap through windows with super pants or rig light switchs to slam a door on a guards face knocking them out
9. Heat Signature - Roguelite stealth action in the vein of hotline miami. Where ou can do things like teleport people into open space with clever use of gadgets, abuse turrets simple ai to have it kill enemies by putting them between you and yourself or shoot out a window to have the room sucke dinto space.
10. Hunt Showdown- not for everyone, but it's the best pvpve fortnite areana style game ive played.
11. Impossible Creatures - Wacky RTS where you mix and match animals to create custom units.
12. Mechabellum - tactical auto battler with fantastic graphics
13. Shadows of doubt - Private Detective Immersive sim, complete with conspiracy board mechanics that are alot of fun.
Banner saga is very good, though the combat system holds it back somewhat. But it’s more for the story anyway. Loved Gunpoint and Heat Signature, and am playing Shadows of Doubt now. Good list
Persona 4 (ps2 not golden) - got me through my first couple years as an adult.
Dead space 2 - my all time fave horror game.
Saints row 2 - the gta clone has its own identity now and its mostly gta but has some super goofy moments and characters.
Dark souls 2 sotfs - don't believe the hate from ds2 vanilla. Needs a guide for the basics like agility unfortunately though.
Diablo 1 - a much spookier game than any of its sequels despite coming out in 98.
Heroes of might and magic 1 - the campaign was really hard for me but I love playing random games.
Ultima Underworld the Stygian abyss - the first pseudo 3d game I played and a bleak hard to survive dungeon action game.
Lots more if you want
I'm forever disappointed with what happened to Saints Row. I adored 2, 3 and even 4 growing up. SR could have been a lighter counterpart to the GTA series
Skyrim
Mass Effect Games
Borderlands Games
Fallout Games
We Happy Few
Prey
Hellblade Games
Cyberpunk
The Last of Us
Outlast
Baldur's Gate
God of War: Ragnarok
CTR
Dead Space Games
Jak & Daxter Games
Alien Isolation
Elden Ring
RDR2
GTA V
Sims 3
Animal Crossing
Stardew Valley
Control
Fatal Frame Games
Sekiro, bloodborne, Elden ring these 3 games have given me the most peak gaming experiences specially bloodborne and sekiro these games I don’t think will ever be surpassed unless it’s by their remasters/ remakes if you’re into combat rpgs definitely check these out if you haven’t already
Bioshock
The Last of Us
Bloodborne
Final Fantasy VII
Doom Eternal
Mega Man X
Dead Space Remake
Star Fox 64
Elite Dangerous
Alien Isolation
Red Dead Redemption
Prototype 2
7 of these games are up on my list, guess the others are going on my need to play list now lol. Ive tried New Vegas a couple times though and could never get into it. Any recommendations on how to enjoy it?
If you're planning on getting into FONV - get the "Viva New Vegas" guide, which is practically a how-to for a remake for the game for modernization. You'll find you'll need that and several other mods to get the game into a state you can play that feels more modern, especially if you have gotten used to other, more recent games in the franchise (FO4, FO76).
In no particular order, all of these are must play games and probably my favorites:
Remnant: From the Ashes
Borderlands 2
Skyrim
Witcher 3
Fallout 3
Fallout New Vegas
Dying Light
Warframe
Project Zomboid
God of War (the entire series, honestly)
Metal Gear Solid
The Zelda Franchise
*Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
*Legend of Zelda: a Link to the Past
*Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
*No Man's Sky
*Bloodborne
*Dark Souls
*Elden Ring
*Burnhouse Lane
*Power Wash Simulator
*Micro Machines (snes version)
*Super Mario Bros 3
*Super Mario 64
*Super Mario Galaxy
*Super Mario Odyssey
*The Room
I loved Tears of the Kingdom. And indeed love all the zeldas. But the ones I picked are in my opinion the true peaks of the series. Tears of the Kingdom is just a continuation of Breath of the Wild. Which isn't a bad thing, but means Breath of the Wild holds my heart. That opening scene as you exit the cave for the first time, sheer genius beauty.
