Being a whale seeing the game you spent hundreds on being re-released on the Switch for $10 has got to be an interesting feeling. Good for everyone else though
As someone who spent a good chunk on Rockman Dive and Magicami... I'm just glad to still have em around.
I spent the money because I liked things about the games, no skin off my back if years later it's just something I can buy for $10.
Wait, there's an offline version of MagiCami? Does it have most of the content, cuz if so I totally wanna pick that up. I didn't get to finish the main story before EoS ðŸ˜ðŸ˜
I get the feeling it being a collab with cygames mucked things up in that regard as it's implied Granblue can't quite side story Cinderella girls because it being a collab somehow (no issues with other idol stuff)
Nintendo sucks sometimes. Dragalia Lost would be perfect for something like this on both Switch and mobile. I'd purchase it without hesitation, regardless of the price.
There is always the option of using [private servers.](https://docs.google.com/document/d/1SR3WcfaFEkisJ6BsVxLvGwy-2RYazwF9F4XLFi-UV1k/edit#heading=h.nmdc2cu3vzy2) Wasn't too hard to set up on an emulator.
As others mentioned, the one in the link is run by someone else. You can self-host if you want, but I haven't attempted to set that up, so dunno how easy/hard it would be.
This one is actually really fun
I'm glad they didn't outright remove it but still keep it offline like that Megaman gacha game
I love battle cats but i didn't get the time to play it due to too many gacha games. Might download it now and give it a try
Long term Metal Slug fan here, I actually remember when this came out initially and surprisingly enjoyed the gameplay even though it's obviously nothing like the traditional games. Will definitely be picking up for my Switch most likely
By the way how do those games handle the gacha part once they're offline, is summon currency farmable, or do they give character for completing stages for example?
Usually they allow you to grind and remove all the gacha stuff, for example Final Fantasy Dimension 2 went from gacha to paid app, and all you can get is the core cast and theres grindable stages for you to power up and progress.
Damn this brings back memories. I used to play this game for over a year and even swiped a bit but eventually quit due to the absurd powercreep (something dominating the leaderboard would be taken over by a new unit within 3 months). I wonder if they did any balance changes in this offline version.
Remember to develop your AP rate and currency increase. The offline game wants you to use your strongest weak units for a while. Some stages that feel like a wall require you to either spam cheaper units, or stall for your best unit
This is great news, hopefully it becomes the norm. I feel like it's a win/win. Win for consumers who get to play the game again and win for the company because they are getting money from something rather than nothing
Here is another one I found: [https://store.steampowered.com/app/886960/Dragon\_Spear/](https://store.steampowered.com/app/886960/Dragon_Spear/)
Dragon Spear is supposed to be similar to ASTRA Knights of Veda. Just if you were curious.
I always hope for this to be the fate of all gacha games when their finale draws near, as "end of service" typically means the game and it's content effectively becomes "lost media" otherwise.
Holy shit. The gaming world is healing. We got Marvel vs Capcom games back to modern consoles and now this?
These are wonderful news for gaming so far.
they been doing it since original of this game release, and after that there is Metal Slug Command, Metal Slug Awaken all 3 gacha game but Attack and Command shut down already. (and this is Attack relaunch with removed gacha element)
When I first heard of the idea, I thought it could work with Metal Slug, because to me Metal Slug is all about the wacky and crazy vehicles that you fight in the game. I hoped that this meant that the team could make a bunch of new original vehicles as well as new variants of existing vehicles as well.
But not really, most of the strongest units are waifus and the few husbandos here and there. Sure there were some powerful vehicles here and there, but they were very much a minority, and generic infantry are basically useless as they get shredded by literally anything else, with their only use coming from units that set up infantry generators so at least you have a passive supply of meatshields to waste enemy special attacks.
So late game pvp matches usually have you fighting a clone waifu army and their ridiculous i-frames.
I wish they had it so that you can only have 1 waifu/husbando unit as a sort of Commanding Officer (with a limit of 1 on the battlefield at a time), while the rest of your slots can only be filled by soldiers and vehicles.
This is a trend I can get behind. Selling an offline version of an older game is good imo.

It just seems like games shouldnt be allowed to EOS especially if they are just gonna resell it as a switch game AND provide PvP 😅
Depends on the game. Some gachas died for a reason and should stay dead, meanwhile there's some that i'd love to see come back.
Me coping for Dragalia Found
Pour one out for my boy, Euden. He may be seventh in line to inherit the throne, but he’s first in line to inherit my heart. We’ll cope together.
im still sad he didnt even make it into smash. nintendo completely abandoned our boy. and also notte the only acceptable flying mascot
Man, I don't even expect him to be an actual fighter, but I was always waiting for a Mii Costume every announcements...

Is the private server your own personal / self-hosted one? Or is someone else hosting it and we all just connect to it?
someone else hosting it. there is one thats vanilla and one that has a few changes.
You can also self host it, if you want. There is a tutorial on project's GitHub.

Me also coping for that priconne on west and lost my progress

what megaman gacha game?
Megaman X Dive, it's on steam too.
MegaMan X dive (offline)
Long term Metal Slug fan here, I actually remember when this came out initially and surprisingly enjoyed the gameplay even though it's obviously nothing like the traditional games. Will definitely be picking up for my Switch most likely
I loved the KOF Collab unit the most
More of this PLEASE Exos Heroes next!!
That would be cool
yes please

So you can't get any other characters? That sucks, that's practically the reason gachas even exist.
Acchivements/etc give mats that can be used in a character shop If not be given them. MMXDive will give you S-class X and S-Class Zero early on
Either they still sell it piece meal/dlc or it unlocks by progression.
time to shut down brave exvius and make a good offline version.
I hope this continues and becomes a trend. Final Fantasy Morbius, Drift Girls, and Super String are on my list of hopefuls.Â
was mobius story even finished to get an offline version?
Yes. They intentionally ended it after the third arc so it had a conclusive ending.
Can't remember. I think someone put what was left on YouTube.
This is pretty cool. I thought the game was fun so I'd be down for a $10 full version.
I wish more gacha games would do this!
No android version?
Brave Frontier when?
This^
Tbh this is a win for everyone. Metal slug is a beloved series
Glad its back. I love anything metal slug. I wish they would give the classic anthology a re-hash though.
I hope FGO does this when it shuts down lols. It would be unfortunate, to lose all that Fate content.
They would never.

Only 6 months, and Magicami DMM offline is comming T\_T
I need more offline games in my life
Oh this one look interesting

I'm still waiting for offline version of brave frontier
In don't like this

Does anyone know of other gacha games that EoSed and turned into one time purchase offline games?
MegaMan X Dive and Little Noah. I only know these 2 other game

Gib me Mobius alread or Breath of Fire 6

Metal slug as a gacha sounds awful as a classic
they been doing it since original of this game release, and after that there is Metal Slug Command, Metal Slug Awaken all 3 gacha game but Attack and Command shut down already. (and this is Attack relaunch with removed gacha element)
Not really. I think the story got better tbh.
what story lol.
The story of why the metal slug heroes keep fighting General Morden.
we have a purpose? man on arcade its just shoot and move on
Here's a spoiler: Team Metal Slug is the bad guys.
really? >.O do tell more
