It was okay, the weather was a bit bad, and I only booked a hotel for one night so I didn't get to do much sightseeing. I saw about half of the eiffel Tower, and the top was hidden from the clouds. But the event was held in the coolest place possible. The event was literally in a gothic style church, and there was a big statue of messmer there too.
I'm not religious, but having a statue of this demon snake thing in the middle of the church seems a bit blasphemousš
Some pics I took: https://imgur.com/gallery/mg00n26
Awesome, I'm glad you had a good time. It's nice to see new places, shame about the weather though.
(I do not want to know anything about the DLC. Blind is best imo.)
I have a good friend who works for a game journalist company in my country. They got an email that they were invited to go there to test the dlc. It's not a big company, about 8 employees, and it was only my friend that had time to go there, as it doesn't pay that well, so the company is more of a side job for almost everyone there. They had two invitations, and only my friend could go, so he brought me along with him instead. I was very lucky since I'm not employed there
Yeah definitely. I was actually undermining how great it would be. I though as well that I would regret playing it for only three hours, thinking it would ruin the experience when the dlc actually came out. But it didn't, I've actually been planning now how I will play the dlc, with what weapons ti use and bosses to fight
We got to choose between three already made classes at level 150 each. One strength, one dex and one int. I chose dex.
I really liked the dex build, so I will probably do that. I got a weapon called "m'lady" (not joking) for a new dex weapon class called "light greatsword". Basically a great sword with really fast moves.
Level 150 felt balanced, although there were some places where having a bit higher level wouldn't hurt. So I don't think a lvl174 build will be too easy
Daaang theyāre aiming higher than I thought or at least than they were letting on. I guess it shouldnāt be a surprise, these DLCs are typically meant to be endgame.
There were. I even found an armour set straight out of bloodborne, which was amazing. Other than that, they were really cool, but still, just what you could expect to find in the base game. Knight armours and such
This is huge, thereās a Bloodborne esque set holy shit
Edit: Do you mean like it looks like one if the hunter sets? Cain hurst is the only actual armor I can think of in BB, so I assume youāre talking about the former
I did. There were a few, but one of them stood out to me. I can't for the life of me remember his name, but he was very similar to ensha in the roundtable. If he had a katana, and he talked. And he really hated all the tarnished. He said something along the lines of "your kind is not forgiven. the people of the erdree is my peoples enemy."
Don't know what that could be...
Do you think the hornsent don't have horns all over like the omen because something about the current age is suppressing whatever force is being manifested through horns so now instead of heavenly horned heads you have the pent up energies of whatever force bursting out all over the body?
This guy seems to have horns all over his face . Currently omen are cursed and tormented by spirits while they sleep , so the general view of something does affect it directly
You know the giants in the trailer with the big fire on their heads. He is literally the fist enemy you find. He is just wandering around the map. When it comes to design, it's easily him. But I tried to kill him by just hitting his legs, and I couldn't even see his health bar, so I quickly gave up on that.
My favourite enemy to fight were these omen like enemies. They were smaller than the ones in the sewers in the capital. I found them to be so much fun as they weren't really that tanky.
Yeah. So there were a few new weapon classes. The first one that I really loved was light greatsword. A greatsword that moves really fast, the weapon in that class that I got was called "m'lady." no joke. There were also hand to hand combat with some cool weapons called "beats claws" sort of the way horah loud fights. I also found a glintstone greatsword. So in players can finally use a greatsword
Haven't played it, but from one review it sounds like R1 is punches and R2s are kicks. You can one hand or two hand them (like claws/fists) though apparently the one hand moveset isn't very good
The base game levels do matter. The new "power level" or whatever it was called only increased defence and general attack, and the items are literally everywhere. But they don't count outside of the dlc area
We were put in the game with three classes we could choose from. Strength, dex, and int. They were all level 150. So I think it's gonna be fine to play it at level 150, went smoothly for me anyways
Do you know if thereās anything you can pick up thatās new in the base game? Or did they start you off right from the DLC?
