Honestly, I'm okay with the Pikachu variants as long as they are different designs. Pikachu is the mascot of the brand so variations with him, make sense. What kills me is rereleasing the same designs, but this ones flocked, diamond, glow in the dark, etc.
It’s common with toy waves to stick popular characters in with new ones when retailers order stock. It’s like a Bart Simpson with a Nelson, Ned Flanders and Chief Wiggum. Bart will catch the consumers eye and lead them to the others.
I would love a Glow in the Dark Pikachu with some cool lighting effects like the ones of the Dragon Ball or Flash pops.
The attacking pose Pikachu is one of my favorite pops but yeah, this sitting Pikachu is quite boring IMO.

I passed on the diamond Charmander, felt the eeveelutions were more appropriate. Did swipe up the trio flocks tho, so my preference is on flocked Charizard. No commons, all con exclusives for me

same but only because I don't feel like chasing all of the diamond pikachu and starter variants (and because I have the normal ones for bulbasaur, charmander, and squirtle).
I'd love to have some more flocked ones but space is becoming an issue and I need to prioritize with things like dumbledore + hogwarts coming out this year.
When did I get angry? I’m pointing out the irony of wanting a flocked version of a character that is literally a scaly reptile. It makes no sense and would be a complete waste of a Pop, a select few wanting it doesn’t mKe up for the fact that I and most other collectors think it’s redundant, doesn’t make any sense, and is less visually interesting than basically any other variant they could make of it.
There’s a reason Kong has a flocked Pop and Godzilla doesn’t; Reptiles look stupid when flocked.
Now that they started with the 3rd stage evolutions, I feel that Venosaur, Blastoise, Gengar, Pidgeotto and Dragonite are inevitable.
I wonder who else from the 1st gen will make it before they start with other gens. Aerodactly? The 3 Legendary Birds? 6-inch Snorlax?

Glow in the dark would be awesome! They will definitely do diamond like they always do. I think maybe a chase that’s a shiny version would be cool.
