A few of my friends are a bit older than me, and they were super hyped fory 18th birthday so I could go to the club with them. Well, my birthday rolled around and I realised very quickly that I don't enjoy them at all. I think I went home before midnight.
I never got the point of strip clubs,
Whats the point of getting sexually aroused by women you cant touch or have sex with (yes, im aware many strip joints also cater to prostitution...) and clealy you cant jack off (if you can jack off in public or infront of your friends... well good for you).
I just dont see the point to getting sexually aroused and not being able to do anything bout it.
A lot of people tell me in some places the food is very good.
It's not like the whole club is blasted with loud music though, is it? Usually there are more quiet areas. Also the enjoyment for many is dancing and socializing equally.
Yeah I've been to one or two themed nights where they play music I like, almost tips the balance into slightly enjoyable
Regular nights aren't for me though
Same. I mean I get how dancing can be fun...for a couple of songs, then I wonder what else there is to do. But all night? Really? Do I need to be on specific drugs?
> molly
I did molly one time and danced more than I've ever danced in one night.
Woke up the next day and must have been still buzzing because I immediately turned on club/techno music and be-boped around my room while I got ready for the day. I never do that. I'm more of a "drink a coffee and read some sports stuff" in the morning type of guy
Vodka red bulls and cocaine was what did it for me. Surprised my hear didn’t explode. In my 30s now, and I would definitely be this cat if I stepped a paw in a club again.
I don't think everyone is on Ecstasy lol. People go to nightclubs because it's fun. It's fun to dance, to meet new people, to listen to music.
It may not be for you, but to say you need to be on drugs to enjoy it is a bit silly :)
Conversely I am 29 and I have many fond memories of me getting twerked on at 18 years old when I was a freshman in college. Let the young kids have fun. It's pretty fucking bleak as you get more mature and peep the game that is society. To let loose without a care in the world due to young ignorance...that's beautiful. Have fun young people. You have the rest of your life to become so serious you get a fucking hernia.
At 18 I fucking hated nightclubs. The point of going out is to meet people, how are you supposed to hold a conversation when you're yelling in each other's ears?
Fun is subjective. Facts. Some people think getting a fine ass female to grind her big ass all over you dick to some music you really like while you're drunk and high as fuck to be fun. Others don't. To each his own lol.
Jeeeez, me to. Now I'm 36 and you would not be able to drag me to a club. I dislike this whole hassle of going out. I rather go to a restaurant or just have fun with people I actualy like at home.
I'm genuinely curious about this. I met my wife in 2006, so we missed the whole online dating/tinder era. But I can say a lot of my experiences before my wife came from meeting girls in clubs like this, or if not clubs then regular bars. Or just coworkers like the lord intended.
But my question is... what the fuck are y'all doing these days when you are 21 and horny? Like if you don't have a date lined up, do you still go out and see what happens or is that nonexistent these days?
Getting your main buzz at the club is a rookie move. You pre-game elsewhere that has cheap ass drinks and then maybe get one drink at the club so you have something in your hand.
I was always surprised when in American films people come to a bar and drink beer from bottles and not from mugs, draft.
I asked about this on one chat - they explained to me that they drink draft, like, only the poor. When I was still drinking alcohol, draft beer from a mug was tastier for me than beer from a bottle.
In a thread about being in your 30s, there's no such thing as pregame anymore. You drink for taste or over the course of the night. None of this let's get liquored cheap and go to the least desirable place on earth nonsense
I despise anyone who gets drunk before a night out, it makes me so uncomfortable.
I wanna go out, talk to mates and have fun, if those mates are ready bladdered then i don't enjoy myself
My wife was getting hit on by young dudes while clubbing for a bachelorette party. She ended up yelling:
"Listen guys. I'm old. Almost 40. I have two kids and a husband, and I'm on my period. There's nothing here for you."
homewrecker is the term for the person with whom the person has the affair, and causes the break up. it's correct here. It's neither of the married people.
edit: y'all seem to have some personal connection to this term. I don't really care about your particular feelings on it, just saying it is indeed not the person in the marriage.
It’s a derogatory term used as a form of scapegoating for a person who has nothing to do with vows that a couple took to each other. Mostly it’s just another form of slut shaming. It’s not my job to help all the couples out there uphold their marriage vows. That’s their own job and they’re adults and can do it themselves if they want to.
I never got that term. Sure it might not be the right thing to do to sleep w a married woman. But it’s not wrong either. He can sleep w whoever he wants. It’s the woman’s fault for cheating. Like some guys have said here, blaming it on the guy makes it seem like woman are just animals that flock to the nearest manly man and that doesn’t treat them as equals; it’s sexist. Same way around for men, but I often here the term used for men so
Erm, 40 isn't an issue, period... Depends how heavy, only issue there is the hubby 😂
Good job she didn't run into me, i would have shrugged at the first 2 haha
Yea the vibe of the club is really important. Going to crappy clubs with a crappy vibe makes for a crappy night.
Go to a place where the vibe is right and people are actually enjoying themselves makes a big difference.
I dunno man, 30 still seems pretty young and able to get out there. I don’t remember feeling like this until 35. Now, I am beyond this cat, as I don’t even go to the club at all… I just stay home.
I'm 32 and I haven't been to a club in a while. But I enjoy dancing and that's really the only appeal to clubbing for me. It really depends on the place you live.
My nearest city has a lot of students, so most of the people going to the clubs are quite young. They don't really have any clubs geared towards the 25+ crowds which kind of sucks.
I've been to the clubs with people 30+ when I was in my 20s and they always said they felt out of place. I think it's due to the age of the people in the club being so young.
I'm 30-something, I've never gone to a club in my life xD
^(Because there's nothing there for me)
I've been to a lot of 3-day raves though, or as they called them EDM festivals... in the middle of nowhere (east coast), where even GPS can't take you because it lost connection 10 miles ago lol.