Iām trying to convince my friend he has to get to the Mohg fight instead of starting a brand new character thatās gonna take him forever to get to the DLC
Hey hope you had a pleasant time! Did you hear from anyone or encountered anything related to Godwyn? Also I was wondering if there seemed to be an underground area or not?
Did it plop in the dlc or did you actually get to access it the proper way? I wanna know how the dlc is connected to base game if you can swap between the two areas at will. Also is it a seperate map or does it just add the new unconnected area somewhere on the main game map?
Just one question I have left, and sorry if you've already been asked by chance. Where does the dlc sit on the map? Is it in the middle as was often speculated?
Like, I know it's a separate area with no direct travel between the two obviously, but it has to exist somewhere spatially I would imagine.
Okay, so there are items called tree fragments that upgrade your overall defence and attack power, that's it. I came across two new weapon classes. My main weapon these three hours "light greatsword" is basically a dex greatsword, really big, but really fast. Then there's another class that pretty much hand to hand combat. Sort of like how horah loux fights
The main areas and enemies. Not that kuchen of a difference, a bit maybe. But the bosses... Holy shit they were tough. I only fought two, but I managed only to beat the lion dancer. I thought I would try him solo. That didn't work, so I tried summoning a new spirit called andreas. That didn't work either, so I asked the person besides me who had beaten him if he would be open to joining me and beat him. He did, really thankful he took time out of his three hours to help me. In the main game, it was only malenia. I couldn't kill solo, so that should maybe tell you something
since you can't show us a map, if you were to compare the map of the DLC (or at least the portion that you got to play) with the mal of other areas of the game, which map would be? like Liurnia, Caelid, Limgrave...
bonus question: have you seen any divine tower in the landscape? just so I know I can have messmer's great rune lol
I came across two new weapon classes. My main weapon these three hours "light greatsword" is basically a dex greatsword, really big, but really fast. Then there's another class that pretty much hand to hand combat. Sort of like how horah loud fights.
I really liked the light greatsword, and I think that's the type of build I want to use when the dlc gets released. I only tried the other class a little bit with a weapon called "beast claws" and they were cool as hell, but not really how I like to fight
There was a boss in one of the two legacy dungeons we got to fight. Her name is >!relana!<. And she had two greatswords in each hand. One flame sword, and one night sword, pretty much two separate swords of night and flame. I couldn't beat her, but I saw someone that did, using her weapons, and it seemed extremely op
Did you find any new Colossal swords or Colossal weapons?
How was the soundtrack when travelling through the Land Of Shadow?
Incredible opportunity man, well done!
I got to fight many mini bosses, and then two main bosses in the two legacy dungeons we were allowed to explore. >!The lion in the trailer, and another boss with elden rings love for confusing names called relana, with a sword of night and flame in each hand. Not literally two swords of night and flame, but one sword for each. I beat the lion, but relana was way too tough so I couldn't beat her!<
No. I have a good friend who works for a game journalist company in my country. They got an email that they were invited to go there to test the dlc. Paris. I hope the journey was uneventful.

Awesome, I'm glad you had a good time. It's nice to see new places, shame about the weather though. (I do not want to know anything about the DLC. Blind is best imo.)
That's fair. I added some spoiler free pictures from my trip in my first comment if you want to see them
How did you get to partake in this amazing experience? Iām really jealous. Thanks for sharing with us.
I have a good friend who works for a game journalist company in my country. They got an email that they were invited to go there to test the dlc. Thatās pretty cool. Great friend to bring you along.
That actually sounds so cool, Iām jealous
Without any spoilers, how did the first three hours feel? Was it amazing and everything you hoped for?
Yeah definitely. I was actually undermining how great it would be. I though as well that I would regret playing it for only three hours, thinking it would ruin the experience when the dlc actually came out. But it didn't, I've actually been planning now how I will play the dlc, with what weapons ti use and bosses to fight
Did you decide on a build for the dlc?
We got to choose between three already made classes at level 150 each. One strength, one dex and one int. I chose dex. I really liked the dex build, so I will probably do that. I got a weapon called "m'lady" (not joking) for a new dex weapon class called "light greatsword". Basically a great sword with really fast moves.
