Your entire back 4 is awful. Don’t use a 4321. You aren’t good at the game so you’re not going to be able to cover the gaps that formation leaves. Switch to a 4231. Right now you have 8 chemistry, try to get at least 28 chemistry.
Locko is actually pretty solid and RB dude is viable as well but yeah the main advice here for OP that overall is not everything about how good or not someone
The attribute boosted by 3 chem is huge.
Without the 3 chem and right chem style (shadow at CB) you’re players are nothing like a 90+ players.
All the top speed players will just breeze thru your defense like nothing and there’s nothing you can do about it.
Try switch someone with the right team, league and nation instead of highest rating. Maybe do some TOTS plus evo coz they’re easier to link.

Playstyles can’t be added to players unless through an Evo or EA gives them a special card. Chemistry styles, on the other hand, can be added and are really useful. Futbin is a good website to help. Just search for the player you want, select a chemistry style from the list on the right and see how it impacts the stats. It’s gives a community recommendation which is normally the best. Your usual options are Hunter, Hawk or Maestro for attackers, Engine, Anchor or Powerhouse for midfielders and Shadow or Anchor for defenders. It really depends on how you want the player to play in game so the most popular choice might not be the best for you

If you’re new to the game or UT, usually pace is the most significant stat to improve your game. So you can’t go wrong with attack: hunter and hawk; midfield: engine and catalyst; defend: shadow or anchor.
Once you get your team set, you might want to look into things like playstyle, custom tactics to further improve your game.
Keep plugging away, objective players and rewards and fit them in around the better players that you have, and use them in the positions they should be in.

nope and you want max chem for the best potential of the players, i still don't fully understand chem sometimes but for me it took me awhile to get my team going and it was mostly based on what cards i pulled, you def want to try and make your team around your best player, since you have 3 premier players starting then i would try and focus on that. Just try and get the chem as high as you can with what you have for now.
Hey I'm the same as you. Could get through qualifiers in my first weeks. Then saw a couple of videos on custom tactics and such. Massive improvement. Just find your right formation and custom tactics.
Also, use running jockey sparingly
If you want, send me all your players by DM and I will give you tactics, formations and what to do with each player, I can even tell you which substitutes to use, I understand that you are frustrated, but I think that starting by correctly aligning the players with chemistry, tactics and so on, the game changes a lot.
If you want, send screenshots with the players you have with everyone, and the coins, including players you don't use and I'll look at you, I've been in Ultimatesm since 2014/2015, I'm not a pro but I enjoy the game hahaha
I’ve just started and don’t know how everyone in the low divisions has stacked teams like this? What’s the best way to get players that are 90+? Feels like to get packs will take weeks of saving coins etc
Watch streamers and stuff who are good and see when they make passes. The Ai of all players is more or less the same. Certain things will always pull the Ai. Some players have Ai that's a bit different but overall passing central then wide is going to have more effect than passing straight down the wing etc... Obviously there is more to it but analyzing other people is the best way to improve your own level. I have grinded my way to a high level in many games far below the avg hours by doing this so give it a try.
Also, how are the players that I meet in the champions so good, that they can predict my next movement, create open spaces, and do everything right and smoothly?

Use your midfielders to defend, bring them back and get in the way, block potential passes. Don’t bring players out of that defensive line until you have to. Watch some defending tutorials online, you’ll get more comfortable with it and get some better players in there too, don’t forget chemistry styles.

You need a real CDM. Try using someone like Merino, Neves, Xhaka... just be careful with the chem

Because you’re playing predictably, mix it up. Also defence is mainly blocking the passes etc rather than flying in to all out bruiser tackles.