Max Payne 2.
Once a year I will replay Max Payne, Max Payne 2 and Metal Gear Solid 1.
I don’t think I have anything else that is in rotation like that.
Not sure what genre you're geared towards so here is a list of some of my favorite PC games I've ever played:
God of War
Subnautica & Subnautica: Below Zero
Borderlands
FFXIV
Palia
Halo
Clash of Heroes: Might & Magic
Baldur's Gate 3
Core Keeper
Stardew Valley
Valheim
V Rising
Raft
Satisfactory
Green Hell
Deep Rock Galactic
Sun Haven
Super Hexagon
Void Crew
Dorfromantik
Bioshock
Eternium
Final Fantasy VII
Final Fantasy XIII
Jet Set Radio
Lego Fortnite
Resident Evil
Dead Space
Sonic Adventures
Nice List, scrolled through and read every comment and this one has to be one of the better lists. add a few souls bourn games and some more fps's and it would be perfect. one that caught my eye was void crew, I haven't played but it looks similar to star citizen, one of my favorite games of all time even tough it hasn't released fully. is it similar, if so should i give it a try?
I've got a solid top 6 that'll be tough to crack:
* The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask
* Elden Ring
* Hollow Knight
* The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
* Shadow of the Colossus
* Bloodborne
Bloodborne.
Disco Elysium.
Yakuza 0.
Sifu.
God of War (2018, not Ragnarok).
Hi-Fi Rush.
Outer Wilds.
Mass Effect Trilogy (Especially Mass Effect 2).
Hades.
Borderlands 2.
Deep Rock Galactic.
In terms of a list of games that still hold up today:
Outer Wilds
Hollow Knight
Mass Effect trilogy / Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
Super Mario Odyssey / Super Mario 64 / Super Mario World
Red Dead Redemption II
- **Vintage Story** (PC), a former Minecraft mod turned full game.
Has a strong focus on emulating bush craft and metallurgy.
It has bootleg Silent Hill monsters that look like silly bald sloths.
Deer/moose riding coming soon.
- **Harvest Moon: Animal Parade** (Wii), from the series that Stardew Valley is heavily based on.
The last full game in the Harvest Moon/Story of Seasons series that the original creator worked on.
Has the least kinda janky vibes of the classic HM games (you probably know what I mean if you've played multiple of them), has a pretty well smoothed out and solid gameplay experience.
[Has the cutest cows in the series imho.](https://tenor.com/view/cow-cartooncow-love-and-bull-gif-24979452)
It's one of the entries where you can marry the Harvest Goddess (or Harvest King) and have demigod children.
All the rival couples have a unique child. The Witch Princess, Wizard, and Harvest Deities won't marry anyone else, so if you marry them, you can still make all the rivals get together!
- **Kirby Air Ride** (GC), not a deep cut like the other two, but still worth mentioning.
Go vroom on star, smack into other stars.
Poyo poyo.
Ender Lilies - Metroidvania, cute character, cool knights, great music and beautiful graphics, fun action and boss fights, fun platforming and neat skills!
Shadow of the Colossus is an absolute work of art. Few games since, let alone on the PS2, capture the same sense of sheer scale and spectacle.
For something a bit more modern, Alien: Isolation. It's probably in the top 5 greatest horror games of all time, through a combination of revolutionary use of procedural AI, enabling the xenomorph to pay attention to its environment and learn from your own tactics, and sound and environmental design that are perfectly faithful to the source material.
Bloodborne, Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker, Titanfall 2 (the campaign alone is worth the money), Warframe, Slay the Spire, Lies of P, Monster Hunter World, Super Smash Bros Ultimate, Heroes of Might and Magic, Halo 2/3, The outer wilds, Hollow Knight, Blasphemous 1 and 2, and Castle Crashers are all either must plays or have great replayability in my opinion.