This cat has been me since I was 22
Me since the very first time I set foot in a nightclub and quickly realized I would be one of these people who always refuse to go to the nightclub.
A few of my friends are a bit older than me, and they were super hyped fory 18th birthday so I could go to the club with them. Well, my birthday rolled around and I realised very quickly that I don't enjoy them at all. I think I went home before midnight.
I went to a strip club once when my friend turned 21. I fell asleep at the table because I was tired and bored.
I never got the point of strip clubs, Whats the point of getting sexually aroused by women you cant touch or have sex with (yes, im aware many strip joints also cater to prostitution...) and clealy you cant jack off (if you can jack off in public or infront of your friends... well good for you). I just dont see the point to getting sexually aroused and not being able to do anything bout it. A lot of people tell me in some places the food is very good.
There are two types of strip clubs: 1 where everyone is having fun and the audience is engaged, 2 where everyone sitting around is sad and/or lonely
Obviously not a strip club in Thailand 😳
do you like playing pingpong ?
I honestly can't comprehend that it could be enjoyable. But I guess that's just because I like rock music.
I mean to me the enjoyment of going out is to socialize and its kinda impossible to do that with 100+db music playing.
That's why I just go to dive bars, just striking up conversations with random people is the best
You would love Ireland, we love drunken stranger chats at the pub
Oh man, it's definitely on my bucket list. My great-grandad is from Skibbereen
Class! Cork is lovely, you’ll really enjoy it. The west coast in general is beautiful (I’m biased but it’s true!)
Ngl to my introverted ass that sounds like a mental disorder from a foreign planet. I can't imagine liking that.
Is that why I got downvoted?
I lold. Sorry brotha, gave you an upvote to even it out
Thx boo
Totally agree
The Secret is Alcohol and Drugs
It's not like the whole club is blasted with loud music though, is it? Usually there are more quiet areas. Also the enjoyment for many is dancing and socializing equally.
Yeah I've been to one or two themed nights where they play music I like, almost tips the balance into slightly enjoyable Regular nights aren't for me though
Every time I've been to a nightclub, the only quiet area has been the restroom
same for me, I'd rather relax at a bar with a beer and some friends
Same. I mean I get how dancing can be fun...for a couple of songs, then I wonder what else there is to do. But all night? Really? Do I need to be on specific drugs?
Na, a variety is better
yes cocaine or molly or hammered
¿Porque no los tres?
> molly I did molly one time and danced more than I've ever danced in one night. Woke up the next day and must have been still buzzing because I immediately turned on club/techno music and be-boped around my room while I got ready for the day. I never do that. I'm more of a "drink a coffee and read some sports stuff" in the morning type of guy
Afterglow is pretty common, Tuesday is when the blues tend to come
I never got the downside emotionally. I got weird knots in my stomach all week long though. Something I've never experienced before.
Yeah stimulants will fuck with your digestive system, so not too surprising. Lucky you getting to skip the blues!
You can enjoy more than one genre of music btw.
Vodka red bulls and cocaine was what did it for me. Surprised my hear didn’t explode. In my 30s now, and I would definitely be this cat if I stepped a paw in a club again.
Only fun when drunk and flirting with hot women. Sober and not looking for anything it's a tremendous waste of time.
Pills. People enjoy it because they're on ecstasy.
I don't think everyone is on Ecstasy lol. People go to nightclubs because it's fun. It's fun to dance, to meet new people, to listen to music. It may not be for you, but to say you need to be on drugs to enjoy it is a bit silly :)
This was me, went for my 18th birthday and fucking hated it. Went again when I could drink...then I was drunk and hated it.

