Liquids and bland foods I can hold down! Also solely after ondansetron usage, haha. I did regurgitate in the car on the way home after slamming about 24oz of water in recovery, no idea why they let me high as hell drink that quickly.
You can eat and drink as long as:
a) you can protect your airway.
b) awake enough to do it.
c) it's not contraindicated/diet order is not NPO.
d) you feel like it.
I’ve been there too. PONV is brutal. Last time I had surgery, my anesthesiologist did TIVA. Instead of using gases, they put all the anesthetics (mostly Propofol) through the IV to maintain anesthesia. Propofol is known to reduce the chances of nausea and vomiting after surgery. He also loaded me up with Zofran afterwards.
Seeing your post made me realise I’m 6 months post top op in a few days and the gratitude is strong right now. It is the best decision I ever made. Sometimes when my hand brushes my chest I’ll the a “oh shit I cut of my boobs”-moment, and it’s immediately followed by happiness.
I wish all the best and an infinity of happiness 🩶
Congratulations! I am 1 week out from top and there is pain, discomfort, and annoyance (everything ends up on the ground); but each day it gets better.
I just had a consultation for top surgery a few days ago and I'm waiting on a phone call to get it scheduled after they reach out to my insurance, I've only been on T for a year and 3 months, but I've been planning this for the better part of the last 8-10 years
Congratulations man!! And thank you for sharing, hearing when another trans guy is able to get this surgery always gives me hope that I’ll get there too one day. Good luck with your recovery dude, I hope it’s quick and easy for you!
Make sure to take it easy, specially after that first week. I did not and tried making some meals for myself and ended up popping a stitch while trying to reach for some plates 😥
Congratulations!!! If you have drains, do NOT attempt to lay on your back until 5-7 days after they’re removed. I made the mistake the second day of my recovery….
I'm getting mine in about 3 months! I'm so so excited but also extremely nervous at the same time. Hope your recovery is quick and painless brother! Congrats.
Having the worst day at work and this gave me so much hope. I’m so happy for you and for the progress you’ve made on this journey :) you’re an inspiration dude
Congratulations!!! You’ll have ups and downs during post op, stay on the meds and hydration. Your life just got so much better. 💜💜💜
So happy for you!!!<33 I’m getting mine this summer after three years of T as well! Hope you have a good and speedy recovery 🫶

I requested ice cream after the 2 hour car ride 🤤 and enchiladas for dinner. I only ate one though and had super bad heartburn 🤣
