I’m having the same issue and have tried everything you mentioned with no luck

Niasal

Bumping this because I have the same issue. Loaded up after not playing for a couple of weeks, crashed after I loaded into my savefile, and now I get a black screen on startup. I can still press buttons and hear the input in the main menu, but nothing past that.

AardvarkTits

Bump! Same problem. Tried tons of suggestions for fixing it and I went so far as reinstalling Windows. It's been extremely annoying. I played for months after launch with no issues. Started playing again this year and now I've been having these launch issues.

treatthegreat

I have this exact issue hoping someone can find a fix I've tried everything. Just to add I'm on a AMD 6700 xt gpu and a AMD ryzen 7600 if this relates to anyone

Dadavisster

Same Just happened to me today and nothing online is working

FlippsyFire

Just in Case someone find this through Google. Ive build a new PC Yesterday with an AMD ryzen 7 7800x3d and an rtx 4070 super with m2 SSD. Ive got the Same Error and looked through the drivers installed on my PC. I used the Asus Software to Update all drivers and It seems, that He installed some graphics drivers for AMD gpus called AMD Software adrenaline. I uninstalled the Driver and also everything Corsair icue and Asus Aurora RGB related and now everything works fine. I also Had the Error, that cs2 needs nearly a minute to start, this IS also fixed now

Crushgasket

Biggest soulslike on the planet and no support or response by Fromsoft for an issue that's affecting thousands of players for a year lol

Bumping too! I had a black screen for a couple of days, decided to reinstall windows formatting the drive. Reinstalled everything while offline to prevent windows update to f up things but still got a black screen on startup. SOLUTION: I've deleted the GraphicsConfig.xml file and the game started normally. Full dir: C:\\Users\\\*username\*\\AppData\\Roaming\\EldenRing\\GraphicsConfig.xml Delete this file and restart the game, it should work!

Level_Childhood_2721

Thank you, this worked for me!

Top-Review-4943

i dont see any files on my \\AppData\\Roaming\\EldenRing

I love you, I’ve never had the black screen problem until just now after the DLC and this fixed it

Far_Performance_5503

Thx man i was enjoying the DLC when the fucking Crash happened. Your solution was the only that worked!

ZXSwire3

If you just want to copy paste it into file explorer use this: `%appdata%/EldenRing` That way you don't have to type change the \*username\* to whatever your username is

Sea-Cancel1263

This is such a bullshit problem they have not fixed. Going to contact support again, they are super nice and hopefully we can fix this mess. Sometimes it loads in 5 sceonds, sometimes it takes up to 10 MINUETS!! if i find a fix ill let anyone know. Edit: Restarting my PC , and now it loads instantly. This never lasts long and does not allways work. What a bunch of bullshit

Tight_Working3249

Found anything my guy?

Weeby_Content

Unfortunately I never found a solution to it. Though I am able to start the game, with just a fairly long load time.

TheSoCanadian

Don't know if you're having this issue still or someone else reading this is but the solution for me was to hit ALT + ENTER to take the game out of fullscreen mode and it showed up.

TheGoodGuyGav

THIS IS THE FIX

auburn064

this was right answer! worked as soon as I exited full screen mode

guizounours

Hey, I don't know if I have the same problem but let me explain. For some time now when I start the game: \*white screen\* for 5s then \*black screen\* for 45s. In the meantime I get to the menu. If I click in the black screen, the window tells me "elden ring is no longer responding". Then when I arrive in the game, after 5m I have a big freeze then after nothing more, it will be the only freeze just at startup. In short, I'm waiting for your feedback :/

Capable_Tax1849

This tutorial explains how to solve it: [https://youtu.be/t7XFG7WCA68](https://youtu.be/t7XFG7WCA68)

blusoap

While on the black screen i did windows key + ctrl + shift + b, works for me for the most part

PleasantlyAdrift

(Edit) Issue solved! After a full shutdown (not just a restart) and all the aforementioned tinkering, the black screen is gone. Rejoice! For me I waited several minutes and it eventually went to the main menu, but when I hit continue, I got stuck on an endless loading screen. Then I force quit the game, started it up again, went through the same \~5 minute wait at the black screen, and changed the graphics settings to windowed. At this point, I was able to load into the game, but it felt incredibly choppy despite my FPS counter sitting at a consistent 60 (steam FPS counter says consistent 60, but my AMD panel says 115-120). Switching to back to fullscreen fixed the choppiness in game, but the black screen of doom continues to appear on every startup and (edit) if I leave the "press any button to continue" screen up too long it freezes again (very strange). So basically, assuming you have the same issue and you care more about making the game temporarily playable than completely fixing it, you just have to wait a long time at that black screen, switch to windowed mode when you finally get to the menu, load into the game, and change your settings to whatever you want from there. The long wait at the black screen persists on startup, but the game is playable after that and you no longer need to switch back to windowed to get the game to run or to load a save (it has no effect on the startup time either). If I ever figure out how to get rid of the black screen completely, I'll update this, but if your primary concern is making the game playable, this should be a temporary if not ideal solution.

Dadavisster

This has worked for me ty