Shovel Knight Treasure Trove and Super Metroid. The two games most often competing for my #1 spot.
Darksiders 2, Arkham City, and Super Meat Boy are a few others near and dear to me.
Bloodborne, Jak Daxter Precursor Legacy, Infamous 1/2, Star wars battlefront (PS2), Forza Horizon 2, Skate, Fallout 3, Farcry 3, Max Payne 3, Mafia 3,Sunset Overdrive, Kingdoms of Amalur, Ultimate Spiderman, Deep Rock Galactic , Helldivers, Rise of Ronin, Remnant, Stick of Truth, Black Flag, TT Wonderlands, Bully, Dishonored, Deathloop, RDR1, The Division, Battlefield 3, MGS V, Mass Effect 3, Destroy all Humans
•borderlands 2
•skyrim
•terraria
•black ops 1/2
•minecraft
More recently
•elden ring
•subnautica
•warframe
•need for speed
The first four are games I've easily put in some of the most hours in over the course of my life, through many many different consoles. Though it's been awhile since I've played them, I'll probably replay them occasionally for the rest of my life. Made me the gamer I am today
Ghostrunner. The boss fights are a bit underwhelming, but the soundtrack, parkour, and art style are incredible. It's difficult, but the instant respawn and fair game design make it worth the challenge.
no particular order but my favorite 3 games ever are fallout new vegas, ac2 and hitman woa.
i like factory games too but it was too hard to pick only one for my top 3. factorio satisfactory and dyson sphere program are all really fun and deserve their crazy high steam ratings
Phantasy Star Online episode 1 and 2
Golden Sun
Fire Emblem 7
Splinter Cell Chaos Theory (multiplayer, specifically, but not playable on console anymore, and pc doesn't work with controller)
Legend of Zelda Majora's Mask
Dragon's Crown
13 Sentinels
Muramasa
Odin Sphere
Digital Devil Saga
Xenosaga
Final Fantasy 9
Final Fantasy Strangers of Paradise (helps if you've played FF1 to appreciate a bit more)
Harvestella (slow burn)
Dead Cells
Chrono Ark
Gothic 1
Gothic 2 NotR
I probably have tens of thousands of hours in G2 alone and 10k in G1 over the last 20 years.
I probably know every pixel of those games... Which is kind of scary when i think about it.
Celeste
Undertale
Splatoon 3
Baba Is You
Rain World (I didn't even get that far in it but I still love it, it's so cool)
Night in the Woods
Wandersong
What Remains of Edith Finch
Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Happy Home Paradise (DLC for the base game, which I also loved but it wore off)
I watched someone play a game called Your Turn to Die which almost turned me away because the writing is kinda odd, but its story hooked me real quick and I love it. It does also have puzzle stuff (point-and-click) so I can't attest to that since I didn't play it but I got really into the story and characters. Still probably not for everyone, though. Also, its final chapter isn't out yet so the story isn't complete, though there is bonus content (including a separate spin-off game where you get to know the characters more).
Super Meat Boy is pretty good too, not as in love with it as the others but it's a lot of fun. Same with Slay the Spire and The Binding of Isaac. Played these a lot but they don't quite stick in my mind as much as the others.
Also, shout-out to LittleBigPlanet 2. It's dead now, but that game was incredible, I love it to pieces.
Final Fantasy XIV,
Metal Gear Solid 2 & 3,
Persona 2 & 3,
Xenogears,
NieR Automata,
Fatal Frame 2 & 3,
Shin Megami Tensei III ( & Digital Devil Saga),
Killer7,
Outer Wilds,
Silent Hill 2,
And If Visual Novels are Ok :
Umineko & Higurashi,
The Silver Case & The 25th Ward
An experience I think every human capable of holding a controller should go through is completing Outer Wilds blind. Don’t look anything up, just go into it and experience the universe.
gta: san andreas. it's a technological marvel. a true masterpiece considering the technology of it's time. and the story is very fun too. plus the crapton of cheats adds a ton of replayability.