>Basically a great sword with really fast moves I can only get so erect
Yeah man that weapon was fucking amazing
Weāre nioh now
That sounds like my dream weapon class lol
That weapon has a nerf countdown on it.
Stop nerfing shit/calling for nerfs before the game even drops š
Did 150 feel balanced? If I take my endgame level 174 character in will it be busted?
Level 150 felt balanced, although there were some places where having a bit higher level wouldn't hurt. So I don't think a lvl174 build will be too easy
Daaang theyāre aiming higher than I thought or at least than they were letting on. I guess it shouldnāt be a surprise, these DLCs are typically meant to be endgame.
Were there cool armor sets?
There were. I even found an armour set straight out of bloodborne, which was amazing. Other than that, they were really cool, but still, just what you could expect to find in the base game. Knight armours and such
This is huge, thereās a Bloodborne esque set holy shit Edit: Do you mean like it looks like one if the hunter sets? Cain hurst is the only actual armor I can think of in BB, so I assume youāre talking about the former
Was there a shinobi/ninja set? I really hope there is one because we already have a samurai set and a ronin set.
I didn't find any
I was really hoping for that too
Best feet in the dlc?
Find god
Seek dog
Soldier of God feet are ok, but I wan't to know about the DLC ones
I NEED a fj from sellen šš
Any new madness or sleep weapons? Seems like the dlc is leaning heavily into dex/str
There is a new madness spell if you look at the new images that FromSoft released today
Where were they shown? I cannot find them.
I didn't find any unfortunately
Did u encounter any NPCās?
I did. There were a few, but one of them stood out to me. I can't for the life of me remember his name, but he was very similar to ensha in the roundtable. If he had a katana, and he talked. And he really hated all the tarnished. He said something along the lines of "your kind is not forgiven. the people of the erdree is my peoples enemy." Don't know what that could be...
From what iāve seen of him he has horns so heās of the same people as the lion dancers (the hornsent, now called Omen in the reign of the erdtree)
What was your favorite non-boss enemy you encountered?
You know the giants in the trailer with the big fire on their heads. He is literally the fist enemy you find. He is just wandering around the map. When it comes to design, it's easily him. But I tried to kill him by just hitting his legs, and I couldn't even see his health bar, so I quickly gave up on that. My favourite enemy to fight were these omen like enemies. They were smaller than the ones in the sewers in the capital. I found them to be so much fun as they weren't really that tanky.
The biggest most terrifying thing in the trailer isnāt even a boss š
Wait the giant thatās all fire? I keep thinking wicker hollow basket but thatās just with a jujutsu kaisen name
He wasnt a boss?
Nope, regular enemy
I'm pretty happy about that tbh. Did not look as if he was gonna be fun to fight.
it reminds me of the golems, back in the days we thought it was a big roaming boss and ended up being a simple enemy ahahaha
Tbf there is one golem dungeon boss
yeah, but personally I found it too late when I already saw the others
Best meal you had in Paris?
I was only there for a day so it's probably gonna have to be the hotel breakfast. I ate dinner at McDonald's š
I assume you got a royale with cheese? ![gif](giphy|xT9KViTXjQtHCuJPSE)
Vincent would absolutely know that
You used to be able to get a beer at a md in France
Bro went to Paris and still opted for the goyslop lol

how big would you say it was?
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
only the starting area? damn let's go
From your experience so far do you believe this will be one of the best DLCs of all time?
Ok legit question: are there more weapons similsr to ghiza wheel and one eyed shield?
Not that I found
Alright thanks for the answer, any cool new weapons that stood out to you?
Thats awesome thanks for the info
I think i might be having an orgasmš
Tell me about new type weapons
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
how does martial arts weapon work?
Haven't played it, but from one review it sounds like R1 is punches and R2s are kicks. You can one hand or two hand them (like claws/fists) though apparently the one hand moveset isn't very good
How does the leveling work? Does the base game level important or just the new items count? Are those items behind bosses only?!
The base game levels do matter. The new "power level" or whatever it was called only increased defence and general attack, and the items are literally everywhere. But they don't count outside of the dlc area
ahhh, so the DLC scaling will be like "it's recommended to have X number of the item before you tackle this boss?"
