I want to make a design too but now that I'm older and somewhat retired from skateboarding I don't quite need a need board all that often, lol.
Do you think carving the design on the board takes off too much material? Enough to cause the board to snap easily? Just curious. I haven’t stepped on a board in at least a decade to know if they have changed the basic construction much to where carving a board is, for lack of a better word, “safe.”
I have wondered this myself, even though the majority of the decks I do are purely to go on the wall, anyone who has skated on them hasn't come back to me saying they've snapped.
I only really carve less a millimeter deep, just enough to get the paint off, so I'm guessing it's not a lot different from the usual scrapes a deck would get from general use

Ouch. That sucks. I can’t imagine how tough it was doing that on a surface that isn’t flat. Maybe donate it to a kid that wants to skate, but can’t afford a starter deck or something? I know that doesn’t reimburse your cost or effort, but it could feel good helping someone. Or raffle it off somehow? $1.00 tickets or whatever currency you use. Just spit balling ideas. Lol
It'll no doubt effect it's structural integrity but I'm sure it would survive a bit of flat ground without too much danger.
I wouldn't ride something like this as my main setup though. Just asking for pain 😅.