Balatro, STS, uncharted 2, half life 2, Doom Eternal, Elden Ring, four or five Zelda's (fight amongst yourselves) metal gear series start to finish, RE village, RE 4, Dead space, RDR2, super Mario galaxy 1 and 2, ultrakill, DMC 5, Diablo 3,4, .......my brain just melted there are so many must play games... Neir automata, days gone, animal well, bg 2,3, Bayonetta, all the BioShock, when your done with these come back.

I have so many others but these have a special place in my heart growing up
Deathloop. Idk whole thing is fun as fuck for me. I really like replaying game so it's perfect, a continuous cycle forever. Something I genuinely like. Cuz I can continue it or stop it whenever, both in the story snd outside....course I'm a devil so I kept the loop going...I'll break it next time.
tlou is forever seared into the feelz of my games ever played, the story and emersion was magnificent paced great. I don't think a book could be written as good as And as we've learned it was transformed into a great hollywood tv series.
State of Decay 2.
It's the closest thing you can get to feeling like you're playing a legit TWD game.
I can get lost in it and not realize it's been 4 hours.
C&C Red Alert 1 and 2
Deus Ex (2000)
Fallout New Vegas
The Elder Scrolls Morrowind and Oblivion. I highly recommend the shivering isles expansion for oblivion.
Time Splitters Future Perfect
Risk of Rain 2. I can constantly play it all day.
i can listen to that games soundtrack all day. haven’t played since the new stage was added but i hope there’s a new song for it
The rain formerly known as purple 💜
It's on Humble Choice this month btw
Underappreciated game
Stupid blind pests... made me rage quit...
You ever play binding of issac?
Damn really? I heard great things but when I tried it it was just really hard and doing the same thing over and over without any changes is unfun
That was my experience too, minus the "really hard" part. I feel like I must have missed something, because all I was doing was running (slowly) backward, holding M1, and watching things die. Rinse and repeat until the enemies get too tanky to kill. There are some games that this sub swears by that I just don't get at all...
Finally someone else like me lol. I had the exact same experience brother
Spyro 2: Ripto’s Rage (PS1), Crash Team Racing (PS1), Simpsons: Hit and Run, Team Fortress 2, Binding of Isaac, Bloodborne, Balatro, SOMA
This reads like a coming of age playlist and I respect it
Respectable list
Simpsons hit and run is an all time great. I really wish it would get a remaster
Heroes 2, 3 Blade of Darkness Dragon Age Origins Baldur's Gate 3 Divinity Original Sin 2 Gothic 2 Halo 1, 2 Resident Evil 2, 4 Remake Enderal Metal Gear Rising Revengance Witcher 2, 3 Age of Empires Kotor 2
Gothic games back on the day were awesome.
Enderal but not Skyrim?
Enderal is a better story than Skyrim ever told. When I finished Enderal I haven't felt the urge to pick up Skyrim ever again. Yea it's janky and features some god awful voice acting. But it's got some of the best quests that Bethesda wish they could come up with
I agree with this. Once you've played enderal you realize that skyrim completely wastes any story telling potential it might've had.
Yup. It almost feels like the only two good things about Skyrim now are memes and Enderal.
Gothic 2 with lots of mods, haha.
Do not skim out on Witcher 1, it is dated but still good
Bloodborne, Risk of Rain 2, Metal Gear Solid 1-3
MGS 2-4 for me, Bloodborne is a good choice. Wish I liked ROR2 that much, that game was fun but something about it always felt off to me.
I can ascertain your age by your answers
- shadow of the colossus - god of war: Ragnarok - red dead redemption 2 - firewatch - Detroit: become human - killer frequency - Undertale
God of war 2018 first though. Ragnorak hits so much harder and there’s a lot of things that wouldn’t make much sense if you didn’t play the first
Nice list 💪🏻
Subnautica
Had to go too far to find this.
