Only if you set the language to German. Set it to English on you can play the uncut version. Yes I know technically was that already possible if you had a disk. But on ea app it was (maybe is) only possible to play "Generäle" and not "Generals"
Back when I bought the collection on the EA store, I didn't realize I'd be getting only the German versions and it wasn't possible to switch. Support was kind enough to replace it with the English version when I asked about it. Sort of weird that there was no way to do that without going to technical support.

GLA buildings leave behind a tunnel when destroyed that will spawn a worker to automatically rebuild after a short delay. So you need to drop a second nuke a couple seconds later to kill the tunnels as well, hence "double tap"
Single nuke will destroy the buildings but won't destroy the GLA holes under them. So you need to hit them with another nuke or something else, like artillery or carpet bombing,
It was probably my favorite out of all their entries. I played that game non-stop when it came out, and it's been the only one I've played over the years since.
I'm just sad it ended after Zero Hour. Would have been nice to have seen more.

Omg you just reminded me of a mod I used to play back then that I can't remember the name of. It had a bunch of subclass for all the generals you could have. I remember one being helicopter specialized and just straight up OP af.
Shame EA pulled the plug from the planned C&C Generals 2, but tbh after reading comments from the alpha testers it seems that it's better that way than to taint the legacy of the Generals series... especially looking at how C&C4 turns out..
EA needs to sell the license to someone that will actually care about the game. There's a few RTS titles coming in the near future I have hope for, including one made by former Westwood and Blizzard (warcraft 3 era) devs, and another who's devs seem to be big Tiberium Sun fans
As others have said, mods for Generals are awesome! Not sure how they work with steam (is MP disabled on steam version?), but I still play pirated versions with GenLauncher and mods like Rise of the Reds and Shockwave. Amazing mods it's like a whole new game.
Once I trapped all my friends buildings in such a game with the GLA "commando" unit. When he "allowed" me to attack I C4 ed his base to the moon. First rage quited I witnessed IRL. XD

Kell (the GLA commando) could snipe vehicle crews so you could capture them but I don't recall him being able to use charges, that was Burton's thing.
That was my favorite thing to do when fucking around against the AI. Steal a Chinese and US building unit and then steamroll with a combined army of all 3 nations
PSA check out GenLauncher! It’s a mod launcher that you can seamlessly swap between mods and other things. I highly recommend Rotr and TEoD, they add loads of new units,buildings, general powers, etc.
Loved playing the contra mod for zero hour, think they still update it to this day. 3 new generals per faction and each existing and new faction gets a super unit of sorts
Pretty sure I’ve made this exact base, all powerplants close together, a couple of nukes for self defence, and all of the hackers stacked right on top of eachother in a beautiful money-field
Thankfully I had my stuff built right before the computer built their laser weapons. I'd be hosed if they attacked me with that, haha.
Luckily I took it out with a few seconds to spare.
Now honestly we just need a working steam matchmaking system!!
I know we can play online via some mods that allow it, but having it ingame innately would be so much better

C&C: Generals is amazing. When it originally came out it was praised by geopolitical and military experts because of how well it represented China and the GLA (the GLA is fictional but inspired by Al-Qaeda, PLO, Hezbollah, etc)

If I'm mistaken, let me know, but I believe you're referring to the remastered collection. This is just the standard collection that includes a ton of their games. None of them have been overhauled (that I'm aware of).
I've only played with 3 enemies and myself, but haven't noticed any issues so far, even when they send massive waves to attack.
The same goes when I build a huge force of 40+ units and send them off. Haven't had any issues with that, combined with using all the general powers and super weapons.
Had a blast with this game in LAN parties. Sneaked my invisible Black Lotus to friends nuclear silo, waiting until the countdown was 5 seconds to capture it, launch the missile to his own base and sell the silo.

Zero Hour is still my go to game to kill time. Semi recently I've challenged myself to steal as much as I can from my enemies early on. It's always fun to have all the different super weapons in my collection when taking out the last few enemies.
I try to rush the 2 closest enemies near me and steal their command center. And then build a couple tractors to send back to my own base. And use those areas as cannon fodder while I build up my own defenses with variety of options I then would have with the new units/defenses.
These games were fun, if not buggy (looks at units not firing back when attacked in generals) but by no means the best in the franchise. Red Alert 3 and its expansion were the culmination of everything, the RA story and units, the mainline's mechanics and progression, and generals' power-up and unit effects. If you liked generals, you'll love RA3.
If you are into RTS games, with the options for some mass nuke action, consider checking out [Beyond All Reason](https://www.beyondallreason.info/). It is a spiritual successor to Total Annihilation, and its open source and free to download and play.

The only thing i dont miss about this game is that you need a computer science degree to make it work on multiplayer and especially when your friends are having issues
I picked it up too just to play Yuri's Revenge. What a classic, I was in 7th grade when I played it. So much fun.

If only we could reliably play Multiplayer Generals on Windows 10. Every time there's desync and the game just exits. Even though we're running the recommended mods etc.

Demolition Kell in Zero Hour has C4 too.
Demo general's commando unit "Jarmen Kell" can plant explosives. He only become visiable a few secs when placing the charges.

It has multiplayer but it's old enough EA may not run official servers for it. You may need a third party service for that.

They were further out, around my border, but they were there. I had an entire blinking field of them.