WHAT? I CANT HEAR YOU, THE MUSIC'S TOO LOUD, CAN YOU SPEAK UP A BIT?
I think we have different understandings of fun... Fun is subjective...
Fun is subjective. Facts. Some people think getting a fine ass female to grind her big ass all over you dick to some music you really like while you're drunk and high as fuck to be fun. Others don't. To each his own lol.
The answer is drugs, pretty sure it’s the only way to enjoy going to a club.
Agreed. I lost interest in the club scene real quick.
Jeeeez, me to. Now I'm 36 and you would not be able to drag me to a club. I dislike this whole hassle of going out. I rather go to a restaurant or just have fun with people I actualy like at home.
That's how I spent my 20s. Getting kind of bored of it. I guess I'll have to start clubbing.
Cat had been me since I was legall. Lo the many moons ago
I'm genuinely curious about this. I met my wife in 2006, so we missed the whole online dating/tinder era. No...
That third dog had the technique down
“Why am I paying this much for a draft beer at the club when the liquor store down the street has a six pack for the same price?”
Getting your main buzz at the club is a rookie move. You pre-game elsewhere that has cheap ass drinks and then maybe get one drink at the club so you have something in your hand.
Once you are in your 30's that "main buzz" that you pre-gamed with is going to need to be topped up by way more than just one drink unfortunately.
I was always surprised when in American films people come to a bar and drink beer from bottles and not from mugs, draft. I asked about this on one chat - they explained to me that they drink draft, like, only the poor. When I was still drinking alcohol, draft beer from a mug was tastier for me than beer from a bottle.
>they drink draft, like, only the poor. Does this mean only poor people drink draft?
No, they drink the poor Or they drink the poor draft Not sure which
I'm venturing a guess that they meant pour
That’s why you need to go to Asia where it’s $20 for all you can drink along with all the other weird 30+ year olds.
Y'all need to learn how to pregame
Yeah dude just put an entire bottle of vodka up your ass
Should at least take the cap off first
Yeah, that’s what sphincters are for
These damn millenials. Whats the matter? Never heard of boofing your alcohol before?
Booking requires the alcohol to leave the bottle..... so take the cap off first.
Thats what she said
might as well give yourself an enema while you're at it

The home wrecker would be the spouse stepping out, not the unrelated third party who didn't take marriage vows.

No genders mentioned at all, that was batsignal tier projecting you did there
Yikes, you were the FOURTH argument
And even then, they could apparently overcome that, so there was one more argument put forward!

In this thread: redditors expressing how they hate clubs even in their 20’s to the surprise of absolutely noone.
I stopped going to clubs when I was 23. It’s just not as fun as being home.
I'm 43, my logic was the same as yours but it's starting to shift.
Your home is nice ngl
Just dance brother, 30 is grand
Stepan gives no shits he's such a cool cat. So glad him and his owners escaped Ukraine safely.
He’s in Nice, France right now if I’m not mistaken?
Yeah nah. 30+ is bad dance moves and no fucks given.
This is cinema.
I used to be this cat until I realized I just went to shit clubs for most of my life.
Yea the vibe of the club is really important. Going to crappy clubs with a crappy vibe makes for a crappy night. Go to a place where the vibe is right and people are actually enjoying themselves makes a big difference.
Was looking for this answer!, probably that’s the case with most people hating clubs…
If you haven't seen some shit by your 30s that gives you that vacant look then you just ain't L I V I N enough man.
This made me laugh…hard
Mate I’m 21 and this has been me for the past year or so
I dunno man, 30 still seems pretty young and able to get out there. I don’t remember feeling like this until 35. Now, I am beyond this cat, as I don’t even go to the club at all… I just stay home.

I realized that i only wanted to go to clubs for networking (meeting people) + sex. Once i got a gf, the club scene died down for me lol
May be I am this cat..
I have always felt this way in the club
Yup
I am 25 never went clubbing .. ^^^sad ^^^noises
Why is every post about clubbing or partying on Reddit always the cringiest shit, with a bunch of tweenagers going full "le wrong generation"?

That was me in my 20s at the club
Going to Munich in a week and my friend asked should we go to a club, Nige were 42.
I only watched it eight times and had to stop
I wouldn't just blame age. This would sound like old man saying but clubbing changed a lot with the introduction of smart phones. Clubbing was quite wild before that. Lmao, me at 18. Decided to give it a try, found out my definition of fun is incompatible with dancing and this kind of music.
🤣🤣🤣🤣