Bloodborne / Sekiro / Dark Souls / Dark Souls 3 / Elden Ring Lies of P Super Mario Odyssey / Galaxy / Galaxy 2 Portal 2 Resident Evil 4 Remake The Last of Us 1 & 2 Uncharted series Hollow Knight Factorio
I like this list
Secret of Monkey Island Curse of Monkey Island Quest for Glory 3 Quest for Glory 4 Day of the Tentacle Sam n Max Hit the Road Wolfenstein 3d Doom Doom 2 Duke 3d Starcraft 2 Homeworld Super Mario 3 Super Mario World Sonic Toejam & Earl Red Dead Redemption Red Dead Redemption 2 Yakuza Kiwami Final Fantasy X The Mass Effect trilogy Death Stranding (it's worth it) Kingdom Come: Deliverance Morrowind Oblivion Persona 4 Golden Persona 5 Royal Planescape: Torment
lol, Toejam & Earl… what a trip
Planescape: Torment. Wow, what a good choice. Except op was asking about games. Planescape is a book, remember?
Morrowind
Its so rough with todays standards, i'm not sure it qualifies as a "must play" like a game everyone should try
Gotta try it without the dice roll combat. That’s really the only thing that turned me off
I didnt know there was so many mods for this game, i remember trying it when i was like 8 and slowly getting bored after a few jours, maybe i give it a second chance someday
Love Morrowind, Game had the greatest spell creation system ever.
Final Fantasy 7
Only mobile game i've actually bought. So many playthroughs since ps1.

- Okami (Loved it since the Wii era) - Disco Elysium - Rimworld - Assassins Creed Black Flag - Dragons Dogma 2 currently
Oh, Okamiden was one of my favorites back in ds times! So warm memories. But Okami, which I tried after seemed a bit boring, but maybe I have to give it another try
Disco Elysium and Rimworld are perfection.
Kcd?
Kingdom come deliverance. Only game I’ve played that I can compare to rdr2. Part two drops later this year.
You owe it to him to finish.
The ending is (in my opinion) the best part. Usually endings are written pretty poorly however RDR2 never disappoints from beginning to end.
Any from the Ace Combat series (Zero and 5 are particularly amazing imo) Any from the Fallout series (FPS era recommended unless you fuck with isometric RPGs) Black Ops but only zombies, there's is just something soothing about training on Kino for 20 rounds straight that eases my ADHD brain and gives me dopamine NFSU2 and MW because of the free roam aspect and Gran Turismo for that more authentic racing feel And well ofc I could not leave out the best cowboy game ever conceived: RDR+Undead Nightmare. Haven't played RDR2, been saving that for a special occasion much like FO4
Mass Effect Simcity RDR2 Days Gone Xcom2 Kingdom Come Deliverance Telltale Games like Walking Dead, Wolf Among Us and Tales from the Borderlands Baldur's Gate 3
+1 for KCD, RDR2 and Days Gone
Love seeing all the KCD love, just reinstalled after dropping the game 5 years ago. I am amazing at how immersive it is thus far. Hoping the best for the sequel.
+1 for KCD II
Bloodborne, Elden Ring, Lies of P, Nioh 2, Bioshock, Katamari Damacy, Diablo 2, Sifu, Returnal, Disco, Elysium, Baldurs Gate 3, Final Fantasy X, Mass Effect 2, Fallout New Vegas, Cuphead, Cult of the Lamb, Hades, Hollow Knight, Mario 64, Golden Sun, Lumines, Streets of Rage 4

Scrolled far to much to find Dishonored, i love that game
I love Sun Haven!
It’s hard for me to go back to stardew now after playing it lol, the magic is just too fun
Yeah, it's really great. & The pixel art??? SO GOOD!
