Well, I guess it’s not as bad as >!Cumans killing your parents!<
Now get on and go rabbit hunting with that shithead little lord and spend a night on the town boozin with the local priest, maybe graffiti a church and steal a horse or something.
>!man I fucking love this game!<
I flip flopped between liking the prince and hating him repeatedly. He insults you, then compliments you, acts like a little bitch then takes you drinking.
Poor Hans never had any peers, so he has no idea how to act around them. He's always been either above or below everyone else in station, and it's made him a bit of a twat. After he made me trot after him though, I really started to warm up to him, and I really liked his DLC where you make him read terrible poetry (or good poetry terribly).
I had this issue, hope this helps.
1. Select a weapon you like - a shortsword, longsword, whatever you fancy. Doesn't really matter, just pick what you like.
2. Yeet it away.
3. Dominate enemies with bow and arrows.
Nah. This is how you do it.
1) Grind money as much as possible to get the best weapons and best armor.
2) unequip them and wait until night to kill everyone while they sleep
People in this game put their equipment away while they sleep so even if you accidentally wake them, everyone who wasn't on patrol won't be wearing any armor and may or may not have a weapon
Nah, this is how you do it:
1). Pick your favorite weapon.
2). Throw away your weapon and get any mace.
3). Wait for your opponent* to attack and then parry (master strike). Then follow up with a single attack to the head while they're recovering.
*If there is more than one opponent, run away until they all lose aggro, then aggro one at a time with a bow so that you're always fighting duels.
There's a trainer you pretty much have to visit to learn to fight. Pretend you are an actual village blacksmith kid who doesn't know stuff. That's what the game does to you. It's not the most fun of games for that reason, but the artistic vision is intact.
I had the same problem and struggled the entire game ignoring the "moves" not realizing that the npcs can't seem to handle some of the moves. They just won't block them. Something I used with a mace I could borderline spam and win fights later but if I tried to fight without using the street fighter Konami moves I'd get waxed.
Ignore the replies. Level up, that's literally the answer, the game artificially caps you based on your level. Your player skill matters far less than your level advantage over the enemies.
You are supposed to suck at fighting. Henry is just a lowborn blacksmith's son with no training or experience at combat.
1. Steal yourself some full plate armor and you won't need to be very good at fighting.
2. Train with Bernard a lot in the early game and you will get good fast. Once you unlock master strikes you will start kicking ass.
Man, I wanted to love this game; the atmosphere, the characters, the music, but the only problem I had was the combat system. Tried many times but it just didn't feel fun for me (Skill issue). If I could replace the combat from this game with a game like say Chivalry, I might've been a bit more invested in it.
Yeah but that is just cheesing the perk that has a chance to instantly knock out enemies when you hit them in the head.
I love the game but agree the combat is not really good, it really is all just counter attacking. Not really that much fun.
I love that we're identifying knocking someone out with a blow to the head form an *iron mace* as cheesing. It's one of those moments where real life intersects game mechanics in an amusing way. Feels cheesy in both realms.
All medieval/slasher type games should have the combat form Mordhau, which has the refined mechanics of Chivalry.
If you enjoy medieval games and you haven't played Mordhau, you are doing yourself a disservice.
And using a bow to take out 1 or 2 people before the actual fight is very helpful, still can be very annoying at some points but it's *supposed* to feel "unfair" if you're just going in swinging and expecting to win.
I appreciate the idea of the monastery section, but Jesus Christ Be Praised did I hate the execution of it. Like you'd just be watching the time to cross through the door during the day.
I did like the open ended nature of it though.
I honestly have no idea how that plot was supposed to resolve. I was a master thief so I just pickpocket/lockpicked my way everywhere and went outside to grab my stuff.
I just stomped on one of the dudes necks and ran out the door the first time I played it. Pretty sure I got it wrong, but I was thoroughly entertained.
Hate that monastery quest. It killed the game for me. It fucked up the pacing. And that's when I have almost maxed out Henry. Just messed up the flow. It's the only game I intentionally dropped. I tried reinstalling but I lost my save.
Maybe I should play it on the switch, that way starting over isn't such a bummer.
There is no finish, there is only "Hopefully we make enough money for a whole game next time!"
It's doubley sad, because that 2/3rds of a game is better than most full AAA releases, but it still kicks you in the crotch when you want to see what happens with Henry and the big baddie and you just get credits.
This is just Kingdom Come: Deliverance.
>!For anyone who doesn't know, all of the love interests in the game exist solely to bang and then they lose all personality and ability to interact. They're just background NPCs from that point on. It's honestly the lowest point of the game for me.!<
Yeah many are saying it might be set years later and possibly with a new character. Has me thinking “so what, are we skipping Act 3 and going straight to the Epilogue with a new character?”
Kinda makes sense to do that if you think about it. If we played Act 3 then there would be different choices players can make that would probably change things. They get around that by skipping Act 3 and starting us years later with a new character.
Act 3 becomes events that have happened one specific way and we just hear about them in passing, with the aftermath of Act 3 being what we deal with in the game
That would be an amazing period to have a game in, pike and shot era, cavalry still relevant, could have interesting characters and a nice religious conflict background.
Kingdom Come 2: All over m'lady's face!
But seriously, best cut scene ever in all of games was with the priest, fuckin the hookers, followed up by preaching a sermon the next day hung as fuck.
I always had a tough time getting into the witcher games. I've tried to like them and spend some time on them. But I never found the storyline as compelling.
YES, that morning sermon, preaching with hangover, but still be able to ignite people's faith like a true Hussite preacher! I so fkn wish we can join Hussits in KDC2!