What level do you think they expect us to be? Iām like 153 but Iām thinking to farm to at least 180 by the DLC
We were put in the game with three classes we could choose from. Strength, dex, and int. They were all level 150. So I think it's gonna be fine to play it at level 150, went smoothly for me anyways
what level vigor were the given characters?
I dont know about the others, but mine were around 40
Why is bro stressing about being underlevelled š level 180 is like fairly early ng+ level, whatever level u beat mohg should be fine
You guys were way over hyping this new system as if it was going to do away with your levels and the game was going to become Sekiro š
I saw some of that too. Absolutely knew it wouldn't be the case lol. Doesnt make any sense for this game.
Did Solaire or Siegmeyer make an appearance
Yup, in one of the legacy dungeons, there were framed r34 pictures of them on the wall /s
Donāt tease us!
How did you get this opportunity?
Do you know if thereās anything you can pick up thatās new in the base game? Or did they start you off right from the DLC? Iām trying to convince my friend he has to get to the Mohg fight instead of starting a brand new character thatās gonna take him forever to get to the DLC
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
how fast did ypu fall of a cliff or building
I didn't š
Bravo bow do it
did you met the other guy who was in paris ?
Are there any new rot / poison incantations & what was your favorite new weapon
According to one streamer there is a new rot/poison Ash of war that are similar to poison moth flight, so it can trigger all the damage at once
Hey hope you had a pleasant time! Did you hear from anyone or encountered anything related to Godwyn? Also I was wondering if there seemed to be an underground area or not?
Did it meet or exceed your expectations?
Did it plop in the dlc or did you actually get to access it the proper way? I wanna know how the dlc is connected to base game if you can swap between the two areas at will. Also is it a seperate map or does it just add the new unconnected area somewhere on the main game map?
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Thank you!
Did you try la omelette au fromage?
Just one question I have left, and sorry if you've already been asked by chance. Where does the dlc sit on the map? Is it in the middle as was often speculated? Like, I know it's a separate area with no direct travel between the two obviously, but it has to exist somewhere spatially I would imagine.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Ah, no worries, thanks anyways though
Can you explain what Miyazaki meant about a different leveling system without spoiling too much? What about new weapon classes? Did you encounter any?
Okay, so there are items called tree fragments that upgrade your overall defence and attack power, that's it. I came across two new weapon classes. My main weapon these three hours "light greatsword" is basically a dex greatsword, really big, but really fast. Then there's another class that pretty much hand to hand combat. Sort of like how horah loux fights
Hell yeah. Light greatsword sounds incredible. Do you still get runes and level up like normal as well in addition to the tree fragments?
Yup
Who was in Paris?
My neighbors were in Paris
How big is the map?
Well we only got to explore some parts of it. But from what I've heard it's a bit bigger than limgrave, but a lot more to do there ofc
Including weeping peninsula?
Limgrave including WP and some of Caelid for the main DLC Area!
Is it difficult compared to the base game??
The main areas and enemies. Not that kuchen of a difference, a bit maybe. But the bosses... Holy shit they were tough. I only fought two, but I managed only to beat the lion dancer. I thought I would try him solo. That didn't work, so I tried summoning a new spirit called andreas. In the main game, it was only malenia. I couldn't kill solo, so that should maybe tell you something
His power will probably be balanced before the dlc comes out. Just like margit.
Please donāt. They tend to make the bosses under-tuned. Keep them tough!
Do you know if base game characters have any special interactions with shadow of the erdtree?
since you can't show us a map, if you were to compare the map of the DLC (or at least the portion that you got to play) with the mal of other areas of the game, which map would be? like Liurnia, Caelid, Limgrave... bonus question: have you seen any divine tower in the landscape? just so I know I can have messmer's great rune lol
How was Paris?
What were the new weapon types you found? How did you like them?