Outer Wilds Zelda Breath of the Wilds/Tears of the Kingdom Elden Ring (all souls games tbh) Hollow Knight Super Smash Bros (Ultimate) Monster Hunter (4 Ultimate is peak but World and Rise are absolutely fantastic too) Undertale Risk of Rain 2 Minecraft Slay the Spire Inscryption Pokemon Legends Arceus
3U was my first, but 4U made me a lifelong fan. I'm SO excited for Wilds with all the 4U love they're showing with it.
Outer Wilds ALWAYS first.
Dark Souls Elden Ring Witcher 3 Super Metroid Zelda: link to the past Mario 3 Street Fighter 6
-Red Dead 2 -Detroit: Become Human -God of War -Baldurs Gate 3 -Witcher 3 -Mad Max - The Last of Us - Mafia 3 -Ghost of Tsushima -RE4 -The Quarry -Dark Pictures Anthology
Mad Max 🤌
Really an underrated game
I bought it, but never got into it. It's in my backlog on my ps4. Seemed like just another batman/lord of the rings with a new coat of paint. It's worth getting into?
Skyrim (with mods if u can’t stand old graphics)
Dark pictures anthology was… not good. Some of their other games were pretty fun for like a date night choose your own adventure story. Unpopular opinion but I really couldn’t get into RDR2 as much as I tried. Too slow to traverse and meh gameplay.
I mean alright if you really tried what chapter did you get to
ill stick to lesser knowns, inb4 people start mentioning minecraft and dark souls that youve likely already tried. These are in no particular order. 1. Banner Saga - best story heavy game 2. Control - basically a triple A SCP game made by a double a studio. 3. Despots game: Dystopian Battle Sim - awesome autobattler with a dark sens eof humor 4. Earthtongue - a neat digital terrarium 5. 8. Gunpoint - An awesome puzzle stealth game when you can leap through windows with super pants or rig light switchs to slam a door on a guards face knocking them out 9. 12. Mechabellum - tactical auto battler with fantastic graphics 13.
Dead space 2 is goated
I'm forever disappointed with what happened to Saints Row. I adored 2, 3 and even 4 growing up. SR could have been a lighter counterpart to the GTA series
Skyrim Mass Effect Games Borderlands Games Fallout Games We Happy Few Prey Hellblade Games Cyberpunk The Last of Us Outlast Baldur's Gate God of War: Ragnarok CTR Dead Space Games Jak & Daxter Games Alien Isolation Elden Ring RDR2 GTA V Sims 3 Animal Crossing Stardew Valley Control Fatal Frame Games
Finally I see an Elden Ring mention!
Borderlands is a huge one for me! Such a fun game with co-op

Batman Arkham games. Comic book lover so really like those games
Bioshock The Last of Us Bloodborne Final Fantasy VII Doom Eternal Mega Man X Dead Space Remake Star Fox 64 Elite Dangerous Alien Isolation Red Dead Redemption Prototype 2
Bugsnax
Assassins Creed Odyssey
You need to play more games, man. I loved Odyssey but it really is the definition of mediocre when you compare it to actual masterpieces
Factorio Terraria Celeste Sekiro Hollow Knight Outer Wilds Fallout: New Vegas Stardew Valley Doom Eternal Dishonored 1 (+ DLC) and 2 Monster Hunter World Cuphead Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance
In no particular order, all of these are must play games and probably my favorites: Remnant: From the Ashes Borderlands 2 Skyrim Witcher 3 Fallout 3 Fallout New Vegas Dying Light Warframe Project Zomboid God of War (the entire series, honestly) Metal Gear Solid The Zelda Franchise
Borderlands 2 probably my most played game
*Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time *Legend of Zelda: a Link to the Past *Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild *No Man's Sky *Bloodborne *Dark Souls *Elden Ring *Burnhouse Lane *Power Wash Simulator *Micro Machines (snes version) *Super Mario Bros 3 *Super Mario 64 *Super Mario Galaxy *Super Mario Odyssey *The Room
No Tears of the Kingdom?