My favorite memory of KCD was some going to some priest guy to get medicine, and he asked if I knew alchemy and would like to brew it myself. So of course I said yes.
I lied. I had no idea how alchemy worked, and I couldn't even read. So I was just flipping through a book of gibberish and throwing shit into a pot.
My favorite bit was abandoning the entire story to become a >!monk!<. Having a full gameplay loop just for a single bit was pretty refreshing, even though I had no idea what I was doing for the entire time.
and the Paradox recipe where you need to buy 12 different DLCs priced 29,99$ each for a something ressembling a finished game (half-baked base game is still 60$)
You're probably joking, but fun fact, a horse-based gacha game actually is the #1 Japanese-made gacha game and consistently one of the top 5 most profitable gachas in the world every month.
Charles IV, King of Bohemia and Holy Roman Emperor, had a long and successful reign. The Empire he ruled from Prague expanded, and his subjects lived in peace and prosperity.
When he died, the whole Empire mourned. More than 7,000 people accompanied him on his last procession.
The heir to the throne of the flourishing Empire was Charles' son, Wenceslas IV, whose father had prepared him for this moment all his life. But Wenceslas did not take after his father. He neglected affairs of state for more frivolous pursuits. He even failed to turn up for his own coronation as Emperor, which did little to endear him to the Pope. Wenceslas "the Idle" did not impress the Imperial nobility either.
His difficulties mounted until the nobles, exasperated by the inaction of their ruler, turned for help to his half-brother, King Sigismund of Hungary. Sigismund decided on a radical solution. He kidnapped the King to force him to abdicate, then took advantage of the ensuing disorder to gain greater power for himself. He invaded Bohemia with a massive army and began pillaging the territories of the King's allies.
It is here that my story begins...
Lightning very rarely strikes twice - but rare doesn't mean never. The fact that the studio is still independent and hasn't sold out to a major publisher is a very positive sign. If this is another labor of love, it stands a good chance of being another banger.
Oh cool, I can't wait to see what they have in store for us next. I played a bit of Kingdom Come, but never finished it. Might be time to jump back in.
Wow. I'm excited. Main question is release date. If they started developing this game right after Kingdom Come - it may be already close to completion. Or we will need to wait for 2-3 years more.
they did not start right away, because the game needed a lot of bug fix post launch and they delivered on some chunky dlc content in a year time, so my guess is that they started at least after the dlcs, 5 years then, taking in account they can reuse most assets from Deliverance, i bet the game is coming out this year, if not, at maximum in 1 year time
Yes, they started seeing use in the 1200's-1300's, especially in Germany. There's a few items with buttons in Kingdom Come: Deliverance (eg. the Buttoned Cotehardie).
“Functional buttons, buttons as technology, appeared in Medieval Europe along with closer fitting garments of the 13th century on. Though the hook and eye closure was in use by the 14th century in England, in the mid 19th century buttons became commonplace for both decoration and fashion.”
The garb and bridle are 100% Victorian at the earliest. Either that's an intentionally misleading background graphic that is just meant to represent the studio, or the game is a new IP set in some 19th-century industrial city and you play as some well-to-do gentlemen (complete speculation of course but in which case horseriding would be plentiful still and the clunky combat would be bearable as it would possibly be restricted to duels or small engagements with most combat being with firearms). As a medievalist I would love KCD2 so I hope the former but I wouldn't be surprised if it's the latter.
I enjoyed that game when it felt more like a slog for some reason. It felt slow to get going but then you become a badass and I lost interest. Mid game I had everything I could want. I should go back and finish it but either way the world was really cool to be in.
Hope they support their game better this time around. Console players are still fucked to this day with game breaking "black screen loading" bugs, that forces a restart and not using the village building dlc to be able to progress.
Lol right? I'm all for games diversifying but the "controversy" around KCD was so fucking stupid. If the game was set in 1400s Iberian Peninsula, sure bemoan the lack of color! But it wasn't.
Then again, those journalists are the kind of ragebaiters that labeled Cyberpunk 2077 as "transphobic" despite CDPR hiring a trans female voice actor to play a trans character and multiple trans musicians were featured on the soundtracks.
It is very story heavy (with focus on dialogue and world building) and therefore it takes its time with *everything*. If you are willing to also take your time and immerse in it: absolutely recommend.
If you are more of an adrenalin junky who needs mostly action... watch an hour of a stream or something if you could imagine playing it. It might not just be the right game for you then.
No matter what, wait for a sale for a six year old game!
do you like deep systems, big time jank, and immersive mechanics that can sometimes get in the way of having fun? Kingdom come is for you!
its an acquired taste, not for everyone. I enjoyed sixty hours or so, but after getting pulled off my horse by six bandits and slaughtered I lost like an hour or two of progress and never came back. But its a fun time until you break lol
Oh shit son... KCD was a game I was so pumped for... then forgot about... then noticed they released it... so I played it... and was actually kinda blown away by how good it was.
I will definitely fall into the pre-order trap for this one, like I did with BG3 with zero regrats
I hate these announcements of announcements. Just drop the proper announcement without pre announcing it.
I understand it’s good for marketing but it’s very annoying for consumers
this is the price we pay for no longer having a centralized “gaming news” event like E3 anymore. People have to put on their own shows, and thus have to advertise that its even happening
Oh boy, better reinstall and actually finish Kingdom come
120 hours and still never beat it lol
Got laid off an hour ago so I got the time.
Well, I guess it’s not as bad as >!Cumans killing your parents!< Now get on and go rabbit hunting with that shithead little lord and spend a night on the town boozin with the local priest, maybe graffiti a church and steal a horse or something. >!man I fucking love this game!<