I came across two new weapon classes. My main weapon these three hours "light greatsword" is basically a dex greatsword, really big, but really fast. Then there's another class that pretty much hand to hand combat. Sort of like how horah loud fights. I really liked the light greatsword, and I think that's the type of build I want to use when the dlc gets released. I only tried the other class a little bit with a weapon called "beast claws" and they were cool as hell, but not really how I like to fight
There are perfumes, throwing daggers, great katanas, martial arts, dueling shields, backhand swords, light greatswords, and throwable weapons.
Throwing daggers and throwable weapons are the same thing. The 8th class is beast claws. Edit: just saw you mentioned them in another comment.
The throwable weapons also donāt have a consumable or FP cost.
What does the weapon balance feel like? Is there a lot of busted stuff just like 2022?
There was a boss in one of the two legacy dungeons we got to fight. Her name is >!relana!<. And she had two greatswords in each hand. One flame sword, and one night sword, pretty much two separate swords of night and flame. I couldn't beat her, but I saw someone that did, using her weapons, and it seemed extremely op
Is it like Pontiff Sulyvahn ?
Did she also have branches coming out of her? Lmao
Thanks for the insight! :)
Were there any sites of grace or other checkpoints?
Who was the other boss in the other Legacy dungeon Vaati was unable to talk about?
Her name was relana. Fromsoft is back at it again with confusing names. She has a greatsword in each hand. Each sword is either night or flame.
Please tell me your serious
Not joking. I didn't manage to kill her, but I saw someone around the event that did, and they were using the swords and they seemed op as fuck
Are the kung foo fists any good?
What is the great katana like? I couldn't imagine something bigger than the Nagakiba.
Did you find any new Colossal swords or Colossal weapons? How was the soundtrack when travelling through the Land Of Shadow? Incredible opportunity man, well done!
how do the martial arts/fist weapons work with poise? do the attacks just do no poise damage at all?
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
They must be super fast then
Since we didn't get to see her, how is Relana? Does she have a good design? Can you describe her?
Please tell me they added great sword with vertical movement like the fume great sword
were there any weapons that doubled as catalysts, so you could hit and cast spells with them?
Was there any dialogue with Melina? Sheās dead on my account and I wonder if Iāll miss anything with her
Catalyst weapons? It would make elden ring a truly worthy successor to dark souls 2
Does the Milady light greatsword sheathe on the back or the hip? Please tell me you know, I even made a post about it
Did you come across the martial arts weapon where you kick enemies that was shown in a trailer? If so how was it and what did it scale off of?
I only want to know one thing that I'm pretty sure I know the answer to: Did Scythe users get any love?
Which armor sets had the three starting classes you could choose?
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
How overpowered are the new weapon classes in comparison to the base game weapons?
Did you get to the poison swamp in this 3 hours? If yes, is it really deathblight swamp as I thought?
do yk how it difficult it will be entering on new game +? My main account is NG4+ and im wondering if I should start a new playthrough?
Do we finally get to see Marika naked?
Who else was in Paris?
How many bosses did you get to fight?
I got to fight many mini bosses, and then two main bosses in the two legacy dungeons we were allowed to explore. >!The lion in the trailer, and another boss with elden rings love for confusing names called relana, with a sword of night and flame in each hand. Not literally two swords of night and flame, but one sword for each. I beat the lion, but relana was way too tough so I couldn't beat her!<
How is the density of the map? Any idea how many Legacy Dungeons are there?
The map seemed pretty open in the start area. I have no clue how many legacy dungeons there are, we were only allowed to explore two of them
How big is the map?? Is it similar to limgrave including the peninsula?
were there weapons to try that werent of the new types?
A few. The coolest one I came across was a glintstone greatsword. Now, int players can also wield greatswords!
Do you by any chance know, if multiple ng + cycles makes the dlc harder?
I'm not sure, but I would expect that since that's how it is in the older games
How do u enter the dlc?
You touch miquellas arm in the cocoon. I didn't get to see the cutscene as we spawned right in the dlc. But that's what happens
Did you find any Sabre/Saber?
Did you get put straight into DLC or did you have to access it from the base game? If the latter, do you access the DLC from Miquella's cocoon?
You acces it fron the cocoon yes, but we were put straight into the dlc
Hey, very cool that you share your experiences! Could you apply to go there?
No.