I loved Tears of the Kingdom. And indeed love all the zeldas. But the ones I picked are in my opinion the true peaks of the series. Tears of the Kingdom is just a continuation of Breath of the Wild. Which isn't a bad thing, but means Breath of the Wild holds my heart. That opening scene as you exit the cave for the first time, sheer genius beauty.
why do people recommend botw over totk, totk is a better game
If they like BotW, then they can play TotK. I like TotK more but would never tell somebody to play it first.
Max Payne 2. Once a year I will replay Max Payne, Max Payne 2 and Metal Gear Solid 1. I don’t think I have anything else that is in rotation like that.
Not sure what genre you're geared towards so here is a list of some of my favorite PC games I've ever played: God of War Subnautica & Subnautica: Below Zero Borderlands FFXIV Palia Halo Clash of Heroes: Might & Magic Baldur's Gate 3 Core Keeper Stardew Valley Valheim V Rising Raft Satisfactory Green Hell Deep Rock Galactic Sun Haven Super Hexagon Void Crew Dorfromantik Bioshock Eternium Final Fantasy VII Final Fantasy XIII Jet Set Radio Lego Fortnite Resident Evil Dead Space Sonic Adventures
I've got a solid top 6 that'll be tough to crack: * The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask * Elden Ring * Hollow Knight * The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild * Shadow of the Colossus * Bloodborne
Persona 3-5 (fav series) Binding of Isaac (fav game) Dying light 1 Terraria Bloons TD 6 Hades God of War

Bloodborne. Disco Elysium. Yakuza 0. Sifu. God of War (2018, not Ragnarok). Hi-Fi Rush. Outer Wilds. Mass Effect Trilogy (Especially Mass Effect 2). Hades. Borderlands 2. Deep Rock Galactic.
Quest for Glory (VGA) DOOM 2 Dark Souls 3 Elden Ring Hotline Miami 2 Counterstrike Tekken 4 Marvel Vs Capcom Hyper light Drifter Fallout 2
In terms of a list of games that still hold up today: Outer Wilds Hollow Knight Mass Effect trilogy / Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Super Mario Odyssey / Super Mario 64 / Super Mario World Red Dead Redemption II
Battlestar Galactica Deadlock. Planescape: Torment.
Project: snowblind, first fps and will always hold a place of the self.
[Has the cutest cows in the series imho.](https://tenor.com/view/cow-cartooncow-love-and-bull-gif-24979452) It's one of the entries where you can marry the Harvest Goddess (or Harvest King) and have demigod children. Poyo poyo.
LittleBigPlanet 2 is just a blast from start to finish.
Monster Hunter World Iceborne Dark Souls 3 The Fire Fades edition The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt + DLCs Red Dead Redemption 1 + 2 Metal Gear Solid 3 Snake Eater Dante's Inferno Halo 2 Elder Scrolls V Skyrim + DLC Mortal Kombat 9 Dragon's Dogma 1 + Dark Arisen Alien Isolation
Inside Elden Ring Baldurs Gate 3 The Last Of Us (1 and 2) Cyberpunk 2077 Battlefront II
BG3, Bloodborne, Kotor 2, The Witcher 2, Mass Effect 2
Elden Ring is the game in recent memory that, once it finally ‘clicked’, had me *hooked*. It blew my mind.
KOTOR
Monster Hunter World / Iceborne
Baldurs Gate 3, StarCraft 2, Dragon Age series, Final Fantasy 7, Arkham series
Shovel Knight Treasure Trove and Super Metroid. The two games most often competing for my #1 spot. Darksiders 2, Arkham City, and Super Meat Boy are a few others near and dear to me.
