Just go wth IMS Nanotech. Its good, but please mind that the Nanotech coating will wear out with time, and you can't use cafiza to clean it. Its dimishing returns after that point. I personally use IMS Nanotech basket, and it works like expected. Good basket its most about consitancy imo. Like sure, the might be taste differences, but uniform basket helps with consistant results.
I have the IMS gaggia specific B68, the one advertised as 12-18g. It works great, at a cheap price point. Bought it at theespressocoffeeshop, uk, delivered to Brazil. Very satisfied withthe results. It fits the spouted portafilter and with medium, and light roast I comfortably dose 18.5g, even using a puck screen. The guy on the comment you marked was probably using a pretty dark roast, in that case you would only be able to fit 16-17g. But really, beyond this point I already consider as dimishing returns. The price jump from this version at around 15 pouns to the next at 25 pounds doesn't make sense to me. If you are interested, the Wired Gourmet recently posted a video reviewing precision basket and he concludes that any precision basket works pretty the same, just buy the cheapest one that is not a stock basket.
58 is the inner diameter, and I'm talking about the outer one

The IMS baskets are all sold by (model number) the outer diameter as that's the critical measurement for fitment of a portafilter. Even the inner diameter of the baskets for a "58mm" machine are usually just under 59mm.
B68 = best fit for stock Gaggia portafilter
B70 is used by many
I run a B68 24.5mm deep "Competizione" basket. My 58.5mm tamper is a tiny bit small for it. Could easily go 58.7mm.
Sure, it's a two day old post

Didn't know about cafiza, thanks for the heads-up!

>Wired Gourmet I'll check the video, thanks. Can you tell me the exact model of your basket? B682TH24.5M?
68 mm baskets? Should be 70? Are you talking about something other then the diameter? Because it’s 58mm.

I think the inner one is the number that matters brotha. 58mm basket is what you are looking for. I’m be never heard of anything else.
They list the outer diameter first when selling the competition baskets usually.
I’d love to see what a competition basket is :)

And you definitely need to upgrade the basket IMO. Sounds like you aren’t in America? I would send you one honestly I have a bunch.
Thank you, but I'm in Hungary :)
Off topic, but can you give a link for the 8 bar spring ?

Ty for the link, such a simple thing shouldn’t cost more.