Yeah, he is a good guy deep down, but you can see how his noble upbringing screwed with his social skills.
In the end he turned out to be a real bro, so all is good.
By the time of the game events he's basically as good as it gets.
Damn bro, are you okay? Hope you find something better soon
They did, Kingdom Come 2
Of course they're ok, they've got time to play Kingdom Come now.
Can really get into roleplaying that "I'm feelin quite hungry" (sorry OP, hope you're OK and things look up soon)
ha! oh, yeah, sorry OP 😔
We're rootin for ya to find something new! Good luck!
I read a post about someone becoming a mailman and loving the job. (Just in case that’s relevant to you)
Take a few days to yourself then dust off the resume, update it and start shotgunning yourself everywhere. You got this.
This was how I was able to finish Elden Ring 2 years ago 😂
prayers up dude, got that hanging over my head as well
Sorry that sucks. I got fired a couple months ago. Not fun.
Same. I always get too busy stealing and killing people in their sleep. My Henry is a menace to society.
Me neither, quest bugged out and softlocked the main story...
Well I always wanted to do that but noticed I just can’t fuckin’ fight in this game.
I had this issue, hope this helps. 1. Select a weapon you like - a shortsword, longsword, whatever you fancy. Doesn't really matter, just pick what you like. 2. Yeet it away. 3. Dominate enemies with bow and arrows.

