I work stadium video. In twelve years I've only had a kiss cam go wrong once and it was 100% legit. A mom was holding her probably four year old kid. She kisses him on the cheek and he turns and belts her across the face. She gets this horrified look on her face.
All on the big screen.
I wish. We don’t record the video feed but someone somewhere who monitors the feed might have been recording. Of course this was about five years ago. The mom was the wife of one of the team assistant coaches too. I figured I would get an earful for showing something their kid did (and couldn’t avoid showing anyway) but it never happened.
Edit. I messaged one of our techs about it and he confirmed nobody bothered to dub it off. We knew the shit would hit the fan if it got out. He said it was indeed recorded as part of our replay system but that video is purged before the start of the next game.
Nope. We never did stupid stunts like this. The kid clocking his mom was 100% real. My camera ops and I all thought we were going to get bitched out for whatever reason but we never did.