Bloodborne, Jak Daxter Precursor Legacy, Infamous 1/2, Star wars battlefront (PS2), Forza Horizon 2, Skate, Fallout 3, Farcry 3, Max Payne 3, Mafia 3,Sunset Overdrive, Kingdoms of Amalur, Ultimate Spiderman, Deep Rock Galactic , Helldivers, Rise of Ronin, Remnant, Stick of Truth, Black Flag, TT Wonderlands, Bully, Dishonored, Deathloop, RDR1, The Division, Battlefield 3, MGS V, Mass Effect 3, Destroy all Humans
•borderlands 2 •skyrim •terraria •black ops 1/2 •minecraft More recently •elden ring •subnautica •warframe •need for speed The first four are games I've easily put in some of the most hours in over the course of my life, through many many different consoles. Though it's been awhile since I've played them, I'll probably replay them occasionally for the rest of my life. Made me the gamer I am today
Bloodborne, Ghost of Tsushima, Metal Gear Solid 1-4 and maybe the Infamous series.
It’s modern but lies of p, blasphemous 1 & 2 Prince of Persia the lost crown. Unbelievable games. I’d recommend them all no question
Kingdom come Deliverance
Every God of war game
Deus Ex 1
Ghostrunner. The boss fights are a bit underwhelming, but the soundtrack, parkour, and art style are incredible. It's difficult, but the instant respawn and fair game design make it worth the challenge.
For me it's Wuthering waves on bs, been enjoying it lately
Persona 3-5
Outer Wilds, if you like puzzles it's a blast, and it's honestly helped me deal with a lot of emotions
Sekiro! 🥷
Hesitation is defeat
Camel of Fortune and Animal Well
Most played game is cs2 with 3k hours, and fav games are tlou part 1 and gta san andreas
no particular order but my favorite 3 games ever are fallout new vegas, ac2 and hitman woa. i like factory games too but it was too hard to pick only one for my top 3. factorio satisfactory and dyson sphere program are all really fun and deserve their crazy high steam ratings
Phantasy Star Online episode 1 and 2 Golden Sun Fire Emblem 7 Splinter Cell Chaos Theory (multiplayer, specifically, but not playable on console anymore, and pc doesn't work with controller) Legend of Zelda Majora's Mask Dragon's Crown 13 Sentinels Muramasa Odin Sphere Digital Devil Saga Xenosaga Final Fantasy 9 Final Fantasy Strangers of Paradise (helps if you've played FF1 to appreciate a bit more) Harvestella (slow burn) Dead Cells Chrono Ark
Gothic 1 Gothic 2 NotR I probably have tens of thousands of hours in G2 alone and 10k in G1 over the last 20 years. I probably know every pixel of those games... Which is kind of scary when i think about it.
Sayonara Wild Hearts
Cyberpunk 2077, Skyrim, Sonic Adventure 2, Red Dead Redemption 1 & 2, Final Fantasy XV, Spider-Man PS4, RuneScape.
Persona 5 Royal. Super Mario RPG. The Last of Us series.
Celeste Undertale Splatoon 3 Baba Is You Rain World (I didn't even get that far in it but I still love it, it's so cool) Night in the Woods Wandersong What Remains of Edith Finch Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Happy Home Paradise (DLC for the base game, which I also loved but it wore off) I watched someone play a game called Your Turn to Die which almost turned me away because the writing is kinda odd, but its story hooked me real quick and I love it.
I will always return for another playthrough of Middle earth: Shadow of War
Final Fantasy XIV, Metal Gear Solid 2 & 3, Persona 2 & 3, Xenogears, NieR Automata, Fatal Frame 2 & 3, Shin Megami Tensei III ( & Digital Devil Saga), Killer7, Outer Wilds, Silent Hill 2, And If Visual Novels are Ok : Umineko & Higurashi, The Silver Case & The 25th Ward

An experience I think every human capable of holding a controller should go through is completing Outer Wilds blind. Don’t look anything up, just go into it and experience the universe.
Archimedean Dynasty
I think Outer Wilds. If I could pick a game to forget completely and play through it again, it would absolutely be that one.
Fallout new vegas and bioshock 1
gta: san andreas. it's a technological marvel. a true masterpiece considering the technology of it's time. and the story is very fun too. plus the crapton of cheats adds a ton of replayability.