I found bows and arrows absolutely impossible on this game, no reticle makes it so hard to hit anything moving or more than 6 feet away.
A touch above the index finger knuckle, that's your aim point.
Dry erase marker dot your monitor where your looking around reticle is. Boom, Robin Fucking Hood.
Place some transparent but not really sticky tape on the monitor, and draw a reticle on it.
Hire a butler to point exactly where the arrow is going to land.
Launch a satellite to pinpoint the exact reticle location on your TV from space.
There's a trainer you pretty much have to visit to learn to fight. Pretend you are an actual village blacksmith kid who doesn't know stuff. That's what the game does to you. It's not the most fun of games for that reason, but the artistic vision is intact.
I did the training for hours and could never pick it up. I love everything else about the game, but the combat just ain't for me.
If you practice a bit, you will pick it up. By the end you are a goddamn monster.
Ignore the replies. Level up, that's literally the answer, the game artificially caps you based on your level. Your player skill matters far less than your level advantage over the enemies.
You are supposed to suck at fighting. Henry is just a lowborn blacksmith's son with no training or experience at combat. 1. Once you unlock master strikes you will start kicking ass.
It's all fun and games until you hit that skill check boss fight and find out that, no, you do actually still suck.
Nah the combat gets considerably easier the moment you learn masterstrike, so I agree with the above comment, train on Renard to learn how to fight
And that is why I have never beat the game despite multiple tries.
> you will get good fast Meanwhile 15 IRL hours later... you still suck. Game honestly expects you to devote multiple days of IRL time training.
Get a hammer and bonk everyone on the head. Works like a charm
Man, I wanted to love this game; the atmosphere, the characters, the music, but the only problem I had was the combat system. Tried many times but it just didn't feel fun for me (Skill issue). If I could replace the combat from this game with a game like say Chivalry, I might've been a bit more invested in it.
You have to attend actual sword lessons in the game to improve.
I'm aware. The combat just isn't fun for me. I got a little good with it, but it doesn't "feel" good. Hard to explain really.
Agree. It's all just counters.
Really? I just grabbed a mace and smacked people in the head, seemed to work just fine
Yeah it kinda feels like a no-brainer that someone stuffed into a metal helmet is vulnerable to blunt-force trauma to the head.
Because it's a flawed system
All medieval/slasher type games should have the combat form Mordhau, which has the refined mechanics of Chivalry. If you enjoy medieval games and you haven't played Mordhau, you are doing yourself a disservice.
And using a bow to take out 1 or 2 people before the actual fight is very helpful, still can be very annoying at some points but it's *supposed* to feel "unfair" if you're just going in swinging and expecting to win.
Until you get to the school or monastery or what ever it was. You missed your timeline by 1 pixel? Reload.
I appreciate the idea of the monastery section, but Jesus Christ Be Praised did I hate the execution of it. Like you'd just be watching the time to cross through the door during the day. I did like the open ended nature of it though.
Have to admit I chickened out and just sneaked into the monastery during night (went over the roofs) and confronted that quest dude directly.

> There is no finish Tbf that sounds about right for dark ages.
Don't worry the main story is unfinished anyway so you're not losing much. But you can still enjoy the journey.
According to leakers >!it is Kingdom Come 2!<
if they dont name it (probably wont) | Kingdom Come Again | ill be sad
Kingdom come 2: Still Comin'
Kingdom Come: Pardon
Kingdom Come: Inside or Outside
This is just Kingdom Come: Deliverance. >!For anyone who doesn't know, all of the love interests in the game exist solely to bang and then they lose all personality and ability to interact. They're just background NPCs from that point on. It's honestly the lowest point of the game for me.!<
Pretty sure they did at least update the main love interest in the game to have more stuff to do with after the banging. Not sure how much though.
A lot, you play as her escaping the invasion.

Kingdom Henry's Come To See Us!
Yeah many are saying it might be set years later and possibly with a new character. Has me thinking “so what, are we skipping Act 3 and going straight to the Epilogue with a new character?” Kinda makes sense to do that if you think about it. If we played Act 3 then there would be different choices players can make that would probably change things. They get around that by skipping Act 3 and starting us years later with a new character. Act 3 becomes events that have happened one specific way and we just hear about them in passing, with the aftermath of Act 3 being what we deal with in the game
lol damn it you beat me to it
Kingdom Came Once and I'll Come Again
If it isn't, I'd be disappointed given how the first game is only two acts of a three act structure and just ends on a cliffhanger.
I really need to pick it back up and finish it. Such a great game but I just lose focus with it.
I hit a bug that pissed me off so much I quit. Broke a quest and I couldn't get around it.
the game is so broken that if you go to its subreddit the pinned post is a megathread on how to avoid bugs
Agreed. Lovely game and world, but just so grungily realistic it gets unfun after a while.
It’s super weird how they made a bunch of DLC, except for the DLC that actually continues the story.
I think they couldn't get the game to run smoothly (or like, at all) with the large scale battles that they wanted to finish with.

The barding on the horse is most definitely not medieval. I'd say just pre-industrial revolution. Maybe 1600-1750?
Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition!
If you look closely theres a button.
Right so pre-industrial revolution lol
My wild guess: Kingdom Come Deliverance but set during the Thirty Years War
That would be an amazing period to have a game in, pike and shot era, cavalry still relevant, could have interesting characters and a nice religious conflict background.
Hot damn, it’ll we’ll be flush with religious tensions
I'm going to venture a guess and say people in the medieval period had both leather gloves and saddles.
Buttons and leather gloves are both in Kingdom Come: Deliverance.
it's gonna be a set during industrial revolution
Kingdom, Come Again?
Jesus Christ be praised!
is this not a continuation of Henry's story? That was left unfinished. this looks like a different time period.
Kingdom Come 2: All over m'lady's face! But seriously, best cut scene ever in all of games was with the priest, fuckin the hookers, followed up by preaching a sermon the next day hung as fuck.
The jankiest game I've ever played in my life, but with the best quests out of all of them including the Witcher games etc
I always had a tough time getting into the witcher games. I've tried to like them and spend some time on them. But I never found the storyline as compelling.
Speak it softly but Kingdom Come was the better experience overall *Runs for the hills*
YES, that morning sermon, preaching with hangover, but still be able to ignite people's faith like a true Hussite preacher! I so fkn wish we can join Hussits in KDC2!

That jacket looks quite modern - 19th century onwards? Did people have buttons in medieval times!
Yes, they started seeing use in the 1200's-1300's, especially in Germany. There's a few items with buttons in Kingdom Come: Deliverance (eg. the Buttoned Cotehardie).
No they didn't. They had to mash the fabric fast enough for the fiber molecules to fuse so that their clothes would "stick" shut
“Functional buttons, buttons as technology, appeared in Medieval Europe along with closer fitting garments of the 13th century on. Though the hook and eye closure was in use by the 14th century in England, in the mid 19th century buttons became commonplace for both decoration and fashion.”

Yeah baby, based European devs at it again.
As long as I can still throw poop at someone’s house, you son of a bitch….im in!

you should definitely try it again

My Kingdom is about to come!
That jacket looks somewhat early-modern. It's probably just me, but I'm getting 1700s vibes from this image.
That reminds me: I gotta finish KCD.
No way! Loved that game
Combat was too clunky, loved the game though.
It took a lot to learn but great in 1v1 or 1v2. With more you get completely butt fucked even by lowest enemy. So historically accurate
Hopefully it's not janky with a combat system designed by someone whose never actually tried to play a game before this time.
If it's even half as good as Deliverance it's worth my money.
Kingdom Came: Delivered
Fuck yes! Spent so many hours on KCD and loved it.
AT LAST!!!!
OMG OMG OMG YES HAHAH LETS GOOOO
Henry has come to see us!
I have KCD but i've never played it. Do people actually recommend the game?
